- I have an open hole in my firewall allowing summer heat in. I also will replace my upper steering shaft.
Steering Shaft: I removed this link because I had issues with the steering shaft I purchased. It was a Crown Automotive steering shaft.

Support My Channel by purchasing through my links. I will get a small commission and it doesn't cost you anything. This helps me purchase some parts for my RUclips videos.

I need to take 3D printer lessons from you. Your top notch on that machine.
Thanks Jerry! I get around on the 3d printer fairly well but still have a lot to learn. Thanks for commenting!
Wow! Master Maker skills right there! Nicely done.
Hahaha, thanks Ed!
Tried to install a crown Upper Steer Shaft in my 1999 it would not fit on the splines. What a PITA, BTW the oem piece you 3D printed fits right over the shaft. I am jealous yours went on easily!
Sorry yours didn't work out. I ended up sending the shaft back because it ended up being more loose than the original. I replaced the worn out universal joint on my OEM shaft and now it is better than ever! Thanks for commenting.
Wish I could send mine back. I broke my leg shortly after ordering mine. I’m past the point of returning it. I wonder if I can swap the ends. I’ll see if I press the ujoint out. Not sure I have anything that small tho
nice, my rubber grommet has been free hanging since my 1" BL. I need to do something like this
Drove mine for the first time this morning. No more hot air coming in thank goodness!
My man 3D printer mind💥 amazing series 👊
Thanks Coach!
I noticed while watching some of your videos that you have a squeaking noise when you turn your steering wheel. Did relaxing the upper steering shaft make that squeak stop? My 97 does the same thing and I’m looking for the cause.
It is actually the rubber boot that the shaft goes through. It needs a little silicon grease where the shaft goes through. That should get rid of your squeak. Thanks for watching!
Great work! The steering shaft flange seal part is missing on my son's 2000 Sahara and I've searched high and low online and can't find any reference to it for purchase (or otherwise). Would you consider printing and selling these?
Let me see if I still have the model I drew up. I don't mind making you one.
@@ForceBuilt i also need one if you can sell one or share your model would be great :)
@@TheDsher I will be glad to share the model with you. Contact me futuraforce@gmail.com
Can i have a copy of the 3d printed file? I did the same repair, but the new booth does not seal with the firewall :(
Yes sir. I am going to upload the file to google drive and put the link in the description of this video. I will contact you here when I have it done.
Ok, file link in the description. Please let me know if it downloads correctly. Thanks
I fixed the link so anyone has access now.
@@ForceBuilt ok, I my friend printed the file, good! I remove and install everything again it fits just as easy as you show in your video. The hardest part was spreading the 3d printed part into the steering shaft. All done! Thank you from Canada 🇨🇦
@@germaned.lealnino631 Wow, that's great! Glad it worked for you! Thanks for the update!
Can that slop in the steering shaft cause a little death wobble?
No, that wouldn't cause death wobble. Worn parts in the front causes death wobble. Track bar, drag link, ball joints can all contribute to that problem. Thanks!
Hi sir I have a 2000 jeep TJ. With the same problem. I was wondering would consider selling/ making me one of those grommets? I can pay you?
I can send you the file.
