The Park looks empty and dead - where did all the guests go ?
Not every day is gonna be jam packed busy? Yknow up until a handful of years ago days like this weren't that strange
All right David. I have a proposition for you. I will pay for your lightning lane pass for 1 day. The goal: You go in with lightning lane being FREE. Experience the parks and all the rides. Next day, you go in normal. No pass. And try to get through all of the same rides. Then finally, you buy your own lightning lane for the day and then report on if it's worth it. I'm serious about this. I use lightning lane every time now and I always think it's a good deal.
transparent logic as to why they aren't putting a new show into hyperion? actors unions, cost, and they purposely want to keep the wait times artificially inflated at other attractions for genie plus. So many passholders aren't renewing, and its apparent by their discounted tickets.
I love how disney gives yall a discount and you somehow find a way to turn it into a negative. Some Disney parks "fans" are so insufferable 🙄
Just stating fact, you're the one taking it to an emotional place.. If you think Disney is "giving" discounts to be nice, you're mistaken. Why are Magic Keys not sold out? The question in the video was asking for logic, and i provided it. Tell me why I'm wrong. 💁
Maybe there is no show inside hyperion because Disney is just being mean to us? 😆
Disneyland just paused Magic Keys so that would tell people are renewing
I know this seems counter intuitive. Disneyland has a large financial problem. And any annual pass ticket plan does not fix where they are to date. Movie revenue plummeted as well as streaming
So how do you make it up to a positive you most get attendance up for one time users period. Listen long ago my family used passes, but when we went in as a family of four we ate blue bayou, in dinner at any sit down venue. We always bought clothing or other items. In those days you had quality merchandise many under label products. So that was the offset for the park.
That offset is gone... cheap merchandise high sales price does not drive repeat sales.
Annual pass type attendance cannot be the primary market in many cases it is better to have no annual passports.
If I had to guess why no shows- cost. Its expensive having the cast and crew.. and Disney seems to wanna steer away from the live entertainment in favor of cheap gimmicks and more shopping. I mean they didn't bring back a lot of the live entertainment after covid.. and with the talks of potential unionizing with the cast members.. they may just wanna cut their losses now. (Or someone at the top was butt hurt over the mean comments about the last show, even though it was a spoof from an C-ranked disney plus show)
I got Blue Sky ideas for replacements at Disney California Adventure I know this is gonna be a controversial opinion but i think closing down Muppet Vision 3-D was a big mistake because now Disneyland has no Muppets attraction but I think they should retheme the Paradise Gardens area with The Muppets The Little Mermaid attraction will stay because that is a great ride and I love it but the other attractions near it would close the Golden Zephyr will be rethemed to Pigs in Space from The Muppet Show, Jumpin Jellyfish will be Themed to Hot airballoons themed to Kermit the Frog taken from The Great Muppet Caper, Goofy's Sky School will be Rethemed to The Great Gonzo's StuntMadness and instead of a Airplanes guests will ride on the Plunger car from the Muppet Movie and the attraction takes place in The Great Gonzo's StuntShow Madness and for his 3rd act he invited you the guests on his Plunger Car the beginning of the ride you see Gonzo in his cannon being launched in the sky and then your car jumps though a Fire hoop (Which is not a fire Hoop it's just a hoop painted orange but it glows in the Dark at Night), a circular Saw, and at the end you see Gonzo on his Motorcycle in a slingshow and at the end he crashing himself and the motorcycle on the Stunt show Building and you see his cutout and his Motorcycle on the Building which is a tribute Muppet Vision 3-D and then at the end you unload from the vehicle and exit safety. The pizza place near by will be rethemed to PizzaRizzo from Disney World, and lastly The Silly Symphony Swings will be rethemed to the Electric Mayhem and will be titled The Eletric Mayhem: RockSwings my 2nd other idea is Paradise Gardens attractions like Goofy's Sky School, Golden Zephyr, Jumpin Jellyfish, and Silly Symphony Swings will be demolished for a FreeGuy Land the Land will take place in FreeCity from the Film and the main ride will take rider on a adventure through FreeCity and the attraction will use the same Ride system technology from The Simpsons Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida but instead of Rollercoaster vehicles its the Car that Ryan Reynolds drives in the film the land will contain the Coffee shop and Bubble Gum ice cream stand as seen from the film and the land will sell the Blue Lightsaber and Captain America Shield seen from the film also ok now my 3rd idea is The Hyperion Theater and Stage 12 will be demolished for a ride based on Zootopia the ride will use the same ride system technology used in Despicable Me Minion Mayhem at Universal Studios Hollywood and Florida, my 4th idea is Stage 17 will be a Lucasfilm Restaurant and Mickey's philharmagic will stay but for a limited time Muppet Vision 3-D should come back maybe for the 25th anniversary of Disney California Adventure

