Seems to me that this artist has an established style and an eye for colour and lighting that relegates the reference photo to being more of a guide. Amazing work. And before switching to AI, I used Corel for YEARS. It was a great workhorse!

I challenge myself by taking on prints not done in our shop before, and I educate myself on Corel through RUclips and Google. I have always been VERY protective of my free time, and I would be hard pressed to break a day off, unless handsomely paid to do so. But since starting this I have actually gone in on a saturday or sunday, just to sit there in the deserted office and fiddle about in Corel, trying to figure stuff out. In regards to this video though; this is some next level sh*t right here! 😊
2-3ish years of using Corel at my work where I also am the main graphic designer and imma tell you that there is always something new to learn on this piece of software, diffrent methods of doing stuff and sometimes alot of useless tools that you'll never use in real life but are a nice piece of knowledge, still a great program to start your career with!

I've gone in on weekends to further my knowledge about the graphic design program, and I do that by making a lot of stuff for myself. Things I don't get paid to do on workdays. Like custom dvd/blu-ray covers, poster art, print films for my own t-shirt prints etc. If you want to take that ridiculous comment back now, I'm listening.

You could try making simplier things first like a basketball ball to get the hand of it or some object that isn't as detailed as a human face. I'm also trying to learn as well, wish u luck bro

I see no reason in using Illustrator. Corel is an excellent, user friendly, well organized program. It has an affordable, appropriate price. I dont know May be there are some things you cant do in Corel, but in Illustrator. I dont know. But I know there are some things you can do only in Corel not in Illustrator.

Illustrator is much better in many things. stick to ilustrator.
Check out Affinity Designer. It's a worthy alternative to Illustrator.

For this work you need to be able to draw. It is much easier to use vectorization and then edit the result.
This is done with a mouse using the pen tool… no drawing skills required.
