Thanks for this video. I'm setting up a home theater system and these ST3TW from kicker has a resistor and a capacitor in them. I know they are needed, but this helped me understand why. Thanks man!!
I bought 2 set 1 for H-2 Hummer JL Audio RD400.4 ......1 set for my Challenger....Alpine X-A70F-X 4 channel absolutely the best SQ crisp 👌 ..both of my rides
I did this experiment when I was 15 years old trying different filters. And learn about car stereo by reading Crutchfield magazine. It's easier now with internet if you wanna learn .
When you add these to the spl show sv165 what's the best way to limit the power to the tweeter if they are in parallel with the corresponding midwoofer
Buuuut if you put the cap on the ground instead of hot.... it blocks the high frequency, for instance this would go on a mid-driver speaker...? Correct? I've never tried
What size capacitor do I need for ST 35s? I just bought a bike with them on it and there is absolutely no sound coming out of the horns at all. I’m guessing their blown so I’ll have to fix the voice coil but I need to add capacitors. I just don’t know what to get.
nikko1627 call me , I have a few different values for you depending on how much power you are running to the tweeters . Plus we have a new adjustable 12 dB prototype crossover that you might want to try . 908-527-6772
i have a compression driver 4ohm rated 1khz to 20khz what value capacitor should for it to be set around 1200 - 1500hz since im not using a dsp right now
With the capacitor next to the tweeters magnet are you suppose to shrink wrap it because I lost all four in a week and I believe there rms was 75 and I wasn't hearing any distorting but I also didn't have the amps set with a dd1 or oscilloscope
I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is your screen name on the HDforum I would love to read your post. I like your videos and as a DIYer I want to learn more info.
I have some (2) Hertz SV 200.1 and (2) Hertz ST 35s on a Hertz HDP4 Digital Power 4 Channel 1000 Watt Amplifier on a Road King... was wondering if you could answer a question for me... would it be better to switch to NEOs since they're both out for the SV 200s and ST 35s? would they sound better? I know they're water resistant now so thats a plus but would you recommend I do that? and also, because it is a Road King and I have no head unit, I'm supplying sound with a Wet Sounds WW-BT-VC (Version 2) Bluetooth Control Knob.. what would you recommend to get a better sound? I hate the fact that I cant adjust my levels, especially because I use my iPhone to play music through and all it has it presets.. If need be, I'm open to giving you a call for some help!! Willing to pay for advice! lol Thank you in advance!!
Hertz does not offer a st35 Neo yet Switching to the 200 Neo will Give you a little more mid bass . I would add a Rockford dsr1 dsp and run your wet sounds Bluetooth into the dsr1 aux input . You will Have full control of your audio 👍🏽
I need help my music guy set my music up so where ei can't turn it all the way up because it will blow my tweets I have Hertz NEO but I need to know what do I need to do to get my volume to go up more someone says add another compositor it Connect to a jl 600 6 channel ...if ya have any tips for me it woule be appreciated
Question sir, I keep blowing my tweeters on my motorcycle(twice). I've noticed the installer didn't use stand-alone capacitors, instead they used what I think is a pure treble speaker audio frequency divider. Do I really need this as opposed to the capacitor alone, or can I also install a "cap" in addition to this part? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you kindly sir.
need more info, from what you explaining sounds like you got component speakers. Meaning it comes with speaker and tweeter are separate and use a 2 way crossover. If that's your set up your amplifier is probably running full range. Meaning its giving everything bass and treble. Also how many watts is you amplifier. Also it's the amplifier tuned so it won't clip Meaning just giving it clean power ,no distortion. To fix problem You'll need a real installer. Because you'll need tools to set your amplifier gains. You need a 4 channel amplifier. 2 channel to speaker with crossover set at 100 hertz depending on speaker specs. Then 2 channel to tweeters with crossover set to 3k or higher depending on specs.setting amplifier gains with a dd1 smd. Speaker channel set to 3 db then tweeters set to 0db so it would play clean. Sorry if you don't understand
So can you run more RMS or will that blow the tweeter, my amp pushes 180 x4 RMS at 4 ohms. I was going to run the tweeters on their own channel and use a rockford fosgate DSP 1 to add the highpass crossover. Will the 180 RMS still work with or is it too much?
Active is a dsp . You set frequencys from the software but it's better to run caps to protect them how he said if you set at a frequency theres still energy below the setpoint .
Daniel hearn def knows his stuff.. That's my guy.. very informative info you're providing to the masses
Great teacher you are bro!!! Be Blessed
I actually understood your video and thanks for the explanation. I just purchased two bullet tweeters and I was wondering about the capacitor.

The specialist dealers will win over the forums in the end.
How does the filter get connected to the tweeter? Do i soldier it to the positve side and then soldier my speaker wire to the end?
Yes

What's the value of the cap that comes with the st35 ????
Have you ever compared the Skar Audio VX1-ST super tweeters to the PRV Audio TW400Ti-Nd-4 v2 super tweeters?

@@NVSAUDIO was just on the website and it now has the ST 35A NEO & ST 35K NEO... thank you again for the response, really appreciate it.
very well explained

Whats the better tweeter/horn? I've been hearing that diamond horns are better quality. Is this true?
What volt meter you using, bought one from Walmart and it won’t go pass 2000hz, looking for one that goes at least 10-12.5
What would you do if you wanted to run (2) 4ohm speakers in stereo to 2 separate channels but at a 2ohm load?
You would have to get 2 ohm speakers unless you have dual voice coil
Do u need a cap if ur running a hertz crossover to the tweeter
What should I set my dsp to? For tweeters
What kind of capacitor should I use for tweeters and drivers?
Its crazy how so many people are installing audio in people vehicles and don't even know simple things like this.

Jeff Leigh what amp are you using?
Exact model number so I can give you the most accurate answer.
NVSAUDIO biketronics 4180
So no active crossover needed if it has a built in capacitor?
Active is a dsp . You set frequencys from the software but it's better to run caps to protect them how he said if you set at a frequency theres still energy below the setpoint .
My blastkings keeps blowing out on me even with a capacitor
Wow zero thumbs down! I don't care if Jesus makes a video, some a-hole is gonna thumbs down the vid🤣
