    Thanks for the tutorial. My truck threw the P202E code and I replaced the DEF injector. Ran a full diagnostic using a Snap On code reader and got a no reluctant pressure message. Going to change the pump now. Hopefully that will fix the issues.

    Overall good and informative video. I have to point out that DEF has nothing to do with regen. In fact the SCR is located after the DPF. DEF is injected into the SCR.

      @BlackKnight-ll8qh Год назад +1

      Yes it does. If you do not have a working def pump/injector it will not do a regen. Talk to a mechanic. My happened to be a recently retired dodge mechanic. The ONLY time it really uses def is in a regen cycle. He couldn’t do a stationary on mine because the “reluctant pressure level low” warning. Figured it meant that the pump was burnt out. Sure enough…

      I went with an OEM pump from the dealer.

    Hey man, is the sensor for the DEF level built into the pump or is there a separate sensor that I haven’t read about? My truck threw the P203B code yesterday saying “reductant level sensor A circuit range/performance” and I just want to confirm before I buy this expensive pump. Thanks!

    • @josemejia6645
      @josemejia6645 2 года назад +3

      From what I’ve researched everything is housed in that pump assembly, heater, pressure sensor and level sensor. If any one of those things fail and throws a code for it you have to replace the pump assembly. There is very little troubleshooting diagrams for these things and it looks like FCA’s instructions are to replace the pump. Sometimes flashing the ECM to the latest software will fix the issue but it only makes it tolerable. Just my 2 cents. 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Michael Cox, did you change out the DEF pump? My truck just threw up a P203B code today and I wanna make sure that I don’t buy an expensive pump that I don’t need. What fixed your truck?

    Do you need a special computer to get the DEF light out?

    • @industrialiron90
      @industrialiron90  2 года назад +4

      In "most" cases no. In this case it was not needed and the codes cleared immediately after install of the new pump. But also in this case another code ended up being generated because the computer couldn't accurately communicate with the new pump and the dealer had to update the truck.

      I just replaced mine !! Mine synced just fine !! Dealer told me if it didn’t reset to disconnect the batteries for an hour then hook back up !! It took 3 start up cycles to prime the pump !! Part was 1600.00 WTF dealer wanted 3000.00 to fix !! Took me about an hour to change!! Had 82k on my truck the emissions warranty ran out at 80k !! Can’t wait for 100k to make this nonsense stuff go away!! I used a screw driver and hammer to get safety ring off !! The tool is probably way easier!! My knuckles were bloody!! I cussed it a lot !! I wasn’t going to drop the tank !!

    • @JS-zb1vv
      @JS-zb1vv 2 года назад +2

      The dealer also told me don’t let the tank get much below half because the pumps are going bad if the def gets low !! 🤷🏻

They say the sensor gets dirty on it and that is the actual problem!! No way to clean the sensor either!! It’s a bunch of BS !!!!!
