I saw that tour in charleston, WV with bryan adams opening. Absolutely an angelic voice. Hard to believe it's been 40 years since then.
@@thedudeabides7652 Saw them in early 80's in Worcester, Massachusetts with Bryan Adams opening so had to be same tour. Graduated high school in 81, 80's were a bit of a blur but remember this concert well. Journey was so good live!

this song got us married, I was a cocktail waitress in a military bar and my now husband had them dedicate this song to me every week-end that was 39 years ago, still rings true , he changed it from music man to sailor man.

I saw Journey on the Frontiers tour. Steve’s voice was flawless as good as the album.

And to that end I would like to strongly recommend a Metal Singer ( Russell Allen) From The Band Symphony X arguable one of the best Metal singers of his generation ...at least. Great song! 40 years 🎂 Written by Jonathan Cain. He is on piano and synthesizers. He wrote songs with or for The Babys/Bad English, Sammy Hagar, Michael Bolton and Heart. When The Babys broke up and Greg Rolie retired, JC took his place.
Similar song: Heaven as performed by Bryan Adams. In that year, he opened for Journey. There is a story behind Heaven.
Neal Schon dropped out of Amador High School in San Mateo. Eric Clapton wanted him to join his band but was refused! NS joined Santana, a classic rock band from my hometown San Francisco.
He and Greg Rolie quit Santana. The 2 founded Journey. In 1987, Journey broke up. NS , JC, John Waite, Ricky Philips and Deen Castronovo founded Bad English. Greg Rolie, Ross Valory and Steve Smith founded The Storm.
Current lead singer of Journey is Arnel Pineda. He is from The Philippines.

O my to see this play, it’s awesome but nothing like experiencing in person. It builds and builds and people were just blown away. It’s one of the best songs live. True story there were young women at the concert that just passed completely out watching this. The album was awesome but everyone kept saying seeing it live was a must. Back then they would sell out in 30 minutes. Another one live I recommend having see it which was insane, was Billy Idol singing rebel yell, when he takes off on the guitar in that song you realize his skills were unbelievable, huge hit and his voice like Steve’s are just very hard to duplicate, being so unique. Thank you I really enjoyed that!
