    I really appreciate how Warrior Collective videos give numerous repetitions of each combo/technique. Really helps to get it ingrained in my mind and is easier to practice when I'm drilling/practicing. Plus, I don't have to keep replaying the video. Thanks for these awesome videos!

    This stuff is great, actually gonna teach this to a few of my students and training partners who are on the shorter side. A lot of this is really good for shorter martial artists.

    Solid, I really needed this cause the prof's assistant allows no one to get close to him. Whenever you throw a jab at him he always counters by disgusting teeps onto the solar plexus. Good job Stew, ++

      Guys who come from a solid Muay Thai background often have a horrible teep! Hence why you need some solid options for dealing with it! Not a problem, I am just glad you enjoyed it!

      I often find female and lighter weight fighters have better technique than heavier guys because they have to. Some of the most technically proficient athletes I know are women and are capable of utilising this effectively against much bigger training partners on a regular basis i.e. welcome to the life of most women in any combat sports gym ha ha!! Glad you loved this video as much as I do!!

    Scooping the rear teep with that front hand really leaving you open for a question mark kick same side in my opinion. Could maybe get away with it once but an experienced fighter will exploit it. Just my opinion.

    I suppose it's fine if you catch teep like this even from the inside? From what I've understood it's riskier to counter, same way slipping a punch to the inside is?

    Nice stuff, I noticed she doesnt return to protecting the shin after "scooping" with the left and returning with the right cross, left hook and finish with the kick.
    Is this the way it was meant?
    Maybe sacrifising defense for som additional power?
    I prefer the other way around. I reckon you would be able to do pretty much the same speed.
    Thanks for a nice video!

    Good technique, try to work on the girl's muscle memory, everytime she throws anything, even just a round kick, she is adjusting her right glove with her left hand. It;s a bad habit, don;t let it stick...Other than that, great video, some unorthodox stuff as well. From a fellow trainer...

    How to kill your opponents teep if they have terrible form

    • @whoknows8223
      @whoknows8223 3 года назад

      Yeah man I thought the same. The teep looks sloppy. Even in drills the other guy should throw realistic punches/ kicks with. Otherwise it wont help you in real sparring/fighting.

  • @dfpguitar
    @dfpguitar 6 лет назад +1

    Shouldn't it be Leigh wearing the belly protector so you can teep in a way that you will actually make contact? Obviously you are not teeping with any intended force, but it looks like you are totally out of range meaning Leigh doesnt even need to grab your foot, so she cannot actually do the demonstration.

  • @Taylzz
    @Taylzz 5 лет назад +1

    Feels like she would fly through the wall If he threw a proper roundhouse. 😁

  • @justinsnyder6881
    @justinsnyder6881 7 лет назад +3

    What happens when someone fakes a teep so you drop your hand to scoop and get round house in the head?

    • @warriorcollective
      @warriorcollective  7 лет назад +13

      With any given tactic in combat sports nothing is unbeatable, this is just one (very effective) way of dealing with an opponents teep in Muay Thai. Obviously when the other fighter gets wise to this and starts to feint/fake more, you have to mix up this defence with body movement and footwork. It is all part of the game!! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, I hope you enjoyed this great video from Gaz and Leigh!!

    Sharp and Crisp, id recommend More drive/follow through on the back kick. Mostly for show and tell purposes id imagine you not doing that to your coach or sparring partners,
    but you want penetration not snap to really drive that shin into the kidneys.

    • @warriorcollective
      @warriorcollective  7 лет назад +4

      I think you hit the nail on the head here, Leigh was only trying to demonstrate for the cameras and was not going full pelt. When being applied full power you would obviously aim for more penetration, drive and explosiveness! She is a sharp one I can tell you ;-)

    • @brianrhodes7292
      @brianrhodes7292 7 лет назад +1

      Absolutely its a great technique, and its a show stopper. Nothings shittier then being downed by a body blow.
      Thank you both for sharing, i loved the presentation. Its also equally impressive she could hit that target flush on a tall guy like yourself, and still hold balance while being so sharp.
