Damn man when you're ready to move on to a different car if you ever do I'll gladly take that car off your hands it's beautiful I've always always loved the 98 through 2002 Trans Am WS6 one day I'll get one! soon!!!!
Just got my Moser GM 12-bolt "built to order" last Friday. Will install this week. I have a friend with a lift that I asked to rent for the job. He said COOL and will asst me. He has done a few on his stock cars. He just helped me install a Maddog built 4L60e good for 650 hp last week. I have all the UMI parts to replace stock ones. Will get a upgraded drive shaft next. I am going to change out the fuel tank and straps and fuel pump with a new complete AC Delco pump, sending unit, etc. It is working fine , but I might as well do it now with the rear-end removed. The motor just turned 100,000 last week and it is 29 years old. I want to do some road tripping and want to avoid a breakdown. I changed out the stock opti 2 years ago and less then 10,000 mi. It started acking up when I test drove after the tranny swap. The DTC16. It was real hot outside. Would stall and then not start till it sit for away. I checked the connections and unplugged the battery over night. The next day it fired up ok and the Code had cleared. Drove it to my storage garage with no problem to await the Moser swap. I got a new Dorman opti and AC delco coil, 160 stat I will install after the rear-end is complete. I going to pull the heads to replace the head gaskets before they fail. I can inspect the cam,etc while it is apart. I thinking of going with a nos kit. I will upgrade the motor to the Golin LT1 (500 hp) crate motor. Plug and play. He has build openings for Sept. plus I will adj the bulging front lower fender panels .
Love where your going with the build dude. When I did my Strange and steel DS, both added 65 lbs. But the added weight is worth the performance , and piece of mind. Also I had zero whine with the Strange
Ok I thought I had that weigh difference right. We will have the same. Basic parts here. The guy i bought it from mentioned that it does make some noise, but would be expected with most aftermarket housings.
Hey, I have my 02 yellow WS6 anniversary. I just bought a new Magnum trans from American power train to replace the older T-56. I have been looking for a Strange rear end. I may have to wait, the budget is busting lol!
Been following your build man, great content! I plan to put 3:90 gears in my car so iam curious to see how you like them from the factory 3:42.......BTW what was the website you found the definitions for the door codes?
Does your car have an automatic or manual transmission? I'll have a video up this spring for sure about what I think of them. I just googled "RPO codes ls1tech" and went to a link that popped up. The info is everywhere on that stuff.
GreenLightFilming one of my catalytic converters melted and clogged up and my cylinder 8 spark plug was toast haha over the winter I’m doing bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, new plugs, x pipe, and a bunch of weight reduction haha my set up should make around 530-550whp but I gotta keep the tq below 450 to stay safe and hopefully weigh around 3200lbs so it’ll be a little quicker
Man that's going to be a super fun car next spring! At least the couple of issues you had arent the end of the world. I'll have to con my friend with a 3v to come with and check it out too. He's been talking about doing an e-force kit forn a long time.
You got a good deal on that rear end.I've been wanting to get one myself, By the way the 4gen f-bodies m6's gears are 3.42s.Can't wait till you get it going 👍
Great video! I'm waiting for enough money to get a 12 bolt for my 2000 TA (also pewter) I'm at 426rwhp and have nitrous and I know even with a auto that it's not gonna last forever, and now I'm gonna have a video on what's involved in the swap.
Good call on upgrading the rear end! I looked at like like I'm buying insurance. Sure the 10 bolt might last for a long time, but it could also go at any time lol
Hi fellow Minnesotan...graduated in Jackson, Mn and living in Houston, Tx..you said that you got the Strange 12 bolt rear from local shop, what’s the name of it. Thanks, I have 91 Firebird...
Lol.. I feel ya bout working outside I live in Central Texas where the winter's aren't so bad down here but the summers are as brutal as y'all's winters... My questions to you; why a 3:91vs a 3:73 or a 4:11 is your transmission the T56... Oh and Merry Christmas and Happy New
You can keep the heat down there brother lol. Somewhere in the middle of the country would be a good mix of both. My trans is a T56, yes. When you are selecting a gear ratio for your car, you are trying to hit the sweet spot for mechanical advantage to accelerate your car. You mentioned some common gear choices for hot rodders. The higher your ratio, the quicker it can accelerate per engine/transmission revolution. The downside is that you are losing top speed capability, and will be spinning higher RPM's going down the highway, dropping fuel economy and probably increasing engine wear.
You can purchase from their website. Give them a call, they will help you spec it out! They make a great product. Good price too. www.strangeengineering.net/ Let them know you saw it on this channel. It helps out, thanks man!
Shit when MY Lingenfelter built SS Camaro was pushing 466rwhp through my stock 10 Bolt with a auburn Diff back in the day when i 1st bought it, it took one hell of a beating for over 15k miles maybe 20k the first part that i broke was my BMR torque arm then i replaced it with a spohn and after that i was running a 03 cobra with a 2.8H kenne bell pushing 600rwhp and right when i dumped that clutch out the dig Boom!!!! the 10 bolt went to rearend heaven lol so i bought a new Moser 12 Bolt/ tru trac and 3.73s and its bullet proof now but im also pushing way more HPower now, but that factory stock 10 bolt with that auburn waxed many cobras back in the day lol. SLP POR VIDA 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 SVTKILR YAY AREA CA....
I know a ton of people run the 10 bolts with more power and seem to do alright. I didnt want to chance it with my car leaving me stranded and thus 12 bolt was a good deal and local haha. Sounds like your car was making some serious steam! Beating a big blower cobra is no joke. Those cars are fast
@@Greenlightfilming Yeah Lingenfelter built me one badass engine setup that has a great powerband and i can get into the 10s in the quarter as it sits but I just had my twin disc RXT McLeod put in for power im getting ready for I'm gona be putting in P1x or D1x Procharger set up its time to get this fbody into the 800r-900Rwhp im gona need to go with a different cam probably a BTR blower cam or maybe see what Lingenfelter has to offer? I raced over 10-15 cobras with whipples and Kbs and ive walked all of them from a dig but when i wax their asses they always want a roll race right after lol and i usually jump hard on a 20Roll but anything after 40rolls they are in boost and im way out of my power ranges and they get moving but 1/4mile ill get them all day its the 40 rolls where they leave when they get into those 18- 21lbs of boost.
GreenLightFilming hahaha keep convincing her. I mean it does get hot down here but, it’s better than freezing temperatures. Do it! Lol . Keep up the awesome videos! 👍
The rearend in the 3rd gen Camaros were pretty much the same. The e difference between the 3rd gen and the 4th gen cars. The 4th gen rearends are just a bit wider. The 4th gen rearend swap into the 3rd gen cars is the big thing. The 4th gen rearends are posi and most of the 3rd gen rearends are not. It's a direct bolt in. It's also the quickest and cheapest way to go with rear disc brakes. There are 3rd gen rearends that are posi but from what I can see most of them were in GTAs and IROCs. There is a different rearend that was (best to my knowledge) only in the GTAs. But I could be wrong. My understanding it was a 9bolt posi from Australia. If you already knew this sorry. It seemed in the video you were sgy on the 3rd gen knowledge. Hit me up on Instagram @persingerjr.carlmichael . I do a lot of posting of all types of cars. Most of the time the cars I post are very sporty. Plus I am building a 82 Z28. I will be posting videos and pics as my build progresses. So hit me up on Instagram. Like my posts and please follow me. Thanks a lot and look forward to seeing further build videos

