Honestly scared for the safety of the vets wife. I can’t explain it but that story gives me the impression that the husband would do anything to keep “his” money all to himself. Add a possible love child with the intern and it gets scarier.

The brain damage one, the prank was called "the skull crusher prank" on tiktok. Where you set up the person to jump but you actually kick in their legs causing them to fall backwards onto the back of their head. It's a very dangerous trend, as many of us know injury to the back of the head is life altering. 1000% divorce worthy at minimum, i would even look into pressing charges.

People go in the field because it is a high paying career. However if you are not going to listen to the patient and gaslight telling them things are in their head just don't bother because you aren't going to make a good medical professional.

She found the credit card statement and he realized she could take him for everything. He knows the numbers are not fair. And he is being straight up abusive to her. For the first story: When the guy's GF said "No partner in the world, especially a woman, wants their partner to turn tail and run" I took that as less of an "oh you're a man so it's your duty to be tough and protect me/gender roles" thing and more as a "women tend to be larger targets of violence" thing. Like women can't even walk home alone at night because of the dangers out there, so as a girl I definitely wouldn't want my partner (no matter the gender) to be okay with just watching in a situation like that, let alone dead ass leaving me alone lmao. I hate traditional gender roles, but all people in relationships should be aware of how their partner's identity affects them.

The brother's mourning of his football-loving, funny brother in law is NO comparison to the sister and her son's pain. wtf?? It's a three year marriage; not sure why it's so shocking and that she must need some SUPER valid reasoning in the brother's eyes. If the son had died, would that have been enough for the brother or not because it was one mistake? The way the brother describes the brain damage and contrasts it with how fun BIL was, makes it seem like he misses the fun BIL and doesn't care about the boring brain damaged son. yuck.

I lost a lot of blood and I was blacking out while talking to the doctors right before going into surgery. I didn't know it was considered an abortion either. Last thing I remember before being wheeled off to the surgery room were the doctors telling my mom it was life threatening. It absolutely terrifies me for all the people who will have to go through the same thing and might not even get the help they truly need. It's so infuriating. It's truly no ones business what people decide to do with their unborn children.

I have friends in the same boat as me thinking of giving up their dreams, and friends coming out and saying their own experience like yours on why abortion access is so important for everyone in these cases, no matter what views are on when life begins.

I have a sister who is like that and she is diagnosed with multiple personality disorders. Theatrical personality disorder, borderline personality and anti behavioural disorder.
These kinds of people don't care about you. And what Alejandra said, that they are miserable, only when the spotlight doesn't shine on them. Then they start making up stories about being kidnapped/pregnant/hurt/sad/angry/ ..,...........(fil in any noun or adjective that you can come up with).
My family has taken absolute distance after she divorced her ex husband and started verbally abusing my mother as instigator for her break up.
She not right in the head. Next to all these mental hiccups she also uses a lot of drugs and alcohol. We are waiting for the news that something bad has happened truly.
I grew up with her and it made me question whether or not I was right in the head. I missed my childhood because this woman felt she needed more attention as soon as one of the other kids had something. She purposefully fell down stairs or in the water for attention. It sickening to see it happen.

Agree. What stood out to me is, even if this would have been "just a prank" and not intended for, and likely motivated by, TikTok, her husband still pulled a prank on his _15 year old_ (yes, he's a teenager, but at this age he's also still a child) (step)son.
In my world, this is not acceptable behavior for any (step)parents.
Children are supposed to be able to fully trust their parents, and to feel safe in their home. Imagine for a moment that the kid was not injured (physically) by the prank. Would the kid still be able to trust the husband? Would he feel insecure and constantly be anticipating another prank? How long before everything was "back to normal"?
For me, wanting a divorce due to bad parenting from your partner and to protect your child from possible future harm sounds perfectly reasonable. Op's sister probably knows her husband best to determine if his parenting deficits could be resolved by other means or not.

I’m not with that. Unless they was both in on the prank but a doubt he’d get hurt that bad if he was 😭 I feel like regardless… the divorce is valid. Like Morgan said I wouldn’t be able to look at the person that injured by son like that and it’s not fair to him to stay in a marriage where I resent him if it was something innocent gone bad. I was recently watching a show about true stories and this man who was a doctor ended up getting hit by a car. The wife of over 30 years finds out about his other “wife” of 20 years (and vice versa) at the hospital while he’s in a coma. He didn’t wake up and ends up passing away, so neither of them get closure. The guy has kids with them both and lives a double life. The first wife is obviously devastated and then on top of that, she finds out he had someone forge her signature on divorce papers years prior, told the other woman he was married once but that his first wife died, and then legally marries the second woman. Both women eventually have to fight in court over his possessions and who should get them. First wife gets all of it after proving the divorce documents were forged, but decides to give the other woman a loft that late husband owned in the city the second family resided. Other woman ends up trying to have the first wife killed! Luckily she survived 3 gunshot wounds and the woman was locked up along with the men she paid to do it. My jaw was on the floor the whole time. It was the craziest story I’ve ever heard about a double life situation. Just thought I’d share I guess lol. Idk how people don’t figure it out or put two and two together at some point..

For the story about the prenup, I just wanted to say that the man did not suddenly turn and become deranged. The man was selfish from the very beginning. Quitting his nursing career, having his wife take on major student debt and working to support the both of them while he went to school. After establishing himself, making them move so he could have better prospects, guilting her into quitting her job……I’m sure there’s more. While some of these things aren’t bad on their own, all of them together paint a very telling picture for me. This is the type of man that thinks of himself first and everyone else is secondary. So it’s not surprising that he is treating his wife this way.

