Labour don't care about working class people. They just pretend too, pandering to the little people, pretending to want to help them, so THEY can get power/money/fame. It's just a a niche to them, a method of getting what they want. Sure they will tax the living hell out everyone so they can throw some money around but their sheer incompetence inevitably results in waste and ineffectiveness. Meanwhile the rich just leave, or pout up their prices to maintain their income and everyone else gets poorer. You can bet your bottom dollar that the like of Khan will make sure they are OK though in their Range Rover and armed guards. Ken Livingstone went about on his bike FFS.

I’m a farmer who currently supplies food to Greater London. The cost of ULEZ will mean that I can no longer afford to send delivery vehicles to the ULEZ zone after the 29 August. To maintain my business I will have to focus on sales in the home counties and heart of England, I will effectively stop supplying London. Other farmers and market traders will do the same. As a result food and grocery prices will soar in London and especially in low traffic neighbours. These people are not looking at the bigger picture. Prices of other services and goods will increase too as a result.

Now the councils don't want to allow cameras to be added to their roads. TfL owns some of them ... but why not put the cameras on the buses ... TfL pay for the services? So they could do that and no borough can argue.

Sadiq has had 7 years to improve public transport to make it a viable alternative to the car in outer London and has failed to do so. Now he wants the working classes to pay for his mistakes by expanding the ULEZ.

It’s about time he and all his schemes were rid off. As a blue badge holder living in Linconshire I applied for an exemption to one of the schemes imposed on travel through central London I was charged £10 to apply for an exemption. Then after paying the £10 was told it would take 10 days to process the application and in the meantime to pay the £25 a day charge. This was the costs incurred for a one day visit to central London.

All vehicles now have catalytic converters - an exhaust emission control device that converts toxic gases and pollutants in exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine into less-toxic pollutants by catalysing a redox reaction. Catalytic converters are usually used with internal combustion engines fueled by gasoline or diesel.
We now move on to MOT inspection which covers vehicle emission levels. The inspector will connect the car to a computer to take readings from it's exhaust gasses. The substances that are measured are carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide. If any of these levels are excessive then the MOT will be a failure.... therefore if these levels are NOT excessive, then the vehicle PASSES its MOT ...
Yet! TfL in its infinite 'wisdom' IGNORE the govt guidelines and charge a levy. This comes across as a FRAUD.
To me, ULEZ, Congestion Charge, LTN's, '15 minute cities' etc are NOTHING to do with pollution BUT all about CONTROL and SURVEILLANCE.
Make no mistake, this will backfire on the WEF Puppet (aka Mayor Khan) ...
IF he thinks road charging is going to work ... he and TfL have another thing coming. It is set up to collapse.
The private corporation entity that is TfL are basing ALL their data on a FRAUD. They are shameless.

That's half the weekly wage for a lot of people for what could be a genuine mistake and TFL don't look at it as you making a mistake and forgetting to pay, they look on it as you deliberately not paying. Crime is appalling but he doesn’t care as that doesn’t generate him money. The easy target is motorists and Let’s make up some figures to show this needs improving (which he has made up) and put financial strain on the public and businesses during the tough cost of living at the moment. If it was purely for the air quality, why is he giving people the option to pay to drive in? You can basically pollute as long as you pay up. The guy is an absolute joke and he needs going, all he has done is put cycle lanes to narrow the roads down, and tax motorists. He is well overdue his stay. One death is one too many, but I would happily bet that more people from poor housing in London.
Regarding his motives, I believe its because he's currently the head of the C40 organisation. However as mentioned by some of the people on the panel, this scheme will have a far reaching impact on other parts of the UK. There are numerous councils and cities which are going to take this project onboard including Scotland, because they all see it as a cash cow and just another way to raise cash.
