I taught tourism for many years in Durham and we used Crook Hall many times for activities when it was privately owned. Lovely place, very different. A bit of a walk from the city centre but well worth it. Been back a few times recently.
I was blown away how it could be so peaceful yet close to the hustle & bustle. I do love a lovely garden to walk round too!
I bet it was a great venue for education too 💗

Great to see "Durham Big Meeting" as it was called back in the day. I came from a mining village in Co. Durham and my Grandad and uncles were all miners. I loved going to the big meeting in the late 60's and early 70's and following the banner. Great days, lovely atmosphere and I remember getting Harold Wilson and George Brown's autograph 😊

Oh you should give it a go next year. There are proper campsites if you wanted an electric pitch. The bands are amazing and it’s such a lovely atmosphere! Well worth it and Crook house was a bonus that we never knew existed. We do like a good house & garden to look around 💗💗

The miners gala looked a fabulous event. We went to Durham last year and parked Wanda at Crook Hall Gardens. It was a bit of a tight squeeze to get her in. Take care Gill

There was 1 motorhome in the car park but I’m glad you clarified it was a squeeze as it’s hard to tell sometimes

Durham looked really nice. Haven’t been there for many a year. Crook Hall looked like a fabulous place to visit. And always gets our vote if doggies are allowed. Pleased you found your way out of the maze! Do love a nice market. Miner’s Gala sounded great. Always nice meeting up with the group. Looks like you had a great time ❤️😊👍
Yes there were a good few there this year and always a nice place to visit - it’s great where the dogs are allowed - Durham centre can be a bit not so dog friendly but great Crook hall was.

@@LeisureBit we had much the same where we live in Halesowen it was a largely mining community and we had events like this sadly long gone now it’s great they keep it up yes feeling much better now was a 18 hour day then all the prep and after effects back to work as normal now until we go to Cornwall in two weeks time

Hiya David Rachel and Roxy. Trying to catch us out today Saturday instead of Sunday. Is this coz of the footy or is there still one on Sunday. We had a bit of a meet up at Wigton market Yesterday with Rachel's dad we had a good crack. Tomatoes were spot on we had some with our Scampi salad at tea time yesterday. We were told something's which I won't mention in comment's as it won't be right. After Wigton we went to sunny Silloth for fish and chips. Silloth was very busy quite a few on Stanwix

It's been literally decades since I was last at the Big Meeting. btw, the word Gala in this context has a pretty unique pronunciation, it's similar to how you'd say Gaelic..
Houghall College is one of the usual places that the CCC arrange pop up campsites, although no toilets provided.then.
Ohhh you should go again. The atmosphere and pride is unbelievable- we loved it!

Hello Guys,
We bought a Elddis 115, new and registered on 01/04/2024. First owners, we were told by the company we bought from, it comes with 3 years manufacturers warranty on mechanics. ie the cab, engine etc.
We then got told it has a recall on it. A reflash of the ECU, with regards to emissions.
Whilst at the dealership they told us it had 19 months warranty left and needed a service. So upon contacting Peugeot UK. They told us the warranty starts when the motorhome manufacturer buys it from Peugeot. So any campervan or motorhome will never have the warranty you are told by the manufacturer or dealer.
We have informed the dealer, but they are not getting anywhere with Peugeot UK. I think the buyers spending a lot of money should confirm this with there chassis company. As usually you only check or need it when something goes wrong, possibly to be told it has lapsed or not a lot left of it. I know you have a big following and are trying to get the word out about this. Have been told other manufacturers are doing the same thing.
We are North East UK based, and the dealer was great up until this.
Thank the lord there was a recall on my motorhome.

Sorry to hear that, I know on Fiat they give 2 year warranty on campervans rather than 3 for that reason but it’s confusing - sounds like it needs to be clearer, can you extend the warranty?

Fiat are also doing it, giving less than two years. Have managed to talk to an owner, who from new only received 18 months due to 6 months build and the chassis being bought but inline to be built. So these people who bought via COVID may have a year or so from new. I may have to try and do a RUclips video myself. It states on Elddis website 3 years mechanical warranty. But it is not so.
