I have huge respect for this man, he answers your questions, monitors the video comments. Impressed!
Me too
True!
@eyes I hundred percent agree the sky is fantastic
I honestly have to say, I bought this as my first digital piano and I am so glad I did. If you are thinking about buying your first digital piano with the intention of learning to play piano, but are also keen to start making music with electronic elements, maybe with other instruments or a DAW, this is the perfect instrument in this price range. Also the feel is incredibly realistic and natural, I don't think it falls behind it's rivals here - not to a beginner anyway.
Whilst you can probably get more realistic piano sounds and textures with roland or yamaha models of this calibre, you sacrifice the fun this thing brings! The 700 sounds perform differently with the sustain pedal and you can get some really cool synthy effects and there's even a soundpack of a chinese street market! Also having a pitch wheel is such a bonus I think, once you start messing about with the reverb, and once you get comfortable with it tactilely, you can get some really quality sounds going even if you don't know how to play properly.
Thanks for sharing, buddy.
I have the CDP 220R and I can tell you that Casio DPs can teach you to play the piano. I suspect this newer model is no different. I have nothing but respect for their songbook too which is nothing short of excellent. It is well thought out. With basic scales and regular practice, you can really learn quickly enhanced with youtube tutors of your choice.
99% that i am getting this piano, i got an extremely good deal from an online musical instrument shop.
As always your reviews are the best Jeremy.
Yeah! GO for it in minimum range!!
Mmm, this thing does look solid, slick, practical and down to earth, with no flashy, gimmicky decorations.
I really like its design vector!
Hey Casio, why don't you make the same excellent decision for shorter keyboards?
The new CDP-S350 sounds much better than the previous CDP models :-). Really great for this price range.
This is a great channel, straight-forward and very informative. It is a great help for musicians before buying their desired instrument. Wishing the best for your channel Jeremy!
Dear Jeremy, thanks for all your amazing tips!! Finally I just bought a Casio CDP-350. I really saw many many of your videos many times, and you helped me a lot to be able to take this important decision. Whenever you have plans to come to Mexico I will be more than glad to host you and give you tips as well. Hope you like the coffee :)
Thanks buddy. I truly appreciate your kind words & the delicious coffee. 😉
Do you find the piano sounds good?
Thanks for making these videos. I have owned the Casio CDP 100 and even though it was simple it generated a leap forward in my musical abilities. Never would have considered a digital piano over a plastic keyboard but I had a music instructor who said a minimum 88 weighted hammer action keys is required to properly study. That was a pivotal moment . Now I am in the process of building a new home studio and this keyboard is definitely one I am looking at. Very grateful for your knowledge and talent.
Thank you for sharing. I'm happy to help.
There's one feature I miss on this piano: the ability to display notation on the screen. That feature is useful for those who are learning to read music and guessing the right note position
Casio is releasing bunch OF REALLY REALLY NEW COMPACT DIGITAL PIANOS. The design made me moist.
Im looking into casio now to invest another digital piano. Looking into the CASIO PX-S1000. SOLID BUILD I LIKE THE DESIGN.
CDP is really really refine now. im liking the look. but in terms sound quality and action, i think the privia is a step up of CDP series.
Jeremy I want to thank you for your thorough and informative videos. I am one of your subscribers. I purchased a Casio CDP-S350 which has 700 voices and a Yamaha MX49 which has 1000. Manufacturers seem to want to sell their keyboards based on how many voices they have. I am overwhelmed by this! I wish that they give us a few relevant voices from the past of musical history.
It's a numbers game 😥 manufacturers should focus on giving quality, useful sounds! Thank you for sharing buddy.
Part of the problem is the naivete of the public. I looked at the Privia. PX - S 1000 and 3000. The 1000 has 18 voices. Somehow we've come to believe that the S3000 with 700 voices for only $200.more is a better bargain. I have come to think 18 of the right voices is all you need.
I have had a few more days playing the CDP-S350 and the MX49. Now the MX49 is a very capable and economical instrument. Especially for music producers. But I prefer the sound of the CDP-S350. The grand piano especially. And its louder even with the MX49s volume all the way up. As I said the MX comes with a 1000 voices. To my ear(which is pretty good BTW) many of them sound alike. They could have gotten by with 100 distinctive voices and saved us from scrolling through the others.
Thanks for your detailed review... I finally decided to purchase a CDP-S350, then at the last minute, I saw an amazing open box deal at BB online for a FP-10. It was priced considerably less expensive then the Casio so I ordered the Roland instead. After watching this video and a few others I decided to cancel the order for the FP-10 and get the Casio. The FP-10 is a great piano but I feel that I will have much more fun with the CDP-S350.
