Massive Volvo EC750EL Excavator moving out of Conexpo 2017

- Volvo Construction Equipment America displayed their massive EC750EL crawler excavator at Conexpo 2017. This videos shows it being moved out of the Las Vegas Convention Center after the show.
Strictly high quality, top standards and very talented operators.
The machine alone weighs around 106000 lbs. that’s a serious load. The trailer and combination of axles al in makes a beautiful looking rig
106 000 lbs = 80 000kg? I'm not impressed by all the shit they need to transport a single machine. Europe and Scandinavia: 3 axle truck (US truck: 3 axles behind cab.) And a 4 axle trailer and there you go. If we were to transport a load of 400 000 kg, then we would something like in this video, only with a few more axles.

@@luckycharm5251 agree. Where I work, we transport them regularly. Even though this combination looks the part, it's not necessary, although I can't judge on regulations in the USA.

You can hear the auxiliary motor running the hydraulics for the second man to steer when they are backing up… Still yes great skills but technology and two men doing it makes it look a whole lot easier…That’s a few dollars backing out of that exhibition center… Very cool

It splits the weight evenly between the jeep and the tractor.

Why not drive the excavator outside first, then load onto trailer? Seems like it would be a lot easier, and safer than backing that huge load.

After walking through this expo and sitting in these tractors, I over watching your move out vids. The booths amazed me, especially the ones outside that looked like office buildings (JCB, JD, Cat etc.) This was my first CON AG EXPO and my mind was blown. Thanks for posting. 👍

Tell the Truck Operator moving that Volvo 750 from one old retired Heavy Haul operator that is retired and nowhere as good as him, it's a pleasure to watch a professional at work!
I couldn't help but notice that when that truck was backing up, there wasn't a back up alarm going off. Just curious as to why there wasn't one.

What's controlling the rear axis when the truck is driving? The guide vehicle remotely or is the driver controlling it with some remote?

I’m just glad too see that it’s actually behind the operators cab on this Machine. My Volvo 460CL the master switch is on the left side underneath the front box headed up too the engine.
I laughed when I seen it and knew exactly what he was doing and I haven't been in earthmoving for over 20 yrs.

There are steel beams supporting the bottom surface of the excavator. It is done this way to keep the total height less than 17-feet (5.28-meters). Travel permits are higher in cost if over a certain height. Plus you would have to carry billions of dollars of insurance.
The trailer is made by a company called Cozad. Components are the "jeep", "trailer", "booster", and, "stinger". All sections lift the load to equally distribute the weight.

Do they intentionally use worn down grousers for a show like that or is that how the unit is sold? edit: ok further into the video I see that they are not as short as I thought they were
There are different options on grousers, those are what they call doubles with two "fins" per shoe, singles would be one per shoe and longer for more off road bite, but will really tear up pavement. There are also triples, flat, and other custom application options for various types of other equipment
there are no worn out growsers on that machine
Very interesting. What would one use flats for, paved roads? I'd imagine traction would be pretty bad offroad with them.
Short wide triple grouser shoes/pads are "street" pads designed for minimal impact. These are just standard track pads as anything over the 45 ton class is not designed to work on asphalt. I prefer a street style shoe in bedrock style terrain in Canada. Less sliding, we often weld picks on in the winter.

Fred the terrible mechanic it took two days to get all the heavy equipment out of the North hall. The last stuff to move is the big crawler cranes outside. They take around 2 weeks.

anybody ever forgot to reset the emergency shutoff switch after they used it .. just to make sure it still works .. and then try to start it the next day .. and you can't figure out why it won't start .. i did that quite a few times .. even though i'm an experienced operator .. i seen a lot of red faces back in my day .. some of that was mine ..
charles villebrun lol, there is so much that goes through your mind loading & unloading these machines, that's an easy mistake to make, maybe not even a mistake more a doh moment lol.
