Donna is only ever broken when it is pointing towards her in any way. Seriously, if this case was targeting towards Mike or Louis or even Rachel and Donna and nothing to do with it, Donna would side with Harvey and say you have to trust him. Don't overcomplicate it, people. Yes, Donna wasn't wrong for being desperate for some comfort, she had every right. But Harvey is, too, only human. And if the man only has exactly one card to play when all the chips are on the board, he HAS to make it the best one, period.
Some people don't realize just how much the gravitas of this type of situation only gives you room to have one play in your mind at a time because you're so pressed to have the right card to lay down.

We know each other enough to trust that we do care for each other. But sometimes it is imperative we have to focus. It's kind of a survival thing.

Such focus is hard to have, that's why we can count on only a few people in such critical situations. Do you suggest he should use it to comfort her, or accept being less involved in his main mission to fight the enemy and risk losing her forever ? Her feelings are legit but are not relevant to put herself out of her own condition. As much as she may not be able to sustain her own overwhelming emotions, he may not be godlike competent enough to juggle with pillow talk and eliminating the menace. He's also suffering from this situation but is willing to give the only best thing he can provide at THIS time for her survival. She wants to get all from the same person, reality and fantasy fixed at once. The circumstances do not always allow it. It's like blaming a firefighter not to be caring enough of you risking losing your lifetime belongings, while he's solely focused on extinguishing the fire 🤦. Thinking it's not asking too much is not a sensible thing to do, especially from a person that couldn't avoid/solve its own predicament. Very few can do it all, most are just as capable as they are, let's not distract them from giving what they can.

As a man who has been judged just like Harvey, there is a time & place for everything. Harvey is emotionally invested 100% into saving Donna. He MUST focus on that task. In his mind he cannot lose. Only AFTER she has been saved and she is safe, then he can give her the emotional support she needs. Because RESULTS is whats important right now. This is where you know who Donna truly loves deep down and depends upon: Harvey. Because its him she seeks comfort & assurance from. Comfort from anyone else is secondary only to him.
He doesn't want his thoughts to weaken him. Otherwise he would be carried away by his thoughts and lose.

Donna is a great character in her own right but some of her arguments in the show were unfair, not realistic, sometimes hypocritical, plus dramatic. This scene is just dramatic and I understand she is scared to go to prison but she was unfair to Harvey and had such weird expectations of what she wanted out of him.
Why strange expectations? If your friends don't give you emotional support, then who will? Instead of yelling at her, it was easier to tell her in two words that everything will be fine
But Harvey not only refuses her emotional support, he harshly and aggressively rejects her and treats her as an enemy.
@@Elisa-gn5nj We all know that Harvey has feelings for Donna although he hasn’t broken all his walls down to fully express that to her. Harvey is my opinion is the only real professional lawyer who I would trust to get her back into a situation. Donna “knows” Harvey and should be able to at least understand how her issue/ current predicament not only causes stress on her but others too. His main way of dealing with it is doing what he knows best and it’s to be the best lawyer he can be. Perhaps not weird expectations but I think Donna throughout the show has a really dramatic take on friendship and being honest which doesn’t really happen in real life. Harvey for example was really tough on everyone in the beginning of the show, but I noticed how he dropped his guard down a lot and showed care and compassion for those around him. However, I felt like the other characters never really acknowledged it and acted too Harshly with him.

Then the way he calls her into his office and yells at her and she starts crying, the way the hearing goes, and even this scene where he attacks her and sees her as an enemy. I think all of this made Donna feel defenseless, humiliated, attacked. And because of that she needs to know that Harvey cares about her, but he rejects her and sends her to Louis.
My opinion is that this is about Harvey's self-centeredness. His priority is not Dona's comfort but the fact that his stability is threatened, he is in danger of collapsing because of her. I think that means he's saying "the thought of you going to jail brings me to my knees" and the fact that "she's different".
@Elisa-gn5nj he's aggressive because despite knowing what he's like, she choose to lose faith in him.. again. She knows he's not the type to give cuddles and that he cares for her.. she needed to leave him be professional so he could focus on winning for her not comfort her. Donna is the selfish one here if anything.

I just don't understand these comments. It was so hard to say "look, I'm on your case, don't worry, everything will be fine" Then she was happy, and he was doing his job.
Why was all that toxic behavior needed that hurt them both.
😊😊😊 and you will go back to the case thinking of what will happen to her, what will not happen to her, what will happen to the firm etc at the end of the day you end up losing the case due to emotional psychology.
Why? Because the moment you accept and your heart moves into that state of pity and comfort, it produces thought that keeps sending the fear of uncertainty to your way and you will lose sight of who you are and be lost in thought of what will happen
But why will Donna after being his secretary for over decades who knows how he operates, now come for a path at the back? Cos the moment someone gets into the emotional state inside of them during a bad situation, they lose sight of what you can do, who they actually were and they focus will be on what will happen!

As men we can't do that,we either put our feelings out and break down,not really facing the situation and dealing with it,or,we put it all to the side,shove it all deep down into a dark space where it doesn't come to light,focus our mind on the solution to the problem,and go to war to fix it,we can't do both,we can't worry about it and fix it at the same time,because if we're worried about it the mind is weak by default because it's being used to focus on the wrong things instead of the solution...