With all due respect Jeremy, I think you need to kill the background music. I have to keep rewinding to hear what you have to say, especially when I listen to it late at night. Thanks
Thank you for the feedback my friend. I have since improved on this since making this video more than 1 year ago.
This is one of the better videos I have found on this instrument, thanks Jeremy!
I like how you give your sincere opinions of sound quality at 3:50 and again at 4:57 or so.
Learning how to set up our keyboard /piano is very helpful in starting out as it helps us enjoy the instrument from the beginning.
Personally, I am looking to buy a good student piano w/ some arranger functions for fun, so my focus now is on sound quality.
Thanks Jeremy for your intimate reviews!
Hey Mike, you may find this video to be of interest. ruclips.net/video/_vxC86-fxAA/видео.html
Hey, Jeremy. My pastor/worship leader was looking at this keyboard and was going to buy it, but someone heard about it and donated to us. So, now I have an 88 key awesome piano to use whenever I have free tine to go to church since I have the keys.
You comments at the end were spot on. Especially an 88 keyboard at this level should have dedicated stereo 1/4" Audio outputs, and maybe both 24" and minijack headphone outputs. The modulation control woukd be nice, but at least it has pitch bend.
Bless that person who so generously donated. ❤️
@@JeremySee Yes. I will probably go back tomorrow after my chiropractor, since I have to drop something off. I have options now. Maybe get the Keyscaoes when I get a good new laptop. For now, I think the Go:Keys, JD-XP will be fine with the Casio CT-S1 that I plan to get soon, those Audio technica headphones, and the yamaha reface CP I still must get for the portability, sounds and effects. My 30 watt JBL charge 4 speaker with minijack input put out nice soubd, too. I can do a lot when I get that Boss Micro BR/BR 80 recorder. I just need more room at home. But I can't complain.
Thank you Jeremy for so much useful information. I was watching a lot of reviews before, and finally decided and bought CDP-S350 as my first piano. Counting days to receive it!
Great choice! Have fun.
Hey Jeremy.. Greetings from India! I really appreciate your efforts on making such great , informative videos.
I need your suggestion on selecting in between yamaha p-125 and Casio cdp-s350.
Which one is better in terms of hammer action and weighted keys?? That is the only selection point me as of now.
I bought this because of you Jeremy! AND I LOVE IT! MY FAMILY LOVES IT! Thank you Jeremy See!!!
Enjoyed this review as always. I seem to go through a keyboard every 6 months. I will try this one now. Thank you for making great videos.
Jeremy. Thanks for the review and answering my earlier question. I've now bought one. My only criticism is that the keys seem rather noisy in operation.
Turn up the volume! 😉 congrats buddy.
I bought this keyboard a few months and love it. Originally I thought it might just be a "practice" instrument, however, now I have used it for several professional gigs and very happy with the performance. And how about the amazing price?! A few years ago to get a fully weighted keyboard one would easily spend above/around $2,000. Its turning out that this just may be my main keyboard for a long time.
Agreed. The CDP-S350 is truly underrated.
9:20 beat sounds identical to Bruno Mars 24K song. Wow. Nice review 👍
Sharp ears, buddy!
So would you say Casio CDP-S350 or the Roland GO-88P?.been searching videos, and reviews for the past 2 weeks! Haha. Love the videos by the way!
The Casio WP1 and Wk-7600 are still the best for entry level performance keyboards in my opinion.
I've been looking for a 88 key beginner keyboard. I don't want to get the cheapest, but not spend way too much either. It should sound and feel good and have USB MIDI out. The feel would probably be more important than the sound. As I don't know much about pianos, are there any on this list that you would or would not recommend specifically? I was originally looking at the B2, but the small price jump to the CDP-S350 might be worth it?
-Casio CDP-S350
-Korg B2
-Korg D1
-Casio Privia PX-S1000
-Roland FP-30 (or 10)
-Roland GO:PIANO88
Thanks Jeremy for the fantastic review - I bought one as it ticked all the boxes
Have fun!
Excellent Review. Fair and honest. The instrument seems excellent for the money. For me, it misses more User Rhythms. I don't get why Casio is focusing only on 10? Some keyboards like WK 7500 and ( I think) X 5000 have 100, and that's great. One can tweak the current and import new ones.
You can load and save fast to usb.
Awesome video, just bought this and now I feel so confident with my purchase! Thank you!!
Great review - thank you so much!
Complete and Clear!▶️🔊💯 Thanks so much MASTER 🙏
You're welcome!
