Outstanding up close demonstration of the painting process . Good to watch & learn how to do. Artist comments would have been a big plus Thanks for sharing DK
Not bad..good use of straightforward painting...keep the palette simple...and get to know your colours..paint and draw every single day ...every day...even if only for ten or fifteen minutes..but every day...and you will find yourself getting better. Also you will learn more as a student painting from life rather than photos...remember photos always give you a semblance of reality but the camera lens distorts very much...Paint, draw everyday from life and you will become a better artist.
it seems simple.............i can tell you it is not.....but this guy is very very talented....i make portraits myself.........up this is a step up.....one day. thank you for the videoKwong Ko Wah!
I've heard mixed reactions about Alkyds but they look pretty great judging by this video! But then again, a great artist can make anything look good heh!
Ko Wah Kwong Oh, that's interesting. I was told alla prima in alkyds was a bad idea because the paint get's tacky with it's drying time, I might have to check them out again in this case.
@Cre8iveSignWorks My respects first of all, Well I said the skills are really good, but even I had a one second look at the model it is enough to say that the eyes are different, the proportions in cheeks, eyebrows, mouth and the beard are different. Overall the portrait looks different from the model, which is at least 55-60years old. The man in your painting looks younger. I wish I could have your skills, however you need to slow down and work more on likeness in small but detailed areas
@tonchititito hells bells....how can you say that? you only get a 1 second look at the model and from what i saw it was a very close likeness. id hate to do a paid job for you...youre a tough art critic.
@ndjohnson1000 that's because he's disingenuous. leading one to believe he can start out methodically step by step and do the finished product, when he actually cuts after the initial start to either labor for hours or days to get to the step you next see, or more typically of those people, cheat in some way by overlaying projected photography..
Great portrait great music!!!

What is an Oldman?
@tonchititito ok....whatever,
but you are confusing me with the painter in the video.
i didnt paint it....i just commented on your comment on it.
Can you make a tutorial video? So that we will not spend our time for just understanding the colors you use on your video.

alkyd doesn't dry in 2 hours, it takes about 8 at least and that's using it thin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All'inizio mi sembrava forte poi pian-piano diventato debole ..
I like the skills but unfortunately it does not look like the model at all. not even close.
Well this man probably has a artschool or dvdlessons. so this video is to him what candy is to a childrapist. just to lure you for the mainevent
