It's always interesting watching how people edit with LR, particularly the different ways that you can use the software. Even through the compression of YT, the detail on that sensor is impressive. Great expressions on their faces, the cigarettes really make the shot for me.
Thank you!! As I've mentioned on your other "how you edit" videos....this stuff is EXTREMELY valuable, especially for those of us shooting digital monochrome. It's a bit niche, and therefore not much info out there for those of us learning to edit true monochrome images!! Again, thank you, CC
I really love how you capture British grit, it’s a side of England I grew up with and you portray it well. Also helped so much with my monochrome editing issues, great tutorial
Thanks for sharing your thought processes as you edit your photos...I'm an urban photojpurmalist here in Chicago, and your tips are VERY HELPFUL..keep up the great work!
I don't know if either of you have a non-mono Leica, but I've been very impressed with Cobalt Imaging's CCD Monochrom profile with my M240. Supposedly they do some luminance mapping wizardry before demosaicing. You don't get the detail advantage over a true monochrom, but the tonality I get over using the built-in profile or others is noticeable.
Thanks for the suggestion. At the moment we can get our M9 and Monochrom cameras to the point where you can’t tell them apart under 640 iso with our profiles. We just have to make sure colour noise is removed from the M9 dng before conversion. 640iso and above and the mono is in a league of its own.
Having only had my first monochrom camera for a few weeks I am struggling with the editing process to get the look that I like. Honestly these vids are invaluable. I just wish your silverchrome pack worked on Lightroom cc mobile. If I keep watching more vids though I’ll probably end up with some sort of desktop just for this kind of thing 😂
Hi Jeff, thanks so much for sharing your extensive knowledge. One quick question, can your b&w presets/profiles be used with Fuji camera images? Cheers :)
You can do exactly the same thing in Adobe Camera Raw. The interface is slightly different but the same functionality is there. LR gives you more options in terms of organising your images.
Hi Tom, they were tested on Canon, Sony, Fuji, Nikon, Leica, Olympus and LUMIX files. The optics don’t affect the profiles. The size of the camera sensor has more of an affect.
These edit videos you have are very helpful for my own work. Oh and Silverchrome is an A plus addition to LR. Thanks.
Thank you. Glad you are getting something from them.

The Monochrom is something else when it comes to detail. The old CCD magic.
Thank you!!

Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it
Really interesting to see someone edit, I must learn how to do more than contrast etc to whole image

Thank you. Glad you are enjoying the channel 🙏
The new auto-masking capabilities in LR are shockingly amazing, especially for people and face detection.
They’ve certainly raised their game with them. Incredible technology and I can see it only getting better.
Learnt a lot. Thanks.
Thank you. I’m glad it was helpful.
Super Video, thanks ❤
Thanks for watching 🙏
I really liked this Jeff! I have been shooting for over 45 years and I always learn something new, CHEERS!
Thanks. Glad you got something from it. 🙏
Great work!

Yes they can 🙂
I'm not a lightroom user but still found the video interesting. I use a similar approach in On1 Photo Raw.
Thank you
This image is all a bit Little Britain. Nice Edit!
It has that feel, I’ll agree!!
Is this more difficult to do in Photoshop? … trying to understand if I need LR

Do you think that your presets are less effective for those of us not using Leica optics ?

No matter how many times I've tried, I just couldn't master this technique.
Which technique are you struggling with?
Both photoshop and Lightroom.@@WalkLikeAlice
I’m so sorry for taking your great skill with free.😅
