I have a couple of those barrel taps, do you think they drunk ale in the field, or just broken and chucked in the muck heap back in the farmyard? What does Mr Tweed think too?
I would say 90% of them were used for ale as that was part of a field workers pay. It was also safer to drink than the water as well! In hindsight, we now know why they dropped so much stuff while working the fields 😂👍