Thanks for all your great reviews. I'm buying the e-473 After watching your review I'm sure I'm make a good choice as a beginner and music creator. Thanks
Thanks. I just bought a leftover floor model. No manual - but your video helps. I think this will work for one of my gigs!
Very nice improvement, I love how the CT-X engine are completely inherited into this compact piano.
However, strangely enough, the cheaper CDP-S100 has better piano than the S350.
That is because S100 default piano sound is different from S350 default. And S100 sample has some EQ applied from factory. In real life, S350 is definitely richer.
@@JeremySee
Actually, the S100 has the piano sample from MZ-X arranger series, while the S350 has all samples from CT-X800 plus 100 more. I would say that, of course the S350 is richer, but for the piano sounds, S100 effectively beats its own bigger brother.
My assumption is that S100 uses MXi (the processor used in MZ-X) and S350 uses CT-X's AiX.
@@JeremySee I definitely agree with the rich sounds and love layering the Grand Piano setting 16 with the mellow strings 222 or 223
Hello Jeremy,
Is this keyboard recommended for an average keyboard player, or more for professionals?
It is great for the average player.
17:50 . But if you store a piano sound of your taste in Registration Memory Bank 1, slot 1, you can access it quickly, don't you?
Yes you can.
Hello does anyone experience with these? Casio CDP 350 vs Yamaha P125 vs Kawai Es110 vs Korg D1. What should i pick? I look for stage piano with good quality key mechanics and credibility of piano sounds. Any suggestions?
I'm doing similar research right now.. it's pretty crazy how many options there are in this market.. Don't forget the Roland FP-30 :) Also the Casio Privia PX-S1000 seems like a nice option (though I'm not sure why it's similar price, but without the arranger functionality?) Did you end up buying something?
Giovanni da Verrazzano which did you purchase? I’m in the same dilemma.
How do you make the keyboard show what notes you are playing across the piano? I just bought one and I'm trying to figure out a couple things and nobody has solutions. The app will not work so I can't use that. I wish it allowed you to see the notes you're playing without accompany mode being on.
Hi Jeremy, Huge Fan!
Does this Piano come with the new AiX Sound source or the older AHL??
Really makes a difference to me!
Waiting for your reply...... Love Your Channel!
It has the CT-X700/800 sounds.
@@JeremySee So it has AiX??
Thanks For Replying!
Jeremy, appreciate your video tutorials. Could you PLEASE make a more comprehensive tutorial on learning/working the functions on the Casio S350. THANK YOU
I was at the four day 2019 NAMM show in Anaheim, California playing a diatonic harmonica for the Easttop harmonica Company. I'm surprised that you are not showing the videos taken at the Easttop Harmonica booth on two different days in which Casio set up their Casio keyboard and their famous keyboard player played for hours with two of the greatest Chromatic harmonica players in the world. Get back to us with the videos....so we can enjoy the best of two music worlds at their best.....Perhaps you lost them or they got destroyed on your trip back home. Anyways, if you don't have the videos I can upload them to my RUclips Channel for you.
Please do that , I would love to enjoy that performance, for sure... :-)
Nice review. Any idea if the arpeggiator transmits midi?
Very nice presentation and good product but I've got one issue, it isn't any mic imput, how do you think I suposse to sort it without a mixer.
Thank you!
Briefly coming back to this review: something I didn't mention before but the background music is rather intrusive and really clashes with the concept of a keyboard/piano review. I think you have dropped such background music in more recent reviews (if there, it hasn't registered).
Yes, I have eliminated backing music completely in recent videos. Sharp observation.
Thank you for your review! I am going to buy a piano, I think it will be Casio CDP-S350 or Yamaha P-125. Which of these would be the best for a completely beginner?
Despite my concerns I purchased this keyboard recently.
I'm disappointed with the Chorus control. I would have liked much more variable adjustment.
It seems I do not have Reverb control on some of the Tones. I wonder why.
All in all, I'm happy. I'm not sure about the wisdom of the all important 'function/number button and wheel' design, though.
I know it cuts down on dedicated buttons, but as you suggested, some desired buttons are missing. It would be cool if the default Tone could be selected and set.
As composer, I do have a favorite Voice/Tone.
That may be changing, as different voices can inspire new ideas.
I also miss the option of having the system remain in the transposed key I set before I turned it off. Maybe it's there and I just haven't found it yet.
I love the 'Chorus E. Piano' voice of my Yamaha P-250, but the keyboard is too heavy to carry around.
