I was nowhere near being finished with Billy!!! Please bring him back! Sometimes when i'm falling asleep, or in the shower, or doing dishes 12th Man fragments involuntarily come to me and i collapse into laughter. (I have EVERYTHING and can pretty much recite the LOT) Just yesterday i was marveling at 'IkeepMyTeethInAJarBesideTheBed' - Absolutely incredible. I played some for my kids who are completely unaccustomed to sitting down and listening to something without flashing lights, but they recognized the voices because i've always done them, and they finally understood the context and were reduced to cry-laughing pretty quickly. - So there you go Billy, there's yet ANOTHER generation of fans. (They listened from CD's as well!) Thank you for your service,.... Marvelous Effort, That.
man the 12th man is all-time , grew up on it and you lads are one of my favourite poddies. I didn't realise it was your old man .. this was the best... shootski, scoreski strainthebackofthenetski
Mate I had such a shit day and this has changed everything. Thanks Lads. Billy.. don't be a stranger!!! BTW Billy is so humble about his success .. it's because the records are f*7ken hilarious. It always gets me when he says the south african accent has no 'rhyme or reason' to it
I have fond memories of listening to the new 12th Man tape every Xmas and boxing day back in the day with my old man my uncles and cousins while the women were preparing xmas lunch. Also remember sneaking away to listen to it when my team mates older brother was playing it in the car on our under 10s end of season footy trip away, thought we were doing something really naughty, thought we were grown ups. Great times back then, 12th Man, Rodney Rude and Kevin Bloody Wilson turned this boy and many others into men.
Fantastic interview on the God. Had no idea he was Toms dad. My late 80s early 90s Christmas were around the 12th man. He must of made absolute millions.
Absolute shambles the way Bill was handled over here in the UK. We knew most of his characters, especially the Cricket comms like Richie, Greggy and Chappeli. Richie B had commentated over here as long as he had in Australia. Bill is an absolute legend, still laugh at his stuff 40 years after I first heard him. Top stuff lads👍🏼
Legend has it, clues to the location of Richie's long lost jacket storage locker are burried in the 12th Man canon. Imagine finding Richie's chic industrial concrete grey jacket with the French vertical grain from the '84 NZ series. It would be like finding Iron man's suite.
I still say "gdaaaay mate" like Theo fakanopolis to my ol 12th man buddies 😅 Soo many great memories sitting around a cassette player with mates , in absolute fits of laughter.
Billy Birmingham, the one and only! Thanks for all the laughs, went off to sleep with Boned on just the other night!
Thank fuck you found it lads, one of the best ones by far
