    I loved how Specialized marketed the Aethos as the lightest 'disc' road bike. And then just about a year ago we had this. Everything the Aethos is trying to be with all the performance from the SL7(or atleast all the performance you need). I am so grateful for brands like Colnago and bianchi just to name a couple, to be considerate enough for letting us choose between rims and discs.
    Gorgeous bike. A part of me wishes it atleast had 2x , but that's just personal preference.

      @@GCPerformance18 I suppose you're talking about the Specialissima. They do provide a rim brake specific frameset, but not as a complete building. TBH, I'm totaly fine with that. Building up a bike as per your needs and preferences gives you more value for your money, not to mention the sort of deals you can find on many components if you buy them after market

    I have the same bike with basically the same set up except 2x eTap/Zipp 404. I fall in love again every time I ride it. I ordered the frame drone a shop in Europe and got a color Specialized didn’t offer in North America (Storm Grey frame/ Rocket Red Logos). Very nice, same weight as my S-Works Tarmac SL4. What's the difference between say Look Keo Blades & Shimano Ultegra pedals?

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  4 года назад

      look blades are going to be lighter but also keo looko pedals clip you in by using the carbon blade so there is no adjusting unless you change out the blade and shimano uses the old fashion spring so you can make micro adjustments as you need but they are still nice pedals

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  4 года назад

      they are called the look keo blades but iom gonna warn you they don't have any pedal adjustment so they are kind of tight from the beginning because the pedal clips you in by the carbon blade and there is no spring to adjust the tension so you are stuck with what it is from the get go

    Please put a set of 23mm tubs on this, knock another 1kg of the weight and slay the Aethos. Then you’ll see what we who rode bikes before 2016 knew all along. With a change of wheels, tyres and integrated bars will show the hype about disc bikes. Stiffer, lighter, more aero,symmetrical and beautiful what’s not to love about rim brakes.(Ps I am a happy person with an allez and synapse). With tubs on Ride it back to back with an sl7 and an aethos and you’ll see that the new range of disc bikes are dull and disappointing.

      yea tahst what im saying he has the 28s on there at that weight he says its super comfy so he doesn't want to change it but I told him one day go 23mm and also latex tubes and this thing would be super light lol

      @@GCPerformance18 if he wants comfy and fast tubs all the way. And as for road side maintenance I’ve used one can of pit stop in 3 years. 120 psi and compliant wheels there’s no option that comes close for comfort and 300g per wheel acceleration and handling is transformed.”compliance is in the construction, not the pressure” bead in the tyre no hook in the rim wall.

      In the old days we used to run tubs these filtered out the high frequency buzz (high speed rebound, then tub rims where tuned to take at medium frequency vibration (rim depth and spoke count) and the bars saddle and frame isolated the rest, unfortunately it was all forgotten and replaced with stiff aero bikes, coupled with the uselessness of low volume tubeless the fat tyre invaded the road world and to facilitate this discs had to be adopted. Today we have heavy draggy disc bikes that we only need because of ignored valuable but unmarketable frame design characteristics.

    My bike is heavier at 15.5 pounds with pedals and cages but it is a genetic 10 year old Chinese carbon frame. I have nearly 1000 into it

      very nice, be careful with those Chinese frames those I have seen them crack in half when sprinting on them..... from customers and friends, some are not to bad but but Ive seen some that are horrible

      I would say be careful with any brand. I have broken trek carbons and aluminum's and while I have been riding with the same group of guys, one broke a top of the line Maxine, another a Tarmac and another a Cannondale. I see the biggest difference is the service. My Treks were replaced fast and if I were to break a Chinese frame I doubt I would have that. The frames are mostly decent but not so much carbon bars and saddles. Their cheap wheels are dangerous
