Hey Jengar, can you do a review on the He-162? People hate it for wrong reasons. I dont play it like a jet but something of a FW. Climb to decent altitude and use the magnificent energy retention of the plane to energy trap even H-5 P-51's.
@@jengar6258 Trust me, try it out again, and try to sideclimb and get a lot of energy. Because of its short wingspan, it suffers at low speeds, but it gets amazing dive speed and energy retention/high-speed handeling in return. i have reached 900 KP/H in a dive and spits cant keep up with that low to the ground, since they will compress! Edit : also, you can defensive fly but it is hard, play it a bit like a Whirlwind P.9
Why do you attack enemies that are in an energy disadvantage frontaly? Isn't it better to go over them (maybe force them into a stall) and position yourself to dive from behind? I just don't get it ^^ As a regular 190 pilot, good to see you in one and keep it up dude!!!
I like the 190A's but I just lose in the 190D's. It's a little hard to boom and zoom when everyone else is above you :) I can pull some nice tricks in the 190A but they all involve elevator authority at high speeds, which the 190D isn't particularly great at. I just haven't been able to make the 190D's work like the A's can.

Jengar its a fast plane , climbs good , turn okayish , great guns , good at high alt , great roll , good compression i think this makes up for a good plane or does it ?
@ The only thing is thay it doesn't turn okayish, unless at high speed with takeoff flaps. It's clearly below average in that aspect. You won't win a turnfight with any P51, F4U, P47D-28 or M, any P38 or any british fighter or russian fighter. Of course there are other ways to effectively fight those planes, but sustained turning isn't one of them.

On my mission to bring every 190 at least to 100 kills in RB, somehow the D9 turns out to be the hardest one. But I just love these planes, so its great to see this Review. Really nice Job, Jengar!
I genuinely hated this plane when I first got it, but it’s grown a lot on me as I’ve been flying it a lot. This plane is definitely something you have to follow a strict set of rules of you’re gonna get your butt kicked. Aircraft that are known as good but if you struggle force yourself to play it a lot, learn it as well if you can’t use it at first then you likely simply don’t know how to fly it properly. That’s what I learned at least.
D-9 is my all times favorite at it's BR it can outrun everything and this 2x20mm cannons are well placed so close to each other and thay combine equally like 3x20mm
I really enjoyed flying this plane in the Bastogne (Battle of the Bulge) historical battles event back in the mid 2010's. It and the Bf-109 G-10 brought me many great memories all those years ago.
I unlocked this aircraft the other night. Ans I must say it's by far the best german piston fighter. It climbs well has smooth operating controls. It also had a good perifial view from the cockpit.
Great video! I love the plane. I think what makes it shine in comparison with the other Doras is that its best performing zone is between 4000 and 7000m, which makes the D9 to have a bit of an edge against all the very good low and high altitude aircrafts that is has to fight in a regular basis.

You spoke of transitioning from AB to RB. I don’t know how many pilots like me are out there; where the transition is too difficult. Could you consider a Tutorial on how to best transition. We all work and only have so much time for War Thunder; and RB matches can just be climbing, getting shot down straightaway then going to AB to get some plying done.
To start with, channels like Jengar, AdamTheEnginerd, DEFYN, Green Fury, etc are good places to find players like yourself making the transition to practice with. I've seen you around, we can fly out together, be it practicing in 1v1 or as wingmen in a sortie, I'm a AB main transitioning to RB too. I have a second piece of advice for you: if you can hold your own in AB, be confident in your skills in RB. I've once outflown a RB main in an RB 1v1(later in a 1v2 with another RB main)(RB main meaning he had few hundred games under his belt, very few AB matches, while my RB match counter hasn't even hit 20.)

