New car! 5 cheap mods to change the look of your Raptor - HGT Raptor Ranger Build!

- New car day! We brought a raptor Ranger! Why? To be honest the day I drove the Go Explore rig (60XPLR) I fell in love and ordered one. That was 10 months prior. So it has been a long wait to say the least.
In HGT fashion we waste no time in modifying it and get to work changing things on our next gen Raptor Ranger. When it comes to the next gen Raptor Ranger there are 5 things that I hate. So we changed them.
1. The numberplate surround on the front.
2. The silver plastic piece on the lower section of the front bumper.
3. The silver bash plate.
4. The Stainless exhaust tips
5. And by far my biggest hate of all, the cheap tacky RAPTOR stickers on the tub.
And best of all none of this is hard to change or expensive to do.
The numberplate surround. This is just the two screws in your numberplate and then 4 10mm bolts and it pulls straight off. I found this doesn’t interfere with the radar and the surround bolt holes line up with your number plate.
The silver plastic piece on the lower section of the front bumper. Just pull it forward from the bottom, there are also two T25 torx bolts hiding at the top at the back. Then we just painted it in Raptor multi-purpose coating. Two coats.
The silver bash plate - 4 16mm bolts and it slides off. Then we just painted it in Raptor multi-purpose coating. Two coats.
The Stainless exhaust tips - two bolts a side and it just slips off. Then we just painted it in Raptor high temp paint in a flat black. Two coats.
The cheap tacky RAPTOR stickers on the tub. We just applied a little heat and they peal right off.
For the sake of half a day’s work and about $65 I managed to fix all my gripes with the next gen Raptor Ranger and change the look to a bit more stealthy and sleek.

I have a Ranger Raptor on order here in the States, but with the UAW strike, no idea when I will get it. All great ideas that look easy to do. Look forward to more good content.

Welcome to club. I jumped ship from y62 to the Raptor 5 months ago, hahah, but got a code orange with a bit more flavour and well have done the same as 62 and made 8t into a crazy build again and now its heavy so i reckon just go redarc go block or a battery behind the seat, 2way and compressor and a hard lid on the tub but the rest have a portable case set up for camping. 35s dont really change the ca4 that much but dont think they are needed on these so go on standard 33s or possibly close to a 34.
Cheers dude 🙌 yeah I’m really thinking I’m not going to do a heap to this thing. I’m still waiting for my compressor to show up🤣. At this stage I’m thinking pretty basic I want to show how good of a rig these are out of the box. I am so tempted to do 35s. Having already done them on the 60XPLR rig is probably the main reason I haven’t yet. I feel I need to do something slightly different or it’ll just be the same repetitive content. No one wants that 🤷♂️🤣
@HappyGoTravel people like customisationon these. I put compressor under the seat with scub bracket to protect compressor from water and dirt but the heat soak is huge and heats the underneath of the seat like crazy but i guess you will do the same as your mates one. Battery behind the seat worrys me as well with the kids in the car but i went amtron and max current on the battety i drew from it is 80 amps and is half the max load rating of it around 175 amps but have built a portable enerdrive system in a tred box for 240 volt power and large loads.
@@jamiewilliams7618 yeah I ordered the same kit as the 60XPLR rig for the compressor. I think arb did an awesome job on it. I’m still a little undecided on the dual battery. I am thinking of tub mounting one
hi my friend I always watch your videos on the raptor which are great tell me what feelings can you give me on the new calandra lamp that you installed the led bar? Do you think the lighting quality and power are sufficient?
Possible to get a good side by side of yours and the conquer grey as it’s the two choices I’m choosing between colour wise haha

overall you were right the rear exhaust outlets are much better in black, explain to me why we got a chrome one on it
In some of the prototypes they were black but the kept getting chips so the went stuff it🙌
Did you clean or sand/scuff the plate an bash bar before applying the raptor paint?

With the aggressive pumped stance of a Raptor they’ll never look anything less than what they are. But I guess at the end of the day it’s all about personal taste 🤷♂️
Quick question, did that plastic front bumper section have your front sensors in them? Did you take them out?
Has the raptor coat lasted on the bash plate?
My black raptor should arrive in January and I want to black out the silver bash plate until I end up getting a new one.

I've had my Raptor for a few months now and sticker was gone the first day. I have been looking at options for the lower section. Was considering wrapping, but raptor coat looked good on camera. Would you go Raptor coat over a wrap? Thanks for the videos they have been very helpful.
Cheers mate. The Raptor coat actually came out heaps better than I was expecting 🤣. Another option you could do is pull it off and take it to a powder coater I’d imagine it’d only cost a couple of hundred at most.
Boys do you think the ute master lid is worth it?
I personally don’t but Damo loves his. Don’t get me wrong it’s cool af but not 4k+ cool
Where did you buy your raptor multi use coating for bash plate?
I just got the multi from super cheap. And the heat proof from repco

@@banmedel9225 nah I just cleaned it thoroughly with wax and grease remover. The raptor paints stick like shit to a blanket 🤣
