I am Ugandan and that's one person's imaginary opinion out of over 40million Ugandan people. I have been to Turukana, outskirts of Nairobi and Mombasa and you will agree with me that Kenya is not rich.
In English, going abroad is going to a foreign country so yes when we're in Kenya we're abroad just like you when you come to Kampala you're not in Kenya, you are literally abroad in a foreign country.

As a Kenyan , I would say the friendliest neighbour we have is Uganda.The kindest of people in Africa reside in this country.They are so hospitable and humble even with an environment that maybe quite something politically,the true definition of joy is evident in most Ugandans. Read our history, Uganda has had more presidents than Kenya so we don't have one president. Also, we don't carry money in sacks, who does that? I think someone gave you wrong information from 1970s during Amin wars, over 60% of Ugandans prefer using mobile money and bank transfers. We are positively happy people by nature as you can see and you can't be that while carrying money in sacks.

The reasons why ugandans didn't embrace kiswahili is historical in the way that during the time of colonists, Swahili language was tought to soldiers as the language of the army and you what it means when you confront a soldier during those days; it was disaster. Swahili was taken to be arrogant, impolite and commanding, thus it became unpopular among the ugandans. The next reason is during amin's time uganda was attacked by Tanzania with the so called "wakombozi" some used to rob ugandans, killed amin's allies, raped wemen and definately they were speaking swahili and so swahili became unpopular. Up to now

President Museveni recently included Kiswahili in Uganda's school curriculum.

It was included in curriculum for the sake of EAC but the population in general may never embrace Swahili, never.