Yeah true, but some planes really suffer from this more then others. Some planes easily keep accelerating to their rip speed, with others its quite hard to reach the rip speed before crashing into the ground.
Jengar could you give your opinion on the d13 premium? I know its been changed since launch, but id like to get a good idea of how it performs compared to the other fw190s, and if it worth the buy in 2020
Jengar can you fly the spitfire mk 24 which might just be the best fighter in the game it’s main rival is probably the bearcat this spitfire is one of the fastest props in the game it’s very manuverable can effectively do cas good climbrate and the Hispanos are very effective against enemy aircraft
I'll soon have this plane so i massively appreciate this video, as i love 190s, and tend to get a lot of kills in A-4s but i feel like the Dora will be different
@@Allwin-lz6yj What do you mean by low alt? 5000-6000 meters? Firepower is not an issue imo for the D9. 2x20mm cannons and 2 50.cals do the job just fine.
I reckon the Antons are better, even though they are slower. I find it much easier to get guns on target as the flaps on the Anton actually make for a half decent turner if you have to. There is not turn with the Dora, only energy retention and roll rate.
I personally feel that the D12 is way better if you want to do the casual BnZ. However, if you are trolling with fws (reversals, intercepting, not going full tryhard climb) the D9 is definitely the best since the engine is way better for low alt than the D12, which is way better at mid to high altitude. The D9 also turns faster to make up for the the poorer high mid alt performance.
Just have to get used to the lead of the mg 151's. its just practice. You could try this in the mission maker in the test flight. you can fight ai planes there. is some nice easy target practice.
I don´t like FM of D-9 in WT, because this plane almost can´t maneuvre, but in IL-2 Battle of Bodeplatte you have much better FM of FW-190D-9 so you can even dogfight some fighters, because it don´t have such sick elevator and poor energy retention in vertical maneuvres.
It doesnt have bad energy retention in the vertical, it has bad performance at slower speeds making vertical maneuvers sluggish. But thats not because of bad vertical energy retention.
@@jengar6258 Anyway IL-2 FM is far better than WT. In IL-2 you can without any problem dogfight with P-51D in vertical maneuvres. In WT after few maneuvres your D-9 falling down wihout speed like defenceless s***.
If i would have to describe this plane in few words it would be "a vulture in ealge's skin". Unlocking mods for it was a chore fore me, and when fully unlocked its on the verge of bearable. You will be matched against planes that will outclimb you, will out-manuever you and (albeit rarely) outgun you. Flying this plane is not fun for me and frankly i just do it to move trough the line. Sure, not much can be faster in a dive... but that actually gives you nothing in this plane. If you boom in it and miss the kill shot, your time is numbered. If anything commits to a chase, they WILL get you. They will run you down. The fact that on the video spitfire committed into a roll-match does not show the good side of this plane, it shows the lack of Spitfire's pilot skill. P-47s, p-51's will simply wait for you to go down to kill something and they will commit on you afterwards. And if they know what to do, there is nothing you can do at this point.
I wanted to like this plane and i like the speeds it can manage, but i always get uptiered in this nowadays, fighting only Super Corsairs, AM1 and others that catch up to me in seconds when i'm bnz-ing and got every advantage possible compared to my plane. Defyn also says it's bad. Good thing i'm about to get my first Ta 152, should be less painful overall even though it faces jets, it's more versatile and has more options. It's still a great plane for punishing bad pilots flying overall better planes in RB though, just not the op thing of these br. brackets. :D I mean at least it's not an AD2 or a Beaufighter and it's one of the best looking props in the game.
This thing is getting annoying to fly. At 5.3, where being below something is a death sentence and being above something is the only way to survive, and with allied planes that rocket up to 6km alt in no time, and attackers that can end matches singlehandedly, when flying a D9, you're forced to choose between spending 5 minutes side climbing only for the game to end before you do anything, Or stay low only to die before doing anything. The only difference is wether or not you're sent back with a repair bill, neither choice is fun nor rewarding, and it's really making me want to quit flying the Doras altogether Yeah, I'm going back to the 190 A8, at least that one could both be useful, AND do something in the match
The FM is still way to fucked to be an effective plane. There are far better alternatives out there, which can actually defensive fly against good pilots.
There is no way that the FW190 D series were that outperformed in real life. I don't believe it. Those planes really were sophisticated back then and the sluggish controls, the lack of elevator goes against the very principles of Kurt Tank which were to make simple, strong and easy to control planes. Gaijin sabotaged those planes i swear.

you can actually gain significant thrust increase if you use manual radiator on Ds, but you will have an overheat issue then (manageable).

the higher the br, the more that elevator is a problem. Strict discipline helps with this plane.

Hurlock alpha the Anti-Globalist d9 more tuned for low alt d12 more high alt d9 is is faster on the deck but d12 has much better firepower
