    Thank you FlyBy Simulations for honoring the Queen in this way! I appreciate this video so much! 😄
    The detail here comes from a 747-8f which I rode on. Areas which I did not capture I had to use my references from the better 747-400. I have received enough compliments about the wear and tear so I will be looking into doing a cleaner version. This involves me finding a newer 747-8 and travelling to who knows where on it to make it happen, which should happen shortly.
    I am using the default model so the repeating textures and all UV maps are from the default model. So whoever made the model decided to use the same texture on many of the buttons and switches and the covers. I had to use a lot of clever tricks to hide errors in the default model and one of those trade offs was directly on the switch covers. As usual I continue to look into solutions for this. Regardless, I think this really brings the plane to life and I hope you all can experience this for yourself!
    Thanks a ton you guys rock! -Mike ✈

    I understand the added realism if you add a little (and by that i do mean: a little) wear into the flightdeck, but to be honest, this looks like it has been rusting away for 3 weeks on the bottom of the ocean. I think this is what happens when you do it peace by peace, you miss out the total picture. I honestly think it's too much. But seeing the reactions here, there are many people who think differently about it, so good for them, and good for all of us that there are still so many developers making nice stuff for us.

    • @FlyBySimulations
      @FlyBySimulations  8 месяцев назад +5

      That’s a fair comment mate. I have to say it looks very weird down, I personally like a worn down look (but as you said only a little). The developer has promised free updates in the future as well so let’s see where it goes:)

    • @olli.6104
      @olli.6104 8 месяцев назад +2

      Tbh you only find that extreme wear on the -400 variant. The -8 cockpit is pretty sleek.

    • @subsonicflighttraining
      @subsonicflighttraining 8 месяцев назад +1

      It is too much. I agree with the comment that it looks as if it has been rusting in an old garage. The Guards on the Alternate/Momentary Action switches look like they are made of an ice cube or cracked windshield. DRIVE DISC switches do not get touched in the jet and are wired closed, yet they have scratches all over them? Even in the simulator, it does not look this worn and the colors are horrible. Nothing wrong with a jet that looks new, I have flown in enough that look used and abused...

    • @irvingvargasengineeringrules

      This comment is spot on. It looks like a 747-400 before going to Goodyear… some wear and tear is ok, that cockpit looks really worn and filthy

    • @gregpugliese
      @gregpugliese 8 месяцев назад

      For what it's worth, the developer apparently based his work entirely on photos from a real cockpit, so there must be at least one 747-8 out there that really does have this much wear.

    As a person who has been in the cockpit of 747-300 and 747-8, I can say that the signature brown color of the panel is very far from reality. And the cockpit of an 8-year old 747-8 Cargolux, which I have been in compared to the one in the video, looks brand new. Maybe someone likes to fly in a "public restroom" but not me.

    Considering Mugz & Adi S cracked that together in 2021 & have ever since then, that Liveries has been able to be done properly then it is strange that you use this livery (unless it was a real Qantas livery).
    Death Actual is to thank for the Freighter Mod currently available since May 2022 & the New Freighter Model coming out soon as opposed to a Mod.
