    I have wasted so much of my life by selecting contours continuously instead of letting Fusion "connect the dots". I love that there is always something to learn! thanks for the video.

      Yeah, it's pretty slick. You will find a hiccup or two along the way, but usually it works really well. I sort of treat it like a game now. "How can I machine this without drawing or projecting geometry"? This is also one of my favorite training parts. There are so many things that I can use it for to help demonstrate different tools. Defeaturing, contour selections, 3D ball milling, 5 axis toolpaths, patching. I could probably think of more things too! haha

    Not only did this video answer my question but it gave multiple ways to solve the problem and answered 3 more questions I didn't know I had. I'm happy.

    This is a time saver! I have watched ever other video on contouring and not a single one has showed this and solved my problems. Thank you very very much sir!

      Hi. Glad you found it useful. I find people often struggle with this. When I program I try to play a little game to not draw sketches unless i absolutely have to. This contour selection often goes a long way to achieving that.

    As always Kevin great video. I also have spent hours an hours trying to select the lines. This has helped a lot. Looking forward to using this info. Thanks for your 360 help

      Thanks again Sam. This is one of my favorite training parts. It's good for showing chaining as well as a lot of other things as well.

    That is really usefull. Like the others, I've wasted hours of my life trying to figure out contour selection. Thanks for posting such a useful vid!
    In fact it's so good I might even forgive you for saying "go ahead and..." 50 times in 11 minutes - that's pretty good going ;-)

      Sorry. I’ll try to be mindful of that in the future. It’s a bit odd trying to do these videos, talk coherently, not make any mistakes, and try to give a good demo. Sometimes when I hear things I said I just shake my head.

    How about when you have a 3d surface and you are trying to machine out a window like this but the 3D surface isn't a flat edge so the selection is weird... what is easiest fix for that ?

    Always enjoy the videos, I have one question have you tried this in the simulator?

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  4 года назад

      No, but I’m sure it’s terrible. I didn’t rough the part out first and I’m pretty sure the tool isn’t long enough the holder is crashing into the part. This video was only trying to show contour selection methods. Glad you are enjoying the videos and thanks for the comment.
