I think most of the hate comes from AA shifting away from metal core and a lot of screaming like they did when they started. I hear a lot of the same criticism for Avenged Sevenfold in that regard.
Because there were years in which he hardly did screams. Last year he took many singing lessons to have a good scream technique, because before after each concert he was damaging his vocal cords and that's why he didn't do them so often, now with a technique of using his voice he can do screams without damaging himself.
Imagine if more singers/screamers learned to do it proper before they blow their shit out. Fuuuuuck. Still sounds amazing. Also fuck the haters. At a live show, play a fuggin recording of the screams, idc. Playing the songs is just bliss.
