I'm surprised that you didn't mention *springs*. They play a very important part in how rivers form - in fact, the "source" of many rivers is a spring (or sometimes a number of springs).
Then your hearts hardened after that, so that they were like rocks, rather worse in hardness; and surely there are some rocks from which streams burst forth, and surely there are some of them which split asunder so water issues out of them, and surely there are some of them which fall down for fear of Allah, and Allah is not at all heedless of what you do. (English - Shakir) via al Quran Our al quran book really amazing, it tells you before science do study ❤
This was mentioned in the Quran 1444 years ago, before all the scientific advancements. "Even then your hearts became hardened like a rock or even harder, for some rocks gush rivers; others split, spilling water; while others are humbled in awe of Allah. And Allah is never unaware of what you do." Quran 2:74

Ooohh ok, i was thinking where does a waterfall starts, so ok it starts here after millions of years where the rock cannot hold the water and some underground rocks eroded, then it will become a waterfall.. Now I get to understand it more :)
So basically, it starts of as a spring then after several miilions/billions of years it will form a waterfall then be a river? Or spring>river>waterfall?
"And it is He who has released the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed, between them a barrier and prohibiting partition. Surah Al Furqan,
I often wonder if one could make a river in places where water teends to go.. first by creating a pond.. then the water table will refill, do that for a couple years.. then extend the pond like a river and just keep doing that for decades... is it possible?
You can divert the path of an existing river but you cannot really create a brand new river just by digging somewhere beacause as soon as the river is bed is higher than the water table it will loose the water. To prevet that from happening you would have to make the river bed impermeable.
Okay so this explains only why rivers stay with water in them and where it comes from but, it doesn't tell you how rivers are FORMED like the title suggests. How is a river formed? like how does the land separate originally in order for water to even pass through in the first place? Are they natural? are they Man-made? Is it simply gravity and wherever happens to be the lowest part of land it can reach is where the river basin forms and thus grows into a river creating a bed for itself as it corrodes through the landscape?
I live in mountains, there's big waterfalls from the mountains peak, where is the water come from? And this mountains have no glacier, i live in tropical country
This is a theory, and it is convincing until you see the amazon, the nile, or the niagaras coming from mountains tops, and you realise there should be a pumping system because the amount of water i insane

Thank you for the beautiful presentation and facts in this video and channel. 🌹 I would kindly like to add that this wonderful on-rush of water was surprisingly highlighted by God AlMighty; "For indeed there are rocks from out which rivers gush, and indeed there are rocks which split asunder so that water floweth from them." (2:74) Al-Baqarah. How Great is God ?
The most interesting think about rivers is the fact, that they are formed like Lichtenberg-Figures, like electromagnetic discharges. Nobody seem to care or explain why though.
You must love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You must love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus the Anointed is Lord! Repent and be baptized and believe the Evangelism.
Hello and thank you for your interesting comment that allows me to explain better. We may think that rivers are static features or networks of carved out channels that are then filled with water (if I understand your comment right this is what you imply), but that is not really what happens. In fact rivers are highly dynamic systems, their paths is determined by topography (i.e. the shape of the land over which the water flows ), the type of rocks that make up the land, but also by how much water there is and how fast it flows. Moreover, rivers themselves can change the landscape, through erosion. When water flows it will carve its own path over time. These paths, are not fixed : it is not uncommon for a river, or a portion of a river, to change path, sometimes gradually, often suddenly. So for many practical purposes, the water is the river. In this sense I think that if you can explain how water gets to the river, you can explain how the rivers are formed.
This exact scientific phenomenon has been mentioned in the Quran 1400+ years ago Then your hearts became hardened after that, being like stones or even harder. For indeed, there are stones from which rivers burst forth, and there are some of them that split open and water comes out, and there are some of them that fall down for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unaware of what you do. Quran 2:74 Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 74 Why then do you not believe? For indeed, it is not eyes that are blinded, but blinded are the hearts which are within the breasts.
The water does not climb up the mountain. It falls from the sky and starts movinf downwards towards the sea. Some of this journey happens at the surface, some undergroud. If the level of the water underground rises above the level of the surface, the water comes out (that is how a spring forms).
Hi @clipper4me, here is an image o fa spring (the place where the water comes out of the ground) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mur_%28river%29#/media/File:Murursprung01.JPG

That is incorrect. The surface of the Earth is continually being reshaped and remodelled and rivers play a big part in it. The paths or rivers change constantly, sometimes very gradually, sometimes dramatically. It is for example not uncommon for a river to alter its path following a big storm. Besides, when the Earth was hot and soft and molten (as you say) there was no liquid water on the Earth's surface. It takes at least several hundred degrees for the rocks to be molten, and all the water would be transformed to vapor.
Imagine mankind having the ability to just observe these things. No classroom, no teacher, no grading and memorization system that keeps the student anxious instead of enjoying the process of learning.
We base our perceptions of reality based on subconscious calculating, beliefs, preferences-- much more than we realize. I agree it's a spiritual crime to just tell people what is important or not... To each their own, living for the tangible but be cursed to see it all decline, or to live in fear or perhaps pseudo hope/ or grandeurs if there are redemptions after death... Just would be nice either way- if the human race could be decent and get along for once... Even within the same company/ agency... Is that really too much to ask for??...
Why arent the origins of river shown with actual satellite footage instead of diagrams. Even "underwater" rivers could be mapped with infrared or thermal visual aids until the rivee source is seen
such theories can not justify how such river Nile and all other rivers on our earth was there since thousands of years. how much water needed to be enough for these rivers???? Nop. there is something wrong or hidden we don't know.
This is meant to be a short summary of how most rivers get their water. If you have a specific question on how water reaches the nile you can look that up. Saying there's something we don't know just because it wasn't mentioned in this specific video is pretty stupid.

Geomorphically speaking it starts from the Ocean it joins !
