Through drawing comparisons to wider patterns of substance abuse to an inherent yearning for a more genuine existence, Torso seeks to incite the same contemplation in his audience while reflecting on his own sobering realizations about why he continues his art. Despite this path potentially leading to his literal devastation and the demise of his character as he "passes the mortal threshold as a ruffian."
