Wonderful story. Been addicted to ice cream since age 4...We lived a mile+ from a country creamery that sat in a big field.... At age 8 I was allowed to bike over with my dime.👍👍 That's was 2 scoops. Ice cream always makes the day better.😁
The ice cream and the experience at Clementine's are stellar and so was this story. I could practically smell the waffle cones and I definitely wanted to sample each and every ice-cream shown. Thanks for highlighting such a well-deserving business in St. Louis. They are as generous with their portions as they are with community involvement like fundraisers, too. BTW - "Midnight Passion" is the deepest of chocolate goodness and I get it most every time.
I was, and still am, an ice cream kid as well. It was one of my father's many business ventures. While Clementines meets the definition of premium, 16 percent butterfat is still too low. The best is 20-22 percent or better. Most commercial, store bought, is 5-10 percent butterfat and 20-25 percent air. The lower the air the better, but it gets harder to scoop. I have the forearms to prove it.
@@oomma5 yes, gelato is nearly always higher in milkfat (butterfat) and to be authentic contains less air. But, the numbers, just like ice cream, can be all over the place.