Abt the vet story- I’ve actually heard that a lot of surgeons, whether veterinary or other, actually do have sociopathic/psychopathic tendencies because otherwise they wouldn’t be able to detach themselves from the living being and what they’re currently doing to them (cutting, sewing etc) and there’s studies done on med students that show they become less empathetic towards their patients after a while because they NEED to in order to not pass out from their work. I’m not saying this is a bad thing just that it could just as well be that the husband ACTUALLY did develop anti social behaviour from having to detach his feelings from his job as a vet.

He obviously did something to cause such a reaction that lead to the kid’s permanent pain. The woman has her standards & that’s on of em. Imagine your kid is no longer themselves due to someone being childish when it could’ve all been avoided. At the end of the day, you have a right to withdraw from a relationship/marriage for practically any reason & this is hers 🤷🏾‍♀️ plus imagine how the kid feels, his life has been changed permanently due to this man & then to watch your mom be happy go lucky still married to him & keeping him around?? That first story about the BF leaving his GF in the Cosco line… I would immediately never be able to be attracted to that person again. I understand gender roles can be different for everyone, but for me… he’s weak and that repulses me.

So. Valid. Even if the gender roles were reversed, it’s weird for your partner to leave you in a volatile situation. Period.

@@kaywin132As a woman I have stepped in multiple times when my husband couldn't. Usually when another woman is being aggressive with him and it would be culturally inappropriate for him to stand up for himself. Neither of us would leave the other in a dangerous situation. Nor would either of us tolerate the disrespect.

Thank you for your intro into this podcast, I honestly would never expect anything less of you. Living in a very red very religious state, I am scared. Although I have never needed to be in that situation, absolutely no one should have this kind of control over us! Thank you, love absolutely love love love this podcast!

maybe I’m just emotional, but the Vet with the “post-nup” story has ruined my entire day, maybe week. I’m livid. Disgusted.
How DARE he even have the BALLs to try some crap like that. He used his wife to get where he was, only to cast her and his daughter to the side in favor of a much younger women.
Who gets mad at their own 6 year old for saying they admire their career & want to “save animals like dad does?” (Either he is insane or his mistress is putting that in his head, trying to poison him against his daughter and current wife)
How DARE he offer $10,000 A YEAR AND THEN LESS FOR EVERY NEW KID? Gtfo.
If a partner ever offered a “post-nup” you know they’re gearing up to leave you. It’s disgusting he’s trying to cast his wife and daughter to the side in such a horrendous way. He wants to leave them with NOTHING to start a new family when his wife is the one who got him where he is in life.

My daughter Elizabeth was stillborn and for months I just wanted to die with her. I have finally been able to turn my life around and can't wait to have a rainbow baby someday. People who would fake this kind of pain for attention are truly disturbing.

What I love about that last story too is that all the time they were dating, if she laid her head on his chest and heard his heart beating, she was hearing her brother's heart without even knowing it. Hearing my bf's heartbeat is so calming for me so maybe it was for her too. There's something so powerful and beautiful about that.

I just wanna start off by saying Thank you !! This episode is the Rage I needed to kinda let go of all the rage I’ve had inside me this whole week because of Roe v. Wade. I’ve been so upset and this episode just allowed me to kinda be angry about some else’s problems and also kinda letting go of some of that anger I’ve been holding on to and crying about it. I’m not sure if anyone else can relate but just THANK YOU. I love your Podcast.

With the tik tok prank I agree with Alejandra - regardless of the intention and how the incident occured, if she can't move past it then divorce is the right move and it is understandable that she would not be able to. I don't think I could. That's her baby and he is irreparably damaged.

The prank one: I don't think I could stay with someone who hurt my child, even unintentionally. Not only did he hurt the child he ruined the woman's and kids future. She will always feel guilty even though she has no blame. She will always want to take care of him. Even if she isn't able to. I think her life is going to be hard and so is the childs.

I would have have some respect, if he would’ve said, I got scared! I don’t know how to fight. I think the guy that cut them in line smell a weak little boy, and was like, I can do what I want. That’s why he said, what you going to do 🐶 and he didn’t check on her! For 30 minutes! What it that guy attacked her! He didn’t care, as long as he was safe.

For the divorce over brain damage I am in a roller skating group on Facebook and a nurse posted the other day about how someone was skating without a helmet and ended up getting a TBI (traumatic brain injury) and died of the injury. All they did was fall on the sidewalk and hit their head wrong. So I get where Justin is coming from on it could’ve been an almost minor prank, but if she can’t move on or look at him she’s justified in divorce

The prank is called Skull Crusher. You have someone jump and then knock their legs out from under them so they fall backwards and hit the back of their head so.... definitely not a freak accident.

30:01 you guys are talking about creative ways to cheat, and I think I just figured out why my ex would always have me cover so many of his shifts at work. Most of our housemates would either be sleeping, at work or in class. I found other girls' clothes in our laundry a couple of times that didn't belong to me or either of the other 2 girls living with us, I knew it wasn't theirs because the items were too small. For context: we both started working at the same place at the same time, and he got promoted to manager after like 6 months. So controlling my shifts and hours allowed him to know where I was and how long I would be there. And here I was just thinking he was lazy 😂
