Northern Desert really was the perfect music choice for that desert section. idk if the creator intended this but the 3 long jumps at the beginning are always perfectly timed to the music (3:09). And, of course, the arrangement is beautiful.
The PMD2 music during the second stage gave me the best kind of whiplash, that game's soundtrack is fuckin godly and that particular track sounds hella fine in the SM64 soundfont

Warning you of the instant transition doesn't make it work.
For people who don't know humans take about 1/5th of a second to be able react to things. When it is purely visual and requires us moving our hand to press a button this isn't actually difficult. It is pure memorization. Yet it is very easy to fix.
Just have a object that looks the same on the other side of the portal. This gives them enough time to react to the first 1-2 platforms keeping flow and if designed well can even fit with the environment.
