A two second untied world record on a ~20 second stage in a 25+ year old game is absolutely INSANE! GGs to the rest of the GE speedrunning community lmao
@@pigs6486 Don't know for sure, but there's an 18 TAS floating around that uses faster strategies and still got a high decimal 18. So I'd imagine this has to be an incredibly high 19. 18 should not ever be possible for an actual player and we'll see if 19 ever even gets tied.
Thanks for the mention of the 0:23 untied on here, even though Boss tied it so quickly lol. I put in a fair amount of hours for 0:21 between 2015 and 2017 but just couldn't clutch a run. The 4th camera angle is brutal when at that speed, the lens faces away from you vs toward you.
Perfect Ace is just one of a kind. A true champion of his craft who now doesn't publish new WRs just for the praise but only if he is truly satisfied with his time. Can't wait to see how far he can reach and how many more new WRs he can come up with.
@@newerest1 I would bet that at a certain point (after ungodly many hours), you'll get the muscle memory and timing to shoot the cameras down more than one would reasonable expect
The 20 and 19 runs were surprisingly exactly what I was thinking. "Can you drive by that corridor cam? Can you luck out one pistol shot on the last camera?" Sometimes it's the simplest option. But the most difficult one. Of course some extra tech in to cement it at 19. Imagine doing your own personal hoard.
I remember watching his streams when he was playing for 0:20, he was pretty much consistently hitting all of the cameras except for the fourth and pacing 0:20 almost every run. Dude's great.
Yeah, he's a hitman, for years I've loved watching him play the first room in control after coming out the lift, its art. Imagine, a level like this is just 4 seconds slower than Achives Agent
Congrats Ace! While I'm not fond of hoarding WRs, absolute kudos to Ace for owning up to you about tying your record before choosing to sit on it... fair play. 👍
This will probably upset so newer runners, but it's nice to see the OGs like yourself and Ace still holding so much record ground in this game. It is a love of having started the game from when it came out and playing it conventionally for enjoyment, to later wanting to optimize the game. It makes a huge difference and the anecdotal evidence speaks for itself.
I’m from the other end of the spectrum. Knew of him for years as a GE speedrunner and still can’t believe he’s a popular youtuber! Not that he doesn’t have the talent and puts in the work, I just never saw it coming and then one day, boom. So cool.
Always great to see a new Goose video, especially one marking such a remarkable achievement. Amazing to see Ace continue to push the limits of the game.
I played goldeneye yesterday on emu for the first time in like, 14-15 years. This game was light years ahead of its time. the gunplay is still so satisfying and fun.
HOLY SHIT THAT WAS INCREDIBLE, RAYAN IS A GOLDENEYE SUPERSTAR Dude, I've seen many speedruns, but it's rare that I have that much experience playing the games or levels I watch to the extent that I can really grasp how awesome a run is. I appreciate them, but I don't often really fully "get" it, nor have much experience trying things like what I see, but this level is something I've done many times, not speedrunning, but going pretty quickly, also shooting at those freaking cameras. Between you and Karl covering it, this record has me pumped. Unless something absolutely game breaking is discovered I have an extremely hard time believing this record will ever be tied let alone beaten. Keep up the good work Goose! I always love to see more Goldeneye videos
Ace is one of those people who has an insane determination to work hard and accomplish what he wants to. He has an interesting life story, and I'm rooting for his success in life.
Right now he is champion by 100 points despite having several really easy records he can grind out. His Runway 00 time is 37 and he could easily get that to 34 (Bossman's time and nowhere near the record) gain 25 points and make 1:10:59 from that one stage alone. Instead he's here untying his own untied.

Well, that was amazing from Ace and I thought this video was so damn concise and yet thorough. Thanks for carrying the torch, Goose and remarkable this just keeps happening!
Yeah I'd say I agree. A 2 second untied would be crazy on something like Silo, Control, or Train...but on a stage as short as *BUNKER* is out of control Ace man I tell ya, he's truly on another level
That is incredible, it seems to be a perfectly played and mastered stage. No time save and just incredible skill with the camera shots. I imagine maybe you could maybe get a few more frame perfect movements with tas, but nothing remarkably better, I mean everything seemed to be played near perfect as is or maybe even perfect. Unless some new strat were ever to be revealed. I had always wondered how many levels this game might get perfect masteries of and be unable to achieve a world record again in it. It's still pretty cool how much this game is just explored in incredible proofs of concept and strategy.
That third camera shot is fucking insane, but how did he hit the fourth one? It’s not just that it sees like it was only in view for one frame but it was the tiniest little dot in the corner and the second you notice it’s there. He’s already done with the run because he just ran past and shot it perfectly.
@@logasoba I imagine it's because of how long the game goes back into history. It goes back before you could reasonably upload or even record everything you got.
