I’m an SEC fan & you can miss me (pun intended) with this BS all day. Winning the National Championship is really hard & it’s gross that teams who wouldn’t be in the playoff if it weren’t for the expanded field are complaining about having to play tough games. Never heard a single SEC Coach stand up there and offer to forego the benefits of being in the SEC as opposed to almost every other Conference. This is the same coach who was at the forefront of ABUSING the fact the officials would blindly stop the clock for perceived player injuries, even as they were clearly faked for tactical purposes thus prompting the Commissioner to publicly address the issue. STOP COMPLAINING & GO WIN GAMES, that’s the only way to get where you want to go.
So what’s the goal now? Win enough games to get an at large bid but not enough to make it to the conference championship game? Don’t bother trying to play for the conference championship if you have more than 1 loss by end of season
16 teams would be good for CFP. Top 6 conference champions plus 10 at large spots. Maybe the top 4 conference champions get a home game like the NFL. So at worst, a top 4 conference champion would be the 8 seed. And no penalties for losing the conference title game unless it's a blowout (over 20 points).
If you go to the championship, you skip a game. That game might be a little bit easier, but it's also back to back against harder games. Coaches just handicapping down to cover.
Only SEC fans think they’re teams are better than others. WIN THE GAMES ON YOUR SCHEDULE. LOSING doesn’t give you help. Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard that a 2 or 3 loss team deserves an automatic bid in a Playoff
Keep an eye out for which SEC teams are left out of the 12 team playoffs. If Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas or somehow all 3 are out, we will see a 16 team playoff next year.
Grow up Ole Miss. Last year GA was undefeated, lost the SEC championship game, didn't cry about it, shut up and went home. The SEC championship is harder to win than the national, so which is more important.
What if the conference championship games directly feed into the playoffs? Either they be the first round of the playoffs or the winner gets the bye and loser automatically is in the first round of the playoffs. We def need a 16-team playoff though.
This is shameful to have the sports media talk about long rooted tradition like having a conference champion not having meaning anymore because of a postseason playoff that was created from thin air in 2014 and later expanded in order to make more money. They speak for the people who get rich off this, not for the college football fanbase.
If you go to the SEC Championship, that game is your 1st round cfp game. In both cases, if you win then you go to the 2nd round of the cfp. In both cases, if you lose then you are out. Would you rather have your 1st round game against texas/texas a&m in Atlanta or at home vs like a BIG10/12 school? Definitely at home.
The SEC is only considered dominant because of two teams, Alabama and Georgia. Let's stop acting like in the past you can drop any other team from the SEC into any other conference and they'll dominate it. Point being Texas just came from the big 12 and they are currently first in the SEC
This is a consequence of having such a large playoff field. Championship games don't mean what they used to. You don't need a conference championship anymore to get in the playoff
The SEC should just create their own playoffs. I’m sure the viewers would love to see the Top 8 SEC teams beat on each other for 3 more weeks and then crown the winner “National Champions” 🙄
Schedules are made quit a bit in advance, sec made Texas schedule not Texas, Texas scheduled defending national champ on the road before knowing Harbaugh would leave and McCarthy etc... so I don't know about that, still beat Vandy, Bama didnt

Screw more money for the conference to have 6 teams. We have opportunities to see the matchups every year. Let’s beat up on the other conferences that get in. Lastly, these clowns say the conference loser wouldn’t get in? BS! Alabama has gone without even going to the conference championship and Georgia has gone as a loser.
Let’s just bring back the BCS system/formula and send the top 12 teams to the playoffs.
which formua, cuz historically the BCS system changed 9 times....
Let just do it like Basketball tournaments. Wouldn't it be nice a Cinderella team upset rank team?
So what’s the goal now? Win enough games to get an at large bid but not enough to make it to the conference championship game? Don’t bother trying to play for the conference championship if you have more than 1 loss by end of season
look @ ND didn't win conference but get in the playoff.
Give them 4 teams but if they lay an egg and b10 wins back to back championships than the big10 is the new big dog.
Only SEC fans think they’re teams are better than others. WIN THE GAMES ON YOUR SCHEDULE. LOSING doesn’t give you help. Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard that a 2 or 3 loss team deserves an automatic bid in a Playoff
Every 2 loss sec team and several 3 loss teams are ALL better than Boise state..
This is easy to say when you play like one good team all year in the big ten lol
Keep an eye out for which SEC teams are left out of the 12 team playoffs.
If Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas or somehow all 3 are out, we will see a 16 team playoff next year.
We’re not even a full season in and coaches are already complaining about the system.
Grow up Ole Miss. Last year GA was undefeated, lost the SEC championship game, didn't cry about it, shut up and went home. The SEC championship is harder to win than the national, so which is more important.
If conferences don’t matter then get rid of em
What if the conference championship games directly feed into the playoffs? Either they be the first round of the playoffs or the winner gets the bye and loser automatically is in the first round of the playoffs. We def need a 16-team playoff though.
They are overlooking that Texas also has their work cut out to beat Kentucky. Don’t jump ahead to A&M.
This is shameful to have the sports media talk about long rooted tradition like having a conference champion not having meaning anymore because of a postseason playoff that was created from thin air in 2014 and later expanded in order to make more money. They speak for the people who get rich off this, not for the college football fanbase.
