I have had the big one for a long time, it takes up a lot of space, has huge cartridges that seem to last forever ( except my favorite, repositionable, which I have had to replace once or twice in over 15 yrs. ) I also have the 9" green one ( never used ) and a 5" and smaller....but the new streamlined...and let's face it...we never have enough space !!! This is on my wish list, big time !!! Thank's for the video :)
I have the Eutopia version but havent used it yet, but Im liking this one better because I like the fact you dont have as much wasted gluey areas, that you can use a smaller cartridge for smaller jobs. Most helpful.
I love Xyron period. Already have the older 9" and it's fine cuz I can lay lots of items at one time. But I guess for new to Xyron folks this will save on space. TFS another great vid for us.
I want this so bad. I truly love the fact they made it to use the other cartridges. That is such a negative with other products when they make it new but you have all the refills that you can't do anything with!
Thank you for a great review. I've been looking at that. I have the old xyron from when they were doing stone scrapbooks.and chiseling the journaling lol. I just shared your review of the Magical with an OCC group run by Jennifer Mcquire, Kristina Werner and Jen Rasca. Great water coloring tech class.
I have had four different size machines (sticker maker, 5 inch, 9 inch, and wider creatopia machine) for many years.. I tend to not use them as often as I would like as the refills can be quite expensive (always need to get them on sale or with a coupon for sure) and you really need to plan things out as to not waste lots of the product. I do love the perm adhesive hold and laminating as well .. works great .. Sometimes there is residue left behind, but if you take a bone folder and burnish around the edges and in open areas before lifting the celophane it helps... I also thought I just saw something, thin on QVC or HSN thet Xyron was considering more recyclable type items which would be great for sure.
+aacaptainswife I do use coupons for refills...and I will try to tuck a lot of little embellishments in if I have leftover space... I like to be economical. You can see I ran foam, a metal embellishment and a wood cut out all at the same time to get the most out of my cartridge.
I have the big green one and am sad that they have come out with this. It looks like it takes up less room and would be cheaper to buy the smaller cartridges. Thanks for the demo.
I guess this video is more for someone that had the _old_ version of the device. I was looking for a way to make decals but stickers could work too. I think I understand what's going on but I will still have to search for a more complete description about the various material options it might offer. It would have been useful to see the process from start to finish and see results of the operation put into a final project. I still gave you a _like_ just because you took the time to make a video. Thanks.
I got this when it was new on HSN and it came with extra cartridges and I love it. I do not have any problems with using it and its really nice with small die cuts and velum. thanks for a great video.
Hi Jenny, thanks for the review. Do you know how long the stickiness would last for the xyron?? I am sure a lot of env factors can affect it, but wondering if you have some projects stored the same way, using glue, tape and xyron? Thanks...
I find the Xyron has lasted WAY longer than my Darice tape runners...those older books have fallen apart. Glue will probably have the best longevity, but you just can't use wet glue for everything.
I bought the smallest Xyron and I was so disappointed with it because I bought it for small shaped cut-outs and it leaves all that glue residue around the edges, and this was so easy to avoid if the sticky part that it puts t your cut outs had a dotted pattern, but it doesn't, so it leaves all that residue on uneven edges... I didn't like it, it is a pitty I bought it with an extra cartridge, I haven't even used the first one. If they start selling dotted pattern adhesive sheets, I will give those ones a try.
+Manualideas Fancylooks you can also rub the eraser over the top of the clear part of the xyron tape before removing it. Another fun thing, during the holidays, leave the excess tape, & sprinkle it with micro glitter!
Do you own any of the past Xyron machines? I have the 850, 900, 510, X, and the 4 inch roller. This looks flimsy compared to the other models. Wondering if you could compare it to the past models. The 850 is practically bullet proof, the 900 has the great detachable trimmer, the 510 super convenient and very sturdy. Xyron really makes wonderful products, hope this is another one. Is it?
+Paperista I have had them all! This is a thinner profile and might be seen as less "sturdy"-- but I wouldn't call it flimsy. I'm going to donate the other machines and keep the cartridges! :)
I like the idea of the ease of the system but the catridges are rather expensive and there seem to be a lot of wasted product which should be some how recycled
Well, since the cartridges are still the same, pick the size that works best for you! I like the flexibility of this one, but you may find older versions cheaper at discount stores like Tuesday Morning. :)
CraftTestDummies - I didn't get to finish my comment for some strange reason, but I think I will be hanging in there for the improved version like you suggested. I like the idea of having 3 sizes to chose from. Thanks so much for your help.
QUESTION : when you put the objects in the machine and "laminate" them.. does only the object have the sticky side on them or is it the whole sheet that comes out have the sticky on it? .. do u get what im asking?????
+rebecca stratton Let me see if I can explain adequately: You place the object into the machine. When you roll it through, it attaches the object to the plastic laminating sheet AND attaches sticky on the bottom. So you get adhesive on the plastic laminating AND your object. EVERYTHING is sticky.
I love it but I feel like so much is wasted. Especially when making a magnet. Even when using the 5 inch. There is no way to reuse what has already come out us there?
+lvmykdzz sadly, no. Once you run something through there is not much to work with. Although you could use the scrap magnet I guess for some project. However, You may be excited to learn that at the trade show this year they have unveiled a new 5 inch creative station. So that size might be more appropriate for you.
Hi I m New at this, I got this station. I took mine out of box .I didn't see a 5' refill. do I have to purchase one. lol if so where and what cartridge refills do I get. I only want to make sticker. I got mine at Michael's I ask him if I had everything I needed he said yes. is there a number to look for cartridge. I'm embarrassed to even leave this comment. I don't see a model number.
+kay layton According to the box, a 9 inch adhesive refill is included. If you need additional refills (5 or 9 inch ones) you need to buy them separately.
So glad they did not change the cartridges! Thanks for the review. I didn't realize all the different types of cartridges available.
I really was interested in this space saving model. I have many of the Xyron machines but this is great! Thanks for sharing.