Nice best mod I did to my trans am was an 9in Ford , ur love being able to dump the clutch with sticky tires and not break any thing
Been waiting for a Video Thanks man Love that car !!
Thanks man, sorry for holding out so long haha!
I've been waiting for a new trans am video! Stay warm.
Been trying to stay warm haha. We are having unseasonably warm weather (20's - 30's) so it helps a lot!
Just randomly came across this, I'm from the duluth/superior area. I have a black 02 TA. I want that same rear end!
Just finished up installing it on my car, its MUCH beefier than the 10 bolt. I grew up in Superior. Small world!
Thank you for the quick reply..ugh thanks bother you lite in the future, thanks
No problem man! Any questions just ask.
Ps. I have a 94` Z28 Conv that I got in 97` with 9,000 mi. Take care. From Sioux City,Iowa.
Just found your content and I love it man. Been looking at ws6's lately and I can tell it looks fun to own one.
Hey thanks man, and welcome to the family! These cars are a lot of fun and relatively inexpensive to get into. Dont wait, get one!
Nice my friend!
Thanks! More is coming, been moving slow with the cold weather.
You got to that rear end right before I found it ! Wish I could of swooped it up.
It was a good deal that's for sure. I was watching it for a long time too haha
Nice video! As the gear number gets "bigger" technically its a lower gear ratio. ie 4.10 is lower than 3.73 etc..
Thanks for the info. I'll try and keep the verbiage straight lol

You gotta pay to play, that's for sure haha. The hobby can get expensive real quick
Lightning upgrade!
Like a Ford Lightning? Or lighting. If the latter. YES lol
Make sure u upgrade ur stock drive shaft the stock aluminum shafts love to snap in half
Have a 3" steel DS from Strange for the install. Came as a package deal!

GreenLightFilming I’m a manual with 3:42. I was in a debate if i should just get a whole built rear or just put 3:90s in my 10 bolt
Winter sucks haha as soon as spring gets here you gotta do a review of my mustang I figured out my misfire and power loss problem
You've got a deal man! We will make it happen.
What did you find with your mustang?

GreenLightFilming yes definitely have him come with haha he will definitely want that eforce kit after he feels a boosted 3v!
Sounds good man! I'll try and bring him with this spring.
Any chance you could give a rough estimate what it cost for the rear end/ drive shaft. Sorry. I’m lazy. Lol

Hey been a fan of your channel for a while. I have a Moser 9” t56 magnum 1999 z28at 100 i get bad vibration.
Might be your tires, driveshaft, or an axle being bent. Sounds like it's speed dependent, not RPM.
I've wanted to get one of these for my 01 WS6 for years, but never have.
Dont overthink it. I'll have a video I ASAP of the install. Should get you a good idea of what it all entails.
The rear end is a nice piece
Nooice!

Yes it whines. All aftermarket rear ends will though... I'm happy with it all things considered.
Hi fellow Minnesotan...graduated in Jackson, Mn and living in Houston, Tx..you said that you got the Strange 12 bolt rear from local shop, what’s the name of it. Thanks, I have 91 Firebird...

Yep! I still go on there to post and read through threads.
