Looked through the cards. It does seem that you will draft more lands than monsters. Many of the monsters are relatively expensive though. The land cards also do not reset in value when used. Maybe the resource to creature/action card ratio was skewed because of that. I hope this makes sense. They may have monster card expansions planned. Let’s hope so. Going to play this with the gaming gang on Monday. Will rate it then.
You can easily fix this with house rules. Put the lands in a seperate pile. Every season you reduce the amount of lands you mix in. Should give enough balancing
1. I like your honesty, even so this time the reasons for 6.5 scores don’t seems detailed enough. Maybe it is only me but I expected for more depth, if that makes sense. 2. As I know your taste, I think you might (really) like the new game: COFFEE TRADERS. Anyway, at least I’m quite curious about your experience and impressions once you’ll get to play it.. (Seems sooo crunchy)
Sorry about not providing enough detail for ya. It’s been a while since I played it but I remember the main reason it didn’t get the best rating is that in the last round, it’s possible to have a lot of land cards come out, and it’s super disappointing when that happens. I wish I could five you more detail, but it’s been so long, that wouldn’t be fair. I did like the game, though…just the last part that soured me a bit. I need to check out coffee traders. It’s been on my radar since I heard about it. Do you like it quite a bit?
@@MeepleTown Thank you for the kind response. I understand what you're saying now about the land cards. I've heard about it from more people. Always makes me wonder how and why should a drafting-champ-designer as RG made such a thing. I guess geniuses have also make mistakes. I didn't try Coffee Traders yet. This game is new and expensive. But I keep my eyes and ears for its reviews and I hope that soon (enough) yours will be one of those reviews ;) Cheers!
I keep coming back to this game, on the fence to purchase it because I love drafting games and I love the art, but I already own better drafting games, so I never pull the trigger. Perhaps if they release an expansion, but it probably didn't sell enough copies to warrant that.
You might quite enjoy this game. The issues I had with it made me give it away to Dean, but he really likes it. I agree about an expansion...doubt it’ll happen, but you never know.
Why is there so much money with it? We played two three player games and never used all the ones even, is it possible I'm missing something that you get money for?
let's get it 💪🏾 💯
Great review, thank you! I wasn't aware of Meeple Town before, I'm going to look you up in social media...
Fantastic! Welcome to MeepleTown :) - Jon

I was thinking the same while watching the review... 😀

Just go this game! This looks like a winner.

I've been on the fence for long as well but finally I picked up a copy...
