i really resonated with this video. I knew of lilith due to the bible but i never really saw her as "evil" as most people believe. I really enjoy your explanation on this portion of her. you were very neutral and not one sided. I also like the pictures that are used in all your videos. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, rituals and writings, they have been most helpful.

Im currently reading your book, Embracing Lilith and it's absolutely eye opening.
I've read the book of Lilith by robert brown, which comes from old scrolls said to have been written by Lilith herself.
But it gets confusing trying to put them both together, but regardless they're both eye opening when reading about who Lilith is

It's very hard to bring it all together because there are so many avenues to go down. Mesopotamian, Jewish, occult, etc.... You can't put her in a box and so it makes it super difficult to bring it together.
Thank you for the kind words.. I love that it's been eye opening1!!! Thank you!

I just learned about this. I learned that Yahweh is a trickster deity who probably is a form of El. So my theory (i don't believe in this story, more like appreciate it) is that she was a human created out of clay. She then was beginning to be treated poorly by Adam. She had enough of the mistreatment. So she committed the most "blasphemous" thing she could have done. She called out Yahweh's true name "El" exposing that he is not the one and only true god but also destroying his control over her. There was no more tricking Lilith. She then became a demon because of this. Forming her own paradise and having true free will. And basically doing whatever she wants.
Will admit it though, she is pretty cool in the Adam and Lilith story

El and Yahweh were both Canannite deities. El sometimes just meaning God. Baal is also Canaanite - which means Lord. El, Yahweh, & Elohim, were brought over while any of the others were named demonic because of the rivalry between Canaan and Israel/Judah.

@@markh.williamsauthor7286 That i did not know, because i thought that judeo-christians were inspired by El not full blown adopted him. That explains a lot because El is also a trickster. Basically they brought El over to judeo-christian religion and gave him the same characteristics, etc. Just under their own culture and domain

@@calmingnight3376 Yes.. and Yahweh was a storm god In Canaan originally. In the Hebrew.. Genesis 1 uses the name, Elohim (whis is god and goddesses - literal translation) and then Genesis 2 uses the name Yahweh. There is a belief that there were two types of Jewish tradition the El branch and the Yahweh branch. It's interesting stuff. A lot is taken from Canaan and Mesopotamia. It makes sense since Hebrew, akkadian, Assyrian, and Canaanite are all semitic languages - so connections in language and culture.

and Asherah was used by both the Canaanites and the Jewish people. She was the Mother and wife of Yahweh (in judaism). They stop worshipping her because of the Canaanite use of her. So, they broke off all worship and burned the Asherah poles.

@@markh.williamsauthor7286 All makes sense tbh. Because i do remember watching a documentary awhile back ago of how there was a temple. And in that temple yahweh's altar was still up. While Asherah's was missing. Not because of storms or anything. But more of a, it went missing
