tried this and my truck wouldnt even start without this fuse in. even tried to start it and then pull fuse but it just immediately died. 2007 ford f150 stx 4.6
I just replaced a couple on my truck before watching your video the 2 I replaced I pushed down into the cylinder head and then bolted the rail down on top of it putting pressure on top of each injector that I replaced assuming it snapped in is this a bad way to do it?? Because I notice you are snapping them back into the rail first
My truck stalls a little bit, and when accelerating it jerks. What kind scanner can detect the problem? My first car so don't really know a lot, any help is appreciated.
Quick question, what is the typical lifespan of fuel injectors for this engine? I have a 2007 F150 with new ignition coils and 10k miles on my spark plugs, and I get a misfire under acceleration past 40MPH. Any idea if the injectors may be the issue with it? 99k miles on the truck Edit: Also throws no code
So my truck suffers the same fate. I did the same thing. New coils plugs and injectors. But I use my fancy scanner to find latent codes and it slightly misfires on 1. I'm thinking the ECU has a problem so I'm going to replace it. I'll post a video here once I do that. Thanks for watching!
I'm having the same issue, I was looking into it I'm going to replace fuel filter .truck runs fine but having issues at high speed over 60 feels forced!
I have a 2005 Ford Expedition that has been through 3 plugs due to misfires. After pulling the plugs and inspecting it only has half or none of the electrode How can I tell if the injectors are the issue? I replaced original plugs at 100k and now has 140k miles and have had to replace plugs 1 1/2 more times due to misfires.
I would plug a scanner in and see which cylinder is missing then I would replace the injector, coil, and plug for it. The 5.4L 3v that is in your truck is known to be a problematic engine. They go out right around 150k or sometimes much much sooner. Sometimes an intake roller follower falls off in the valvetrain causing a miss. This can also lead to engine destruction. There are dozens of videos here on RUclips detailing the downfall of this engine. I would know I have one. I know it going in that I would have to replace the engine at some point. Best of luck and thanks for watching!
Can I pull the fuel injectors on the other side (my 2 is misfiring after changing spark plug still) just as easy, where I don't have to remove much of the stuff on top?
If you don't turn the truck on the pump won't turn on. The system will have pressure even if the fuel pump is off so leaving it off won't change that. Thanks for watching!
Just bought a f150 single cab with the 5.4 has loss of power past about 20 miles n hour with the engine wiggling I’m just gonna go ahead and replace the ignition coils and injectors and call it good
Why is there no videos on how to replace fuel injectors on anything new than 2008. I need to on my 11 f150 3.7l and there’s literally nothing on the internet
Probably because most haven't aged to the point where they fail and RUclipsrs haven't gotten a hold of them. We tend to work on cars older than 2014 or so. At Least what I have noticed. Thanks for watching!
Great video bro, I have a 2004 f150 with the 3v 5.4 I have a mis-fire on cylinder #6, I replaced the spark plug, and the coil but it's still pulling the code P0306 and still has the mis-fire, check engine light is on, and will start to flash under load, again new plug, and new coil! It has a bad shake at idle, and has no power! Do you think my injector is the problem? What should I do next, I need help man! Thanks bro! Edit- also before I changed the spark plug, and coil it had two codes, p0306 and p0174... but after changing the coil and plug, it's only throwing the code for the p0306 but still runs like shit as before!
I have an 07 5.4 .. I had same issue, but I found out it was because I broke the tabs on the wiring harness connector that connects onto the injector. I went to the junk yard and cut 6 off of similar ford's, then cut off mine, then made a butt splice. It runs really good now but a solid check engine light stays on still.
@@niflag Yes it has compression, to confirm the issue, it was indeed the fuel injector! Haha, I only changed the one that was causing the miss fire, but it runs great now, the idle is still kinda bad, but that's probably because I still need to change out the back two spark plugs ( I didn't change them out when I last did the spark plugs haha, I should have though lol) and also I probably need to replace the rest of the fuel injectors as well! But yeah, it's been running great since I figured out it was actually the fuel injector!
I have some issues with some injectors and my mechanic bought them online refurbished for $60 a set of 8. He put them in and I guess it was running rich. It would blow out white smoke from the back. We ran em for 10 mins or so revving to keep it from dying but no luck. Are they just bad injectors or? Note: He got it from rockauto. Also the car has been sitting for a few years.
$60? I just paid $260 for the Motorcraft injectors from Rockauto. Other than Bosch, I wouldn't trust any other brand. Stay away from the chinese ones on Amazon too.. those are horrible looking at their reviews.
@D4x4Bronc I see. Maybe you know the answer to this question. I used my powerprobe maestro, which can test the injector circuit, and found that on cylinders 5-8, I would see an occasional Injector On Time drop to as low as 40.1 and even 101. Cylinders 1-4 would stay around 2.78 - 3.00 or so and never drop. I think this shows my occasional miss would be on the control side to the injectors which could be the pcm? Also I watched a fordtechmakeuloco video where he shows a #7 cylinder intake roller follower popped off and was cause the misfire there..I assume with my findings this shouldn't be what is causing my miss? I also verified I had good voltage to eack power side of each injector connector. Any ideas? I replaced the fuel driver control module by the spare tire about 1.5 years ago with a doorman, I don't know if a malfunction in it could cause my on time drop or not though.
@2carpros you were fine. My dad was a mechanic his entire life and you were estatic compared to him lol. I just wish you would have done an easier to film one so we could see better how the actual injector goes in and comes out.
If you don't want fuel to spray everywhere, pull your fuel pump fuse and run the truck until it stalls. That will clear the fuel from the system.
Jay Drew fuckin JAY!! Always coming thru with the save!!! Where have you been man!!!?? We missed you last week!?!?

Fuel injectors last between 50 to a 100 thousand miles
Mine lasted 263000 miles
Mine finally quit at 300,000 miles.
I watched for the clip. Too bad for me. I needed details. At least I know which way it goes. 👍🏻
The vaccum tubes have a green tab that you pull with your finger making them really easy to remove if you do it right. You almost broke the tab there!
How do you fix that? I made that mistake.. but it also looked like it had some previous damage
I don't think you can fix those. I believe you have to replace the whole tube in that case. @@FreedomFundsTV

Mine is throwing a p0304 code. How would I know if it's a fuel injector or coil/plug? Thanks for the video!
Try swapping coils with #3 and see if the cel code follows.
That first sensor that you have to unplug. That is the pressure sensor correct?
I think so yeah. Thanks for watching Dan!
Saw a video of someone removing the fuel fuse from the fuse box and they avoided leaks that way by using up the left over fuel. Is that true?
If you don't turn the truck on the pump won't turn on. The system will have pressure even if the fuel pump is off so leaving it off won't change that. Thanks for watching!
What is the code for bad injector?
Just changed spark plugs per code. Now, no code, rough/shaky idle, could it be a fuel injector?
Mine did the same when I changed my spark plugs, come to find out 1 of the new spark plugs was bad,
great video

Does anybody know if you have to code new injectors or anything like that? Or can I just swap them out?

F***ing hate that it sprays fuel everywhere. What a stupid design, there should be a valve before the connector that can be shut.
step 1, pick the shrader valve...
