Years ago, I watched an episode of Street Crime UK which was devoted to the football riot that happened after the play off match between Millwall and Birmingham.
I went to that game. Caught the tube from my work in Hammersmith, ticket cost me £40 off a taut. I was in the stand opposite the boxes and ajcent to the away fans, all Millwall nutters jumping up and down and singing crazy shit like 'you'll never make the station.' Half-time canteen was like a pack of animals battling to feed. After the game I had to dodge police running wild with batons. All in all a night to remember.
Amazing how the media got it so wrong....I was at this match, and left five minutes beforehand...the car by the Cliftonville pub was already surrounded by twenty or so people, who were unloading boxes of molotov cocktails from the boot. I recognised none of them, nad a bit further down the road, there were chelsea fans, hanging around. WHY has no one recognised or acknowledged this?
It's free parking in zone one, just incase your interested. I've parked there, many a time, even on match day. I recommended the millwall cafe. Failing that a nice cup of tea and some toasted tea cakes. Orivour.
C S No London based clubs really have fans living in the areas around the ground for the obvious reasons. Most West Ham live round the border of East London and Essex, lots of millwall in Bromley, bexley and Kent I think.
@@i_know_youre_right_but most London teams fans moved to the home counties. Generally its Chelsea fans moved to berkshire, tottenham and arsenal moved to Hertfordshire, west ham fans moved to essex and Millwall fans moved to Surrey, Kent and Sussex. Though a lot of them still live in SE postcodes. Unlike West ham fans that nearly all moved to Essex.
How can the police sue a football club 😃😃😃 everybody knows most of them who kicked off weren’t even millwall fans ?? The ground is right next door to a housing estate a lot of people just come to smash the police and weren’t even fans
It was pre planned the old bill took liberties that season shoulder numbers coming off and all that on the odd Saturday. That was payback. If we won there wouldn’t have been no drama but we lost last minute the atmosphere changed quickly and people was ready in their own due rights
Wasn't Millwall it was them Brummies, us lot went home for a cup of tea, then we heard Birmingham got let out the Den, next thing you know this happens
