AHHHHRGH Shermans! bring out the Panzerschrecks!!! What i really liked about your model right away was the RB models gun barrel, it adds so much to the thing. You certainly have to do something to the tools, making the straps yourself should not be too hard. overall it looks like a decent kit, if i ever build a 1/35 scale sherman again it shall be an asuka one. the dragon shermans did not impress me with the it of the hull parts.
Nice job! If you want to build another E8, you should really try the Tamiya kit they released two years ago. It's beautifully done and it goes together without a problem. And as far as the commanders cupoula, instead of masking the vision slots with tape, you should use masking fluid....that might be quicker
Hey Adam, the tank looks great none the less. Speaking of clear parts for optics. Have you every tried installing them and then just spray without masking and after short, just scrape the paint off with a toothpick? You get the clear part effect without much difficulty. Not as clean as masked, but much easier and shiny the things still are.
Nice job, Adam. Ah, yes... the horn guard. That was a harrowing experience to be sure. The Asuka kits are really nice. I have built one and have another that will be built probably next winter (other stuff stacked up right now!) but I have looked in the box and the mold quality is really very well done. Good to see you build and American vehicle, too. The M4 series is a really good platform for building all sorts of stuff. Looking forward to more videos, amigo!
Great to see your return......you have certainly been rather busy since the last vid though....Marriage, moving & first child.....check your blood pressure !!.....hope it wont be two months before the next video, good luck.
if not painted.pva left in vision blocks, self levels if theres a lip.easy way to mask.I do all german blocks that way and pull out with tweezers after painting.
I didn't build my M4A3E8 yet, Tamiya kita is a rebox of Tasca, now Asuka. 3:34 Maybe they should have included the original instructions sheet, in it they indicate you should pull the .50 caliber machine gun from the sprue, then insert the barrel, no drilling required.
The problems you had with the .50 cal are really weird. I've built a few of the Tasca/Asuka machine guns and didn't have any issues with their guns. I wonder if it is a change in plastic or maybe the molds are wearing out? Overall, it's a good model and I'm looking forward to seeing it painted.
Adam, the Tamiya E8 is not a reboxed Tasca kit. It's Tamiya's own tooling. They do look similar at first glance and they are both very good kits, but once you look at them side by side, you notice they're completely different. That might explain your build experience not matching what you've heard about the Tasca Shermans.
Nice to have you back in the saddle again your reviews fill a gap that has been sorely lacking as far it's not German well I'm sure we can overlook this by the way. I am planing to do some German armor so I had watched almost your reviews on Panzers and Tigers to put up against my Sherman M4 and M4A3 congrats on your getting married once again nice to have you back look forward to your future reports Have a great day Bruce
Très beau travail monsieur c est un plaisir pour les yeux je suis abonné !!!! et je serai fier de vous avoir comme abonné aussi merci very good work mister this is a pleasure for the eyes I am subscribed !!!! and I would be proud to have you as subscriber thank you
Hi Adam, great report. I built this for Shane's GB. I thought very much the same as you on the light guards etc. I really did enjoy the kit. Very well engineered ! I used the kits tracks as I thought they looked ok ! Hope your well and the little un is beginning to settle down and letting you and the wife rest a little more !!! Lol . My boy is 9 now , 10 next month and loves his models. I think if I could get rid of his Xbox and playstation he would do more but hey ho it's our modern world lol . Hope you are all well matey ! Stay safe
It's 2019 already? The yearly video came early yay :) Hehe I know I'm a fucker. Awesome to hear your thoughts on this one. I've always wanted to try an Asuka Sherman and I'll do a Firefly or a Jumbo if I can get one some day. I've gotta get tracks for my Sherman still since the Dragon T80s are trash. What do you think would be good? It's also got PE just like this kit too which will be fun.
If you do another Tamiya M4A3E8, with seperate links , T-80 and T-84 tracks you will have to raise the hull up slightly and gap fill, not a huge issue , but has to be taken into account, have you used the kaizen tracks before? Cool subject nice work
Great build, my fav M4A3E8 subject, are you going to do the new Meng and RFM Sherrmans. Nice work. I have a bunch of those , Asukas and Tamyias as well. Nice!!!
Hey Adam, long term fan here. I’m finishing up my build of 6252, but If you’ve got the time, I had some accuracy questions about Tiger no.100 in the state it was when it was delivered to the front in 42. Dragon provides multiple options for a few of the following and I’m not sure which to use, even after checking photos on Tiger In Focus. 1. What set of barrel cleaning rods should I use? The 3-3 set or the 3-2 set? 2. They have 3 anti slip textures for the front fenders- Vertical diamond, horizontal diamond, as well as waffle. Which ones did 100 have? 3. Mantlet casting number? I went with 20 as that’s what the instructions use, but I’ve heard numerous other numbers such as 58. 4. Tool layout? I currently have the Shovel as well as the Axe, but I can’t tell if it had shipped with the bolt cutters, hammer or antenna tube. 5. Lastly, the tow hooks. The kit has two types- the standard tiger hooks with the beveled edges, as well as a more squared off set. I noticed in many of the photos they didn’t even have the tow hooks on. However, when they did, what type were they? Thanks in advance Adam, I’ve been stumped on these choices and everyone tells me to come to you!
3-2 for the rods. I don't know which texture it had, I'll look at the images from the display in Russia, but most of those are based on Tunisian Tigers. I haven't heard anything concrete on the casting number. It shipped with no tools, so what you see in images is what we know. If you look up, I think Tiger 111 there is a rear view of it. I believe the the square ones were first. Why don't you look up Panzer Research and Reference on facebook. That's my research group. Dave Byrden and a bunch of guys smarter than me are there and we can hash this out with images and stuff.

Oi... Nice to have you back.. 2 months is too long to stay away.. You have a unique way of describing kits. Well done as usual.
Looking good Adam. Enjoying seeing this come together.
Great build Adam and welcome back.
yes he does great things Adam, I always like to see!!!👍✌

I second that. I used Wilder Quick Mask on my T29E3 cupola which is the same cupola and that worked well. I know Adam has some Quick Mask.

nice video supermodel class explained by you!!!👍👍👏✌
Nice job, Adam.

Nice work Adam. Very clean build and an informative report mate
Great job Adam!! A pretty interesting kit!! ......"It's not a panzer..."(Whispery voice)

Nice kit. Thanks for sharing

I would steal the periscope guards from another kit as PE guards just don't look real enough. I usually take them from the old Italeri M47.

Yes, but this is the rare Tasca reboxed Tamiya kit that came out in limited release a year before the Tamiya kit.

I forgot to say that the .50 caliber machine gun is attached to the sprue, not molded in it, so you only need to pull it off...

I was hoping for more German armor subjects. i.e., the paper projects...
99% of what I do is German, but most is either stuff that was used or prototypes.
Adam Mann , good to see new postings nevertheless. Congratulations on your new baby!
how can u see the difference of a early mid and late gun mantlet on a tiger 1

Thanks for the advice Adam. I’ll look for the group as soon as I’m done typing, haha.
where is the update brother??
sekytwo been busy watching my 3 month old. Video soon though.
Who makes the T66 track or do they come with the kit?
This kit is over $100 on amazon -_-
some inner wheels missing?
The wheels are pairs, and left off the inner set until painting
Wait. ... u a famely boi! ?!?!
Nice build, I want one now lol. I think you have the tracks upside down tho, Cheers