Again it's sad, but those hoping for more shows to come to the resort, are going to be disappointed. They aren't. More shows are leaving. Another one bit the dust today (Dr Strange). There are even more cut backs coming. Unionization can be a double edged sword.
And Now Dr Strange and the Club Pixar shows are gone or going away. DCA just gets less and leaves area's meant for shows empty.....because?

cast members are magic at Disneyland resort
Unionized CM's is the reason I think for the lack of performances at the Disney Resort.
Grizzly River Run could be tied to the Country Bears 🐻 or Brother Bear or even Pocahontas “just around the river bend” just using my imagination!
also did you hear about the Dr strange show closing? There’s a new piece of concept art that shows the sanctum as being the queue for the avengers e ticket ride. So them closing the show might mean they are finally going to start on the avengers e ticket ride
With more shows disappearing, longer closure now on red creek, and all the closures in DL..I don't think a lot of people will fall for the discounts because the park is also "cheaper" with all those missing attractions
I don’t know why they are getting rid of the Doctor Strange show by the end of June. It’s a bad idea by Disney getting rid of live entertainment. If they want to get rid of live entertainment then cancel all live entertainment Disney from the bands, dapper dans, Fantasmic, and Parades. This is very bad practice by Disney and I’m giving this idea by Disney a 👎👎👎👎👎

@@mangaz137 I was thinking that too but the only issue is that the original e ticket was going to add a secondary building right next to the hq to use as the entrance. That e ticket got cancelled and this multiverse ride e ticket is a lot different. So that is the only reason why I think it wasn’t intended to be temporary at the start.
Another interesting thing, it’ll have to be an underground tunnel in order to be the queue and get guests from the sanctum to the avengers hq building
9:30 Maybe the strikes impacted the Hyperion show pipeline.
IMO, the crowds won't be as insane as the initial, one-time $50 kids ticket. This time, they start at $150/ea. minimum. That may dissuade some.
I hope they don’t change grizzly. It’s the concept behind “California” adventure. Grizzlys, redwoods, etc. I hope they keep some element of Ca alive there.
I have been told by a CM friend of mine it is just long-needed maintenance.
As for the Hyperion, I believe it has to do with the unionization of cast members. I believe that are entitled to unionize, but Disney has a history of not liking unions that goes back to 1941.
March was busier than I've ever seen it--busier than holidays. Insane. I really wonder of summer will be crazy now.
They don't want to pay for the entertainment. We are coming out the 10th and 11th. Hopefully not too different of crowds

Love the content but I do not know if you are aware about those fantasmic ticket bundle. I went yesterday and did the package at the blue bayou and the first show got cancel with the second show also looking like being cancelled as well. Now I understand technical difficulties happen but the issues is that they cast members are not equip with the knowledge of what to do with both shows not happening. I spoke to both guest relations and a manager. I was told 2 different answer with one being your ticket is good for two days which sucks because even though I am a imagine key holder I wasn't planning to go within the next 2 days and then guest relation was like go to blue bayou and ask them so I was being ping pong and given different answers. I am going to Disney app guest service to see what they say but just wanted to bring the issue that I faced that others might.

44:28 when my daughter and I go in December we meet the coolest people on Grizzy River Run cause it's just us crazy people willing to get soaked with water when it's cold.

