Thank you! We were able to get everything back in order, but are expecting up to 21 more inches this week. I have no idea what is going on with our weather!!! We've never had a winter remotely close to this! I'm about ready to pack up and head somewhere warm. :)
Garden Answer here in Ohio we haven't had anything yet! I've got daffodils and hyacythis coming up already. burning bush is starting to sprout it's new leaves for the year. my flower garden is all confused!
I live in Twin Falls, Id and we had a similar snow issue. Our house is almost 100 years old so we were worried about the weight of the snow also. My husband got a telescoping snow rake from Lowe's and it worked incredible well and was much easier than the shovel method. I was sorry to ear about your green house because you just got it put up. I am so jealous. I want one really bad. However, since I am still keeping my first succulents alive my husband says I don't need one yet. :) Good luck.
This is a bit of a wake up call for me. Ugh!!! A reminder of whats possibly coming here soon in MA. You guys are dealing with so much snow. These videos were not even a little bit boring. Really something to see.Wow.
Oh, bless your hearts! Do be careful around all that ice and snow. I couldn't help but think of how grateful all the little birds must be for the wreath of food you made for them since all that snow is keeping them from other sources in nature. I'm making one tomorrow and can't wait to hang it. I can't believe all the creative ideas you come up with! Guess I should go ahead and get my glass & tile bit so I'll be ready for that project.

Oh Laura, I'm so sorry and I so feel your pain. Living in southern Minnesota, those negative temps compounded with ridiculous winds then the snow means winter just plain suckeths! I've gotten the bitter cold, but have not gotten the amount of snowfall you have and my warm fuzzy thoughts are with you. Nature is more resilient than what man made objects are, so I hope all will be well come the thaw ♥
Wow!!! I love the look of snow, just not keen that it stays and it's cold. Blessed that Papa has kept the snow away from me most years except for a light dusting like powdered sugar on a cake. So glad your garden survived, and amazed how different it looks these days. Stay safe!

I have never ever seen snow (in real life) that is just amazing, the depth of it on your roof is just unbelievable ... just stay safe when or if it happens again, there's no way i could get up on a roof like you guys have done, I'd be so scared of falling off the roof ... also it's so amazing how little Dexter's paws didn't freeze. Wow that a lot of snow ! Stay safe . They have a roof rake out its metal and you probably would be able to be on ground and maybe stand inside your up stair Windows . They sell them in New Jersey. We've had some big storms here. Last year one day had 39 inches. ❤️
Loved this vlog!! I lived in Poland and we had that amount of snow every year! It's just crazy! Now I'm in Buenos Aires and it's summer and we've been having 38ºC (100ºF) day for the past week, only one day was cooler after it poured like crazy. Sending you some summer warmth from the southern hemisphere.

I've never even seen snow, being a south Florida native! You guys must have super strength to be able to shovel SO MUCH SNOW!! Wish you were wearing some kind of safety harness up there on the icy roof! Thanks for sharing - I will stop complaining about the 34 degree morning we had a few days ago!

I feel for you guys. I live in NW Iowa and we use roof rakes. They make cleaning roofs so much easier!
Shellplumb I was going to mention that same thing!LOL! They can also use baseball field rakes or asphalt rakes. Just a long handle with a flat bar across one end and push the snow, don't shovel it! I'm old and like to do things the easiest way possible!

Hi guys be very careful on the roof please. Please use a meal long pole with a piece of wooden long piece on the top of it. Like a T. On top of the metal rod. You need it to be as long as the top of your house. You might need to add a extention to it to reach.
Where I live we have 6 ft -8 ft of snow per season. So a lot of snow. When the snow plow goes by a couple of is the worst, especially when the snow gets hard.

Here in Mississippi it was in the 20's for three days, then the next three days it was in the 70's. No snow, just ice and head colds from yo-yo weather!

Don't even worry about Dexter, kitty's always land on their feet or just put it in 4 wheel paws:) Got to be an easier way for you two to clear your roof? Pressure washer on low so not to harm the tiles? We're from Maryland born and raised. We moved to San Diego 17 yrs ago and gave our snow shovel to our neighbor. Snow is just too much work. Got great memories of coming in as a kid frozen and our pop always had a fire going in living to get us warm:) Keep Safe!!

I live in Canada so this is not unusual for us. Most of the homes have sloped roofs. Nothing closes. The kids don't go outside for recess. I love Dexter!

From Atlanta and I feel you...we're just not used to snow or ice so when we got black ice under the snow it shut us down...city has now bought more snow plows but we see ice so rarely!
OMG!!!!! I am newer to your channel so I just got to watch this! GIRL.....I was having a heart attack watching you walk along the rooftop. I live in Spanish Fork Utah at the mouth of the canyon so I’m used to the deep snow but what you went through this year is crazy! I’m so glad your fam was all safe and soundish! I love you guys so much! You have changed my life! You have helped me deal with some pretty deep depression through gardening! I have been filming a bit here and there and will have to share it with you soon! Thank you for sharing your life with us.

The reason you don't get very much snow is because it's dumped here in western OR! But seriously, the Cascades dry out the clouds pretty good before getting to you. That's going to be a LOT of water when it melts and it could melt quickly, right?

Oh dear. That sucks!!! The collapsed one. This is a typical snow for Massachusetts. I have to trudge out to the back and clear the snow off of the greenhouses. I need to get snowshoes for next year. We had one collapse about 5 years ago and had to tear it down. I'd rather be in Oregon. lol

Snow is never fun. I'm located in Central NY and we can have over 50" of snow in one storm. Thankfully our buildings are built to withstand the weight. Yesterday we had 6" and that was a few light flurries.

I know its summer now but with such a large property, I'm surprised u guys don't own snow blowers and a mini dozer. Shoveling will take forever. Investing in one myself and I live in an apartment in Upstate NY and our snow gets cray-cray

I didn't know you were from Ontario! I grew up in eastern Oregon. My family has been telling me all the horror stories of this crazy winter. I heard the roof of a les schwab store collapse and the people just barely got outside before hand, so stay safe!
This video popped up for me this morning. It was 108 heat index yesterday and we haven't had measurable rain for about 5 weeks. Your video kinda looked good not gonna lie. But if we had that snow I'd move. Lol

I’m terrified of heights so I’m cringing and hiding my eyes when you’re walking around up there! But I know you’re safe because this video is an older one! I remember we got 18 inches of really wet snow one year (here in east central Ohio) and we had to shovel our roof also. It’s never fun.
You were giving me heart attacks walking along the roof - and this is from someone who recently vlogged ourselves painting our roof (was soundly told off in the comments for not using a fall arrest system or edge protection!)

Here in south east wisconsin we have 12+ inches of melted snow...we got negetives...every thing is covered in ice!
When not put Heat Cable on critical areas? They are widely used in the northeast. Will keep roof edge warm.
I live in Portland and we got about a foot but I can't imagine 30 inches