Just have the both teams that make the conference championship make the playoff
He is not wrong but they should just make it based on Wins 1st
And you get a half win for making it to the championship
Mannnn I've always said that a 6-team playoff is the sweet spot
should go to a 13 game season with 10 conference games, then straight to the national playoffs with no conference championship game
Simple solution. Make the conference championships after the playoffs
And.....here.....we.......go!
Texas and Tennessee had virtually the same SEC schedule.
I don’t think a team would be excluded for losing a 3rd time i. The conference finals
Should be 8 teams
🤔 I think they should get rid of the last two games and start a play in tournament at the end of the year. 🤷🏿♂️
This is a consequence of having such a large playoff field. Championship games don't mean what they used to. You don't need a conference championship anymore to get in the playoff
like ND....
Lane doesn't need to worry about it this year !!
Playing in the SEC championship automatically gets you in the PLAYOFF!!! LAST YEAR WAS 4 TEAMS
no. handle your business. don’t be in a “lose & out” situation.
Take both teams from each conference championship and 1 at large bid from each confrence and 1 at large bid to highest ranked independent school. 16 team playoff. Is it really that freaking hard???
Independent team like ND need to be in a conference. you can't walk into playoff without winning conference. if that the case all one at large from each conference should play ND?
@rpoosua3452 I agree. Independent bs needs to be over with
They should win out and This wouldn’t be a problem
While we're at it, why not eliminate the CFP, too, and go back to bowls and polls?
Even with a bye you still playing the same number of games counting the championship game.
These are there options take a 3 lose sec them and beat a 11-1 team from big 10.
SEC are Embarrassed if they lose in the playoff to Acc, Big 10 and etc...
Somebody explain Paul’s statements at 5:06
It seems really simple to me. If you can’t make your conference championship you shouldn’t be in the playoffs.
What a weight lifted off Finebaums' shoulder to hear S.A.S say he was right. Whew. Here i was thinking he might be wrong.
The new college playoffs are garbage. NCAA just wants to make college football the NFL…
I remember Bama getting in the championship game, even tho they didn’t play in the SEC championship, and Auburn did). The year Tua threw a bomb over our head…they shouldn’t have been there either. (Don’t get my wrong, Bamas always dangerous).
Trust me they will find a way to have 4 sec teams in the playoff
Excellent jacket.
Everyone wants to have their cake and eat it too. Take care of business on the field and you don’t have to worry about three losses. Go to 16 teams or more. FCS does it and they’re fine
Lane Kiffin is the scourge of NCAA coaches. The got blown out of Tennessee, went to FAU, screwed them over ... long story now at Ole Miss. He'll move on the UF or something. It's disgusting to watch
Finebaum's getting a little too excited about the 2-loss SEC mayhem at the end of the season.
There are so many flaws in this system, it's worse than the BCS. Just look at the top 10, Indiana, Penn St, Notre Dame, it's a serious joke. Little 12, ACC automatic bye, group of 5 must get in, no this system is seriously BAD!!
ONCE YOU SAY THE GAMES DONT MATTER THE GAMES STOP MATTERING.
Hang on!!! This kind of stuff is getting on my nerves. As a sec guy I’m so sick of the media trying to portray a picture of perfection with its faults. For example, conference slogan, “it just means more!”
How so? Now I 100% understand the logic behind what little kitten is saying. However, It doesn’t mean more if you bought your team and are too scared to compete for the highest honor of the conference.
We have Sankey trying to pull stunts with pettiti for four spots at least guaranteed…. Huh!!!! WHAT WAS THE POINT OF EXTENDING THE PLAYOFF THEN! The sec is already better than the other conferences anyway. Show it on the field and get in. Also, maybe your a sec school that gets left out at 13. Wellll…… someone has to be left out.
Just want the sec to look tough like we used to and not keep trying to hide behind what the sports media who won’t say anything negative about us. What are we scared of?!!!
A three loss sec team should get in over an undefeated Indiana or byu.
Next year SEC needs 4 team mini playoff and the two winners square off on championship Saturday
Huh?
Just make the playoffs all SEC teams, seems like that's what everybody wants haha.
$EC teams are at the point where they think they deserve to be in the CFP simply because their jerseys have that logo on them
Both teams in the SEC championship Should be in.
No team with 3 losses should be in.
@@ld4974 unless it's so Carolina
@ld4974 yes this year that's true because the SEC has evened out but for the most part every year the SEC championship game has 2 undefeated teams.
@@ld4974so say Bama goes, they’re the highest ranked 2 loss team at the time, and loses to Texas. What then? Punish them for having to play one more game than teams like Georgia (who they beat) or Ole Miss? And then what about Notre Dame? WHO doesn’t have to play in, let alone win a conference? How does that make sense?
@@marlymarlle I don't ever recall the SEC championship having two undefeated teams.
Imagine not wanting to play for a championship! Disgraceful. Don’t lose to Kentucky at home!
Get rid of conference championship games then…
Who cares stop crying
You care that why you watched
@ yup I watch car wrecks to
@@GiftedDee explains a lot about you.
Just set the field before the champ games