I also see Pixar fest and discounted tickets as an incentive to get locals into a Disneyland that currently has 5-6 attractions under refurb. Hoping the locals stay away while I’m there next week 🤪
I’m worried too. We arrive Monday and planned it seven months ago.
I’d recommend checking out the Touring Plans crowd calendar - they’re projecting only a 7/10 in crowds when I’m there, but who knows, it could change!

David, I love your videos and your attitude in general! You are truly excited to be there! Is it busier on weekdays vs weekends now? We will be going on Father's Day for a few hours and I'm guessing it will probably be pretty crowded that day. Keep doing what you do 😃
Boudin is the $hLt!!! Did you know that if you have one near you, you can join their club (free) and get a free loaf of bread every month? So worth it to swing by for a free loaf for whatever you want to use it for... even if you don't do the usual (sammiches, garlic bread, whatever) you can, say, cut it up and make the best croutons for your Caeser Salad as I am going to this weekend. Freeze it! (Works great, thaws out fresh as day one!)

Disney just cancelled the Pixar Show thing early in Disneyland. Something about New Union for performers increasing cost. Not 100% sure. But it was reported the live show will decrease more then the thin offerings now
All of us with the aid of you tube streamers can see for ourselves what attendance looks like in Disney as well wdw. Crowds are down period. A full Disneyland means you crawl down main street then go left through adventure land and crawl immediately past jungle cruise, indiana, tree house, new orlens...all the way to splash mountain. The park is no where near that 2024.
the Hyperion is Disneys new HR training conference room. You can train all your empolyees all at once. lol that would be my guess after seeing stuff come up and down. You just need a state of DCA report after hours!
Dave my take is that the cost of some productions don’t warrant the ancillary costs necessary to release the finished product. This is why things get scrapped because the tax write off is more valuable than the risk to continue to fund a project that is over budget etc.
Dave, your "State of" series is my favorite to watch! Thank you for providing such amazing insight to both parks. It is wonderful to see your amazing tips, but it also so enjoyable just to see you have a great time around Disney! Loving your work! 🤩

I thought we didn’t get the whily vs Roadrunner because it was with more as a loss. For taxes or whatever.

I think there will be some lag between June 10 and when the $50 ticket folks show up. It takes people a minute to plan a trip and come out.
Just got home from a long day at work, new Fresh Baked is just what I needed!
Last Thursday the single rider line was almost out to the entrance. Wait was 45 minutes.
I was there last Sunday and the crowds were atrocious. Maybe had to do with Grad night but made me want to consider not renewing in the future.
I think they are saving on paying for the show staff. I REALLY miss the shows
We were there on the 29th thru the 3rd! The parks were soo full!! But we made the best of it and used a lot of lightning lane passes. Lol Was hoping to see ya but never did. Oh well!

Finding quality Operators for a Live Show of "Rogers" quality is extremely difficult in this day in age...requires typical imagineer expertise... thus, Availability & 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑 become Huge factors.

Almost 200k
We were there may 19th-23rd and it was BUSY! Thank you get away today with my #freshbaked discount...we paid $26 per day/per person for genie plus when we purchased in march and was well worth it. Our daughter (8) is very ride driven and went on the incredicoaster 12x on our trip. We appreciate all you do and watched every video for the last year and a half in prep for our trip. My daughter swears she saw you one of the days we were there...
We were highly disappointed with the language being used at both parks though! Granted 3 days we were there were during grad nights...but my daughter heard way too many words that no kid should! Never going back during that time ever again! I use "adult language" myself but only in the right circumstances or times...not at Disneyland!!! Disneylands magic is for kids!!!! Please people have respect!

They should be only for children for certain days of the week I believe
They’re available on the Disneyland website, under “theme park tickets.”
You’ll see special 3-day tickets, good Monday thru Thursday only. Adults are $83/day and kids are $50/day.

I recently found my two leaflets with the maps of the parks that we got as we entered the parks. The first Pixar Fest was in 2018 and noted as such on the leaflets and was featuring the Pixar Play Parade.
Family and I will be at Disney 6/15 and DCA 6/16. Thanks for the updates on how thing are going.