I hope that I can adjust the CASIO to make a sound as close as possible to that Yamaha Chorus E. Piano voice. It was just right. I could perhaps link the CASIO to the YAMAHA and get the CASIO to use the YAMAHA voice.
I would have liked a global Chorus and Reverb control. Oh well.
Will CASIO offer firmware upgrades?
It would be cool if they offered other Tones one could trade for.
Hey Jeremy,
Please could you advise me on what the best battery powered digital piano (that isn't casio, I do not like their signature sound) for under £500 is please? I am a beginner as well so a piano with phone connectivity so i can learn from apps would be super helpful.
Any advice would be super appreciated. Keep up the good work!!
You could go for alesis recital pro
This is really good lol. Never expected this from a casio. Ive been looking at these
1) yamaha p115 or kawaii es110
2) yamaha p255 or kawaii mp7/mp11 (mark2) or nord stage
This piano has just thrown a spanner in the works it really does sound great
Did I blink, or is there no onboard recorder? Great, found that feature on update video. This seems ideal for budding singer-songwriters who want a convincing piano experience in a low cost, highly portable instrument.
Dear Jemery your review is so amazing as usual. One thing I wanna know is what type of music you play around 10:00 with synth sounds? I often hear that type of music in Japanese Gaming and cartoons and really love it.
Hey Jeremy, I bought this piano after seeing your review and I really like it! However, when I have my tone set to piano 1-20 I've noticed I get a high pitch metallic sound if I hold the notes out. Is this typical? Is there a setting I can mess with to lessen this? Thanks!
Wow is this thing the bargain of the century of what. Amazing value for money. Well done Casio..I ll take 3 !!
Yup! It's quite special.
After looking your very nice review I purchased Casio cdp s 350. Thank you very much sir.
Have fun!
Great video BUT PLEASE DONT HAVE THE MUSIC SO LOUD IN THE BACKGROUND as I really struggled to pay attention to your voice with such busy music in the background.
Thanks for the feedback buddy.
Ditto!
I had no issue understanding what Mr See was saying. Personal pref I guess.. .but to me, seemed a good balance between the volume on the speech vs the piano. Could hear each clearly and at a level on the piano that I could get a sense of the tone quality.
@@claytonroot806 don't be rude.
I have just one question.... Yamaha P125 or this Casio model?
Which I should buy... I need a good quality hammer key with a good quality piano and string sound only
Me ha servido mucho tu presentación. ,muchas. GraciAs!!
Hi Jeremy and thanks for the reviews. I'm in between CDP-S350 and PX S1000 . Which one would you go for? I'm a beginner..
Both are fine for beginners. If you have the budget PX-S is better.
how to use registration. i want to know how to save my tone. oplease help
Thanks for the cool review! Do you say this is a better buy than the PXS-1000? This one has more grip on the keys and thats what i need. I heard u complain about the travel of the key too unrealistic on the Pxs as well. But what other advantage and disadvantages of each? I can say the PXS looks more stunning.
Great feel , great sounds and it runs on batteries .
Awesome review, thanks :)
Hi dear Jeremy at first thanks a lot for your introductions. I have a question which one do you suggest me to buy Casio CDP-S 110 or CDP-S 350 or Kawai Digital piano kdp75?
I think this seems more good than the williams rhapsody 2. Good review! Might buy this 4th of july. 😂
To me, sorry but all the WIlliams line is @#%`&&**( This Casio has best action I have ever seen on a digital. and for $500 just amazing!
I play piano for 13 years now. But I've always used an acoustic one. So now I'm about to buy a digital one and I've watched several videos review but I can't make a decision. Which one will you recommend me between the Korg B2 and the Casio CDP- S 350 ? Thanks
Its great 88 key arranger 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Jeremy, thanks for you awesome reviews. I am curious if the sound chip on those new CDP pianos (CDP-S100 and the CDP-S350) are the AiX chips similar to the CT-X5000 keyboard. If not, how do they compare? Thanks!
These are not AiX unfortunately. They are very good samples but not as good as AiX on the PX-S.
Thanks for the review. I just refresh my shopping list : ]
Great review! Please tell me about the quality of hammer mechanism. Are the keys noisy? I had some old Cdps and Privias pianos and a common issue was the keybed noise at low volumes or using headphones. Is this new hammer technology better in this sense? Thank you in advance...
Hi there, I just wanted to say thanks for the informative videos and reviews! Im a beginner pianist but an avid music enthusiast and thanks to you ive decided this is my first keyboard to start! I love the sound and versatility of it. Once question I have is for the triple peddle that I can get for this piano, does it need a particular stand or can it be on its own? Thanks in advance!
On its own.
