- Recurve junior men's gold medal match between Kim Hyeonjong of Korea and Jack Williams of USA at the 2019 World Archery Youth Championships in Madrid, Spain. Recurve junior archers shoot at a target 70 metres away, 122cm in diameter and the central 10-ring measures just 12.2 centimetres in diameter (about the size of a DVD).

Why should archery have a men and women competition
Did you try to shoot a bow before? It's something like a gym machine with a LOT of weight and pressure. The more kg (pounds) you can pull the more fast, far and straight the arrow will fly :) The mechanic strenght comes from the muscles on the back, men can develop it further than woman and more easy. Of course both can shoot at that distance but the man will do it with an advantage over the woman (generally speaking)

@@alejandrogalvezsanchez6821 even if it had no physical component men would still be dominating the top. men are much more willing to focus on and master a single thing just look at chess which has no physical element judit polgar (a women) made it into the top 10 players and even won some games (at least one not sure) against Kasparov. She proved its not intelligence but the time and effort that separates men and women in chess. Honestly I bet the men in archery spend thousands more hours on average then the women. Im sure the best darts player in the world is a man too and the best pool player etc... because almost no women is willing to put over 10,000 hours into a single thing.

@@StallionMan If you watch the mixed matches, the casters point out that usually the women out-shoot the men in competitions, so I don't know where you have this odd idea from. Being a man or woman has nothing to do with how much time you're willing to put into something.
