Yinz should catch that Bill and MaryAnn collab video that came aht. Friggen Peter ran the camera and Bill himself was on camera, being interviewed. 😶🌫️
Happy Friday thanks for your great videos which lift my spirits here in depressing New Jersey over how things are being handled over the virus. I feel like I’m not in America at times. I can’t wait to be back in Florida. Keep up the great work and thank you very much. Be well.
I want one so bad. I think if I ever make it rich, (millionaire rich) I’ll have a couple nice cars. Some current year European sedan, maybe a c8 vette. But I’m going to have 20-30 poor man’s classic cars. MG, Miata, c5, fox body, mr2, 240sx, and of course some 80s-00s bmw and vw products Oh and a road equipped “formula Vee.” If you don’t know what it is, I highly encourage some research. Amazing little car. Poor man’s Ariel atom if you throw some mirrors and lights on it.
I own the same one and I love it more than my authentic 66' 911 or my replica Carrera GT. It just has so much aesthetic! Great video although I have red sneakers too...lol Thanks!!
I feel most of what Bill says can be put into a book, each section starts with a car review but inevitably goes on to things Bill's noticed in life in people around him. There will probably have to be a PG version.
Vintage speedster in Arizona build them them custom so there are a lot of things you can add also different engines it don't has to be a VW they offer also Subaru with 120 PS or even Porsche engine depending what you like and how much you are willing to spend on a car like that . It usually needs a valve adjustment every 3000 miles and an oil change too The price starting at $ 35000.00 and up The reason you don't find so many in black ,it is a small car and they just don't looking that great in black
Bill, I've already told you a few times, there are sunglasses with video camera built on it. So, you will have both hands free. It cost maybe $50. Try to get one, you stubborn old man. 🤪 I love to have one with a Boxter engine on it.
Love this car...after watching Doc hollywood and being a massive fan of Marty...wanted one of these for a few years...this car can make anyone look cool 👍 selling konk 🤣
First car was a ‘68 Karmann Ghia - a Beetle with a swoopy body set up as a two seater. Modified engine with a 2-bbl. Holley “Bug Spray” carburetor, headers and a Hurst shifter, which tamed the wonky shift linkage, including a trigger reverse lockout. Biggest issue with this transmission was that 4th gear was an overdrive and a big jump from 3rd. So the acceleration just died when you hit the 3-4 shift at about 55 mph. Porsches had a closer ratio for 4th gear, which meant this didn’t happen. In this cars, the engine noise, the light weight (1500 lbs.) and the lack of any serious sound insulation meant that the “perceived speed” was much higher than the actual speed. That’s why they are fun to drive at more or less legal speeds on public roads. In 1970, VW went to a dual ported intake cylinder head and replaced the swing axle with a double jointed rear axle that maintained wheel camber as the independent suspension worked. That’s the platform you should want for building this replica. More predictable handling and better breathing for the engine.
What could be the prices of a replica of this level and also a genuine speedster? Just starting the video but assuming the price doesn't get mentioned..
You're gonna get a 4 cam 356? U thought sure that was only available for the 550? Anyway, probably a better question is the size of the engine and if it's a 1776 or larger then it's a replica. What's sad about the VW scene? Modded Air Cooled VWs kick ass!!!
Search for Nick Shabazz on RUclips. Totally different field, but you remind me a lot of him, both in terms of voice and how you speak. I wonder why this video has so many down-votes?
Wow, Bill's so lucky to have an insightful genius like you making comments; and then you were sure to add.."Thanks for the free content" but alas, you just forgot.
@@Dave.S.TT600 He's been making these videos for years and always needs his hands free. Not that hard to figure out. But thanks for your snarky comment, I'm sure it was helpful to all concerned. @@signalfire6 it hasn't been 'Free' reading your reply either; quite draining really. i'll let you get back to producing marvel movies or whatever it is you do. Later, Jerk.
Is it real? Yea I know... The same thing also happens with original/restored cars. I drive a '29 Model A Ford Phaeton. I've been asked while getting fuel if it was real. Once got asked by a smart ass teenager if I bought the car new...
“Yes it’s real” is not the answer. With something like this, I’d proudly say “no I built this in my garage”. All the fun of driving it without the fear of having an irreplaceable piece of history get totaled. Feel the same way about cobra replicas. You could never rip around a track in a real cobra without fearing the consequences of a mistake. A relics though? SEND IT! If you hit a wall, you hit a wall. Ittl suck, but it’s replaceable.
I wish I could post a picture, I had two real 356's,,,, one 1954 model D cabriolet red, and a white 1957 which a French film company gave me as a présent,, I really enjoy your channel sweets!🇫🇷❤️💋
I don't care for buying classics through car dealers. And someone who would sell them when they come and ask you hey want to sell your classic and con them and cheat them out of $ to get them is sick and wrong. I will buy mine from a personal owner public.
100000 people they will see this car......but.... only one can understand that is not original.......and the worst... to drive the original porche and all to believe is a replica........
The road test says it all..................Uh Oh , now I hear my mother's voice in my head; "IF you don't have anything nice to say......just don't say anything" I luv me sum kars, but honest to gawd, I gest don't get those no-Speed-ster thingies. Didn't get them then, and still don't. Does it have something to do with a german sense of humor? Or, Maybe I'm not squinting hard enuf?
I'm still laughing at the "knock on the fender test" comment. 🤣🤣 Bill's humor and these cars keep me entertained!
Watching this was a great way to start the weekend!
Weather report, ornithology report, history lesson and car review all in one video 😍
True that
We finally get to see the face behind the voice. My day is complete.
HoschtonBoy there is a much older video where you can see him, too.
A glimpse at 17:06….reflection on Frunk hood

Sweet review! Love those wheels. Totally retro and great.
By far the finest replica I have ever seen. Please let me know when it goes up for sale.
Working at Aardvark imports Austin Tx. 1980. Built an Intermechanica replica for a doctor. Straight time, sweet.

Perfect timing Bill! Pizza just arrived and I was wondering what to watch while I enjoy my pizza
Now only if you can find a half million dollars locked in the trunk just like the movie 48 HRS.
I consider the Speedster replicas some of the ONLY acceptable replicas. Thank you SO much for sharing.
Why is that?
Can't wait to see you review that beautiful Jaguar back there Bill.
Great review, it’s very interesting car to learn about!! Looks great from any angle!!

Coco mats, wow. That reminds me of the old MG Mitten catalog days. Didn’t know they’re still being made.
Yes. Cocomats.com makes them for any car and of very high quality. I have them in in several of my cars.
Doc Ferdy was a DUDE man! Some of the worlds bestest cars came from him man!

very nice video. What does this car sell for?
There is a PCA sticker on lower right of windshield. Wonder what the other Porsche Club members think of the car? As a PCA member, I think it!
Top Gun made this car famous. Maverick, it wasn't your fault...

One correction, chassis of Porsche and VW completely different, former safe at twice the speed
Is that a Nissan 300z turbo next to the speedster

Their very first car (besides the streamlined coupe) was mid-engined and they should have stuck with that configuartion.
Bill get a camera mount lol.
I'd love to drive it aggressively. Perhaps blip the throttle between gears just for the shizzle.
