LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book set 21315

- I take a look at the latest LEGO IDeas set: 21315 Pop-Up Book, based on the Ideas project submitted by Grant Davis and me. It features a book that opens to reveal a pop-up scene and includes the stories Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk.

In this video I take a look at the parts in the set, the minifigs, the final model and I build my own alternate scene for the book using the pieces from the set.

You should bricklink a ton of those tiles with your name on them and put them on a lot of your builds

Why employ him when they can get him to work for free through a competition like process
Jay has it made. He can work with LEGO whenever he wants it seems. All he has to do is take one of his amazing builds and apply it to the masses.

Yes, I’m aware that’s it’s a competition. I believe this is Jays second ideas set. Maybe he doesn’t have a direct line with TLG but I assure you that they are well aware of his abilities. Besides his builds fit many of the LEGO Ideas criteria.
Congratulations! I love this SO much! I am definitely getting this set. I am really glad to see that LEGO included printed tiles with your names on them. It really irked me what they did with the Ship in the Bottle set.

this is a very cool ideas set,probably the second best only behind the Saturn v.i just don't think its really fair that you got 2 ideas sets,but anyway i am still getting this set.

€75 seems fair compared to the piece count but just a tad too much for me personally. But congrats on getting this out there, it's a really nice idea and design.
Rem Thanks for sharing, that seems fine to me! It can be used really well as a shelf-piece, to see around your room yourself, and to show to visitors. And because it's customisable as well, and fun to play with, I think it's worth the price. :)

@@wickedpuma6331 You should reread his post, then. He actually said the price _isn't_ too much. He made this very clear with opening bit of the post: "€75 seems fair compared to the piece count".

I remember being in an after care at school when I was 7 and making a lego build. I would usually go to show the teacher and tell her to take a picture of it on her phone to send to my parents. But one time, when I would go to show the teacher, this one kid would break the whole thing, so when I would show the teacher she would look for it and then walk away to talk to the other students. Then I would go and build something else. That kid would just keep messing the builds up. Good memories...
Also annoying kid.
But good memories nonetheless...

Looks fantastic! Congratulations on getting it released. To bad they changed the set box to a normal one, instead of the open-on-top version which Ideas sets usualy had.
Wow. That beanstalk design is amazing. Who would have thought to use such a method to fit a tall building into a relatively small book!

Just found this as a Retired Set. (Because of the rock I live under!) Obsessed. It arrives at the end of the week!! Last week - at age 64 - I took possession of my nephew's tote full of pieces - from his not insubstantial childhood collection. But the mainly Atlantis/army/Star Wars bricks are not satisfying my hippie/tree hugging memory of this most excellent set I happened across. As therapeutic as sorting a kabillion bits into order has been, building THIS with ALL the parts collected for me is about to be a joy. My 1st Lego set of my own!! (I have acknowledged to my daughters the possible harm I inflicted upon them in childhood: they got Mega Blocks. #IsaidImSorry :))

I appreciate how the Lego designers paid homage to you on the cover. Unlike that dude who worked on RobenAnne’s design. Hogged the limelight by putting in his son’s name. When in fact, he didn’t alter the look much from the original build.
This is an awesome set! Thought my daughter would like it but think it needs to live me! The possibilities for a design like this are endless, Harry Potter, Star Wars.....
Awesome! I've been waiting for this. It will sit perfectly in between my LEGO and fairy tale collections. I liked how the original version had a lot more going on in the front corners but I guess they wanted to limit the piece count a little which is understandable. It's always moddable, though, so it's fine. Day 1 purchase for me. Great job and congrats!

Good job man. You are by far a far more skilled at Lego than me. If I were skilled enough, I would submit a Lego ideas set that tied in with my love of history.