@@JeremySee thank you sure you've really helped me out and I am glad to have found your channel!!
Great informative videos. Thanks 👍
Thanks for this video. It is very informative!
There is a deal now of this keyboard for $350 + tax (so, about $380). Worth it? Thanks!!!
I got mine for 400 and it is great
Hi Jeremy, are there any major differences between this CDP and the CDP 240 that’s exclusively sold on Amazon? Thanks!
This is a good product but I noticed there is no Aux Plug in to connect to PA system which is needed for stage performance which Casio should consider!
Can you plug this into an amplifier? What are options for playing in a bigger venue?
Also: when you pick rhythm tracks and stack two sounds, it automatically chooses the sound for you? Can you customize it?
I would like to know thos as well!!
Hello. Jeremy ....I'm a beginner, I was about to buy px s1000 but I just found out about its key weight problems which makes feel worried on how my fingers will be educated since I'll be taking private lessons with an acoustic piano and then going back home to my own one, so which one should I go for? Px s1000 or cdp s350?
Hello Jeremy
You have been a great help to me for selecting my 2nd piano. I used to play acoustic upright piano but now I am living abroad so i am looking forward to buy a digital piano. I actually want to buy Roland juno ds 88 but the price seems a bit too high for me. So I was looking around for a realistic feeling digital piano that also has midi connection and chance to use it as a synthesizer. Do you think this model worths extra money for my purpose than the Casio cdp-s100 or yamaha p 45?
Hello Jeremy, Quick question. Does this model come with a Microphone, Headset Input?
Jeremy Im trying to decide between this one (CDP-s350) and Casio Previa PX-350. Which one would you recommend out of the two? Currently they’re both priced at $499.
Hi Jeremy! Does this one have the same "lighter black key" problem that the S1000 does? Thx!
18:57 I am also SO disappointed in the fixed functions for the SP-34 pedal unit. Sadly, the PX-S3000 has the same limitation. I would like to have the SP-34 control sustain, start-stop and fill. This would have been an easy and inexpensive feature to add in the firmware.
Very very true.
Viéndolo desde mi Casio CDP-S350 😎👍🏼
I have a Casio Ctk 4400 and it appears that it almost has the same tones and rythyms with Cdp S350. It almost seem that Casio gave the ctx 4400 hammer action and no. of keys upgrade. The upgrade cost a difference of about USD 450 between the 2 instruments.
Is it true that black keys are much lighter compared to the surrounding white keys?
How much is it?
$499.95
Hi, i'm just about to start in the piano world. I want a instrument with a lot of voices but my budget is a little tight. Should I go better for a cdps 100 and use it as a midi controller when I need more voices??
Hi Jeremy thanks for comprehensive review. I need to decide between S350 and older PX-360 (touch screen, better tone and keyboard action ) for learning jazz/blues piano and organ. Could you give some advice, is there anything missing on PX-360 ?
Casio CDP-S350 Vs Yamaha DGX660. Which is better, in your opinion?
CDP S350 or PX S3000???? Wich is better???
Hi again, just wondering, does the CDP-S350 model has the same, audible shortcuts (to change sounds, for example) as the CDP-S100? Thanks as always!
S350 has a screen. Easier to see what you are selecting.
If compared with pxs1000 which is better and what are the pros and cons of buying either
Hi Jeremy, I recently bought this keyboard and it’s great!
I’m having trouble connecting my keyboard to software such as Audacity. How would you go about doing this?
You need an audio interface. Audacity works with audio inputs.
I have problems connecting it as well. Also the app for “smart control“ doesn’t work for me.
Fine job Jeremy!
How to record on the piano?
How do I connect this to speaker on stage? Would I plug into the “phones” port? The other end would either need to be an xlr cable or a 1/4in cord
Would you say the CASIO CDP-S350 has the same weighting problem where the black and white keys are different weight like in the casio px s1000 and 3000?
This is probably a better designed piano than the Privia Series. And if you are going to cut down on1/4 inch line out, at least change the headphone output to 1/4 inch instead because they are stronger and more reliable.
Please review the cdp s360 it seems too good for its price and I recently bought one, I'm waiting for its delivery
Hi Jeremy, does the CDP-S350 have the same tones as the PSX-3000?
Same sounds. Different sound engine.
Great review Jeremy, you are a big help when choosing a keyboard. What about the 64 note polyphony on the cdp-s350, is this going to be a limitation when creating multi-instrument songs? These would be of beginner level by the way.
Not a huge limitation.
what's the difference between this and the px s1000 is the s1000 better sound and keyboard action. dont know which one to buy around the same price. thanks
