Ernest Tubb really connected with a crowd like no one else could. If that smile and sincerity doesn’t win you over immediately then there just ain’t no hope for you.
Ernest really wasn’t that old in this video, in his 60’s, but yes he still sounded really good. He was only 70 when he died in September of 1984. My dad is in his 80’s and still sounds great, maybe not exactly like he did when he was younger but still sounds great. Not everyone loses their voice with age.
I grew up with Ernest tubb music and Marty has always been my favorite singer. I met him once when I was a teen and he was such a wonderful caring person and it just cemented my love of his music n voice.
Ernest Tubb band was just so real. Pure country, pedal steel, guitar. Ernest of course one of the greatest. Marty, well what can we say. So cool and smooth. RIP.
I've seen Earnest Tubb at a outdoor festival in Ohio in the 1980s before he past away. The festival is called Millersport Sweet Corn Festival. Every year the weekend before labor day in September on Saturday (the last night of the festival) they always had somebody from the Grand Ol Opry there. They've had Earnest Tubb one year Whispering Bill Anderson another year and others and I've seen both Earnest Tubb when he was there that year and Bill Anderson another year. It's been 40 years yesterday (9/6/2024) since The Texas Troubador (Earnest Tubb) past away. RIP ET. Still loved and missed

@@tammyslaughter9587 I don't think anyone said Lynn Owlsley was Japanese. I was originally asking if the steel player was the Japanese player Kiyoshi Kobyashi. ( I had forgotten his name ) but Marcus McFaul answered my question and knew it was Lynn Owesley,
@@WildPhotoShooter I understand, and I’m sorry if I was rude, but there was never a Japanese Texas Troubadour. There was a Hispanic Texas Troubadour who was actually from Texas, but as talented as Kiyoshi was and I know he was also a session player at one time he just never played for Ernest Tubb.
The ten people who don't like this, need to have their ears checked!
Love the old timey country music. So much better than todays' popular country.
Ernest Tubb & Marty Robbins…now THIS is what you would call REAL Country Music!
This is real music. Understand every word.
I so love these old stars. Not enough tribute is paid to some of these.old time country singers and song writers.
Love these old songs you don't hear any more
Back when country was country
Ernest Tubb really connected with a crowd like no one else could. If that smile and sincerity doesn’t win you over immediately then there just ain’t no hope for you.
Back when country singers had a signature sound. ET's was most recognizable.
What went wrong? Why did it have to end?
That's exactly what I said for years !
And as a fellow who also has a deep voice, best time of country music.

It's amazing that how old ET was and still sang the same...reminds me the same of Stonewall Jackson and even Ray Price. True legends of country music.
