Love the XR650L. So far i put about 1500 miles on mine. Found a 2014 with every mod done and worked suspension. Best woods bike i ever had, and i can ride to the trails. Also, im glad I'm not the only one who rides through the woods with my turn signals on 😅
😂 you got me, it was probably 45 minutes into the woods before I realized it was on 🤣. It is definitely a fun bike and not as heavy as I was expecting. Still need to get a different tire for the front.
@@CoyoteChris Lol, it's so easy to hit the turn signals by accident. I also inadvertently beep the horn at other riders sometimes 🤣. They stop and look, and I'm like ooooops!
Love the sound of that bike. I want one so bad. I went from an 1980 CR-80 to an XL-185 when i was 15 and these bikes are bullet proof. I tried to blow that bike up abused it because I was used to the 2 stroke and it just kept going, never changed the oil on it one time. I could wheelie on it like no other bike. I traded it in on a leftover 1982 CR-125 in 83. Now at 56 after owning a couple Harleys I'd like to get back to exploring. You just can't beat them for getting somewhere legal, having fun and riding home.
I agree 100% you can’t beat the old Honda’s. Indestructible for sure! I love being able to rip up the ride and hit a few trails whenever I want. Much easier than loading a ton of stuff in a truck.
Love the 650L I had one of the first, I bought it in the fall of '92 when they were first released. I still have the original brochure. I traded it in 6 months later for a '93 CR500R, another great bike, but I wish I held onto that 650L. It was a great desert bike with a lot of potential. I simply got queer for the 500. Which was also a great desert bike.
Trucked mine from NY to MT last year and rode some beautiful single track trails while I was out there. The big red pig is my favorite bike ive ever owned!
From all the bikes I’ve owned the 650 has been pretty impressive. I’m not a real big guy but the torque this bike had is really fun on the road especially through turns. 🤘🏼🔥
@@jerichobalisticmissile5985 I’ve been thinking about doing a supermoto setup. The last few times I was laying her deep in a corner the thought of my 50/50 tires crossed my mind. 🤣

Nice bike. I dont let up on people who hike on OHV and single track trails. They can literally hike anywhere, they dont have to be on our trails and act so oblivious to not get out of the way. So I make them run LOL.
@@CoyoteChris Wondering if I could ask how light the clutch pull is on the XR? I really like my KLX cuz the clutch/throttle are super smooth. Picked up a DRZ and my hand is cramped just riding it in town.
@@CoyoteChris good stuff, i checked the recent video and still saw the stock bars, i tell everyone to change off those… with more rise on the bars wheelies go wayy easy🤣
@@bxrntlife yeah I meant to say I’ve changed to pro taper grips, but I haven’t change the bars I just have the risers still. There are a few different raptor bars which ones did you go with?

@stevebrittain3807 I’m sure it changes some of the geometry but maybe not enough to feel the difference. My only issue with lowering it would be the ground clearance. A lot of the trails I ride have big rocks and the last thing I want is a hole in my engine. 🤘🏼

I just picked up a 2024 model and it’s exactly the same as the one I had in the early 90s except the color, what a great bike
@@jamespolucha8790 it’s funny how they haven’t changed other than the color. Got to love the EPA 😂
I have a BRP also and I always have to remind myself to stay forward on the seat when riding off road to get the front to bite well.
It’s definitely an awesome bike but the front tire is a bite sketchy off road. 🤘🏼🔥