Awesome demo! Now I’m sold!

I really like the sleekness of this one!

+Mari Nyx Thanks so much! :)
CraftTestDummies can you make tiny stickers with this and how?
This was really helpful just received it in the mail yesterday.
I have a xyron 5 inch creative station and i love it!

+aacaptainswife I use a rubber eraser to lift up the little bits of leftover goo. Works like a charm!
Thanks, I will certainly try that...
That's pretty neat. Thanks for the review.

wanted to see how "project" turned out like the very last one (was it laminated with sticky back or just sticky back?)
I think there is a combo laminate and permanent adhesive cartridge they sell but I can’t seem to find it. Any suggestions?
Very cool. Tfs Shirlene
I like the looks of this product, but am worried about the environmental impact of the plastic. Is it worth it over glue?
is the final outcome will stick on cloth?
Yes, but not permanently

+Manualideas Fancylooks All you need is a rubber eraser. Rub gently along the edges, and it will lift up those little sticky bits. :)
+CraftTestDummies Oh, wow, thank you, I didn't know that, I will give them a try then!

+Helene Sue Thank you, Helene Sue, for this glittery and fun-tastic idea!
Is it cheap because I'm a kid 8 years old and really want that

Is it possible to create a partial (just on the top) adhesive area?
No- it's meant to cover the whole thing. However a sticker paper would work as you could cut it in strips first. Try this: amzn.to/2OOtxKK
I love it but I feel like so much is wasted. Especially when making a magnet. Even when using the 5 inch. There is no way to reuse what has already come out us there?

i cant get the magnet feature to work at all
+Karen Gravatt Hi Sometimes the laminate and the magnet get stuck on the white cartridge, be sure they are free and it should work.
What did you use to load the tiny pieces
Marjorie Morris are use my fingers, but you could always just use some tweezers.
wow so cool
does this laminate like the old machine? ?
mysister&i show yes indeed. It uses cold lamination. And the same cartridges from the old machine fit the new ones.
Thanks!! ☺
Thank YOU!!!
