I’m so glad you didn’t retake that introduction…I was laughing so hard. Haven’t laughed like this in awhile (thank you). That you chose to keep it in made me love y’all even more.💗
I love all your videos. I’m a newbie. Only been WFPB for 12 weeks now. I’ve learned so much from your videos plus Plantstrong coaching group. Charlotte
lol, you two crack me up. I love peanut sauce. Sometimes I add lime juice or lime leaves to it (super cheap and found at Asian grocers). I drop it all in a jar and shake it up. Use it on everything - but it is a favorite on salads.
I just received my copy of Be a Plant- Based woman Warrior! I’m so excited to try all the recipes. I appreciate that many of the recipes have a shorter list of ingredients. Love you both! Thank you for being my ongoing encouragement and inspiration.
Thanks for getting back to the whole reason I began following your channel. Ann, you crack me up. We bibliophiles have so many words fighting in our brains that it is difficult to keep them straight. LOL-instant replay! Wherever you would have peanut sauce--lol--everywhere except on lemon mouse.
Thanks for the recipe, the info on PB2 Pure and NOT using a machine to make it. I left out the hummus, sweetened with date powder and added a bit of Thai chili garlic sauce. Delicious! I had stopped making peanut butter dressing because of the fat content of peanut butter. Looking forward to now making a black rice noodle salad bowl and dressing it with this!
Had to watch more than once (for another good laugh)!😂 Looks like a great recipe similar to something I've been making, but elevated with the fresh ginger! Thanks for all of your entertaining and delicious videos. BTW, I recently bought a powdered peanut butter (online) from a company called PB&Me. They make one that has no added sugar or salt and is organic. I'm enjoying experimenting with it in recipes. So glad I found this recipe of yours where I can use it! 😋
I was (am) a peanut butter addict so can’t have it in the house. I use sugar/salt free PB2 that I buy at my local no-name grocery store (No Frills) in Ontario Canada. I add a bit of water and often eat it with an apple. I also use it in asian recipes. Peanut butter would ‘call to me’ but this doesn’t I’m happy to say. Thanks for your videos. You’re stars. 🌟🇨🇦🥰
I dont use any maple syrup in my peanut sauce. I do use alot of fresh ginger & garlic that brings out the flavors for my family. thank u for the tip on the difference of the PB 2. I will check mine as that is so important.
I hope someone can answer this... I realize maple syrup is less processed than sugar so may contain a tiny amount of nutrients and a slightly lower GI, but it is still just sugar without fiber, and soooo pricey on a tight retirement budget! Is a mix of dates and unrefined brown sugar really that big of a difference considering I use it very infrequently?
Mmm looks so good must try it. I don't think we have pb2 in my country so I might try making peanut milk to get the fat out and then bake the leftover pulp, which I guess is similar.
Can anyone recommend how much date syrup, date sugar, or date paste I would substitute in place of the 2 teas Maple syrup? Or any other whole plant substitute? Thanks!
Does Dr Esselstyn approve of this sauce for his patients with known heart disease? I thought he disapproved of all nuts except a tablespoon of walnuts and no added sugars at all. I know he said in an interview a few years back something like “… that is to say, you can still have a bit of maple syrup on your pancakes once a month but realize that by doing this you are still harming your endothelial cells.”
If you catch his interviews, he admits it would be OK to eat "one nut" but to quote him, "who can eat one nut?" This sauce seems safer, as long as you don't drink gallons of the stuff. Just be sure to use their hummus recipe. Most store-bought hummus has lots of fat, either because of tahini, or because of added oil (or both).
@@tamihoenig2914 From a Facebook community that is specifically for followers of Dr Esselstyn's *Reversal* food plan: From a 2013 interview, Esselstyn was asked if there were any changes he would make to his 2007 book. He spoke of the high nitrate veggies being so important and then said "The other thing we did not know when the book was written is that one of the real rascals in this whole thing is sugar. Maple syrup, molasses and honey were in our book. We can't do that anymore. Fructose injures the lining of the blood vessels. Even orange juice or apple juice. It is fine to eat an orange or an apple, but when you have the juice, the sugar is separated from the fiber and the absorption is so rapid." And also: AVOID ALL HIGH FAT FOODS like nuts, peanuts. nut butters, coconut, avocado, tofu, coconut, seeds (see flaxseed reference below) An olive or two as a condiment is fine. A few edamame as a garnish is fine.
So given this read: ...Tahini also has selenium. It acts as an antioxidant and helps lower inflammation in the body. Read her husband's book "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Caldwell B. Esselstyn, Jr., MD. His very low fat diet is designed to (and effective at) reversing already existing heart disease. It's truly amazing. He is also featured in the documentary "Forks Over Knives" which you can find on youtube.
Dr. Esselstyn test protocols call for no nuts because of the fat in nuts, but that is for people with serious cardiovascular problems. Nuts may help with those issues. Read about the controversy and decide for yourself. Some people avoid nuts because nuts are a high density food (with a high percentage of fat), but some research indicates that nuts don't make people fat. You have to decide for yourself. Sunflower seeds give me acne (as does chocolate) so I avoid these two items, but I eat every other nut, seed and legume (like peanuts and soy nuts, etc.).
Heart-Healthy Peanut Sauce Put into a bowl or jar, there is no need to use any blender. 3 Tbsp of TB2 PURE peanut butter powder 3 Tbsp hummus (without tahini, homemade) 2 Tbsp water 2 Tbsp brown rice vinegar 1 tsp fresh minced ginger 2 tsp maple syrup 1/4 to 4 tsp red pepper flakes, to taste Use it as a dip for raw vegetables like sweet peppers, etc.
Use the contact info on his website and include not just your email address but phone #, too, because many times the doctor himself will phone people who write to him.

Every vegetable, and grain and some fruits like avocado, etc has some oil. You only need enough omg 3 and 6 and you get that from the whole foods you eat on a whole food, plant based, SOS free, diet.
Yes lets not eat any fats, and age as... beautifully as you two! No thanks. I tried that route... i lost my period and started looking really exhausted and sad... at only mid 30s. Whats your issue with Tahini?
Like Grundy against oats?
Body eats calories first, fat second, carbs last, so not thinking fat a blanket answer here

Lectins are not an issue if you soak or cook your food, so eat those oats and other whole grains.

Dip sugar snaps in it
Ohh my I laughed so hard watching this video 😆
I am struggling with a powder so far off the real thing. Isn't it best to have food fresh and as less processed as it can be?
Yes, but with the fat and sugar removed it's not as much of an issue. Don't drink gallons of it in one sitting, just flavor your food with it.
I was wrong. My deepest apologies. It is gluten free! Yippee 🥜🥜🥜🥜
Where's the garlic? I make this all the time, but golly, it cries for garlic.
Thanks for reminding me! Garlic is the best.
Heart-Healthy Peanut Sauce

3 Tbsp hummus (without tahini, homemade)
2 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp brown rice vinegar
1 tsp fresh minced ginger
2 tsp maple syrup

Use it as a dip for raw vegetables like sweet peppers, etc.
