I love that this game doesnt tell you if you're wrong or right, just like a real social situation, so later you can lie awake at night going over every social interaction you've ever had wondering how you haven't been exiled from humanity yet
So...just like every night for me, then.
As a game designer i find this extremely boring. Call me old fashioned but if I didn't wanna play a game and engage in social interactions then I'd go out into the real world. Not many people like me anymore tho unfortunately :(

I always consider number 3, but I’ll now bear in mind numbers 1 and 2. This game does teach people how to be more considerate.
This is in Japan, so 3 doesn't matter because they're just going to take public transportation anyway.
The title translates to "read the atmosphere (of the situation)". So, the game's asking both players to get a read on both what they need to do for the level and what the other player is going to do which is why it judges in the specific parameters that it does.

At the end, she turned to me, I turned my head, and with one incredibly wet eye sobbed out, "S-she probu-bably died because... b-because she ate ma---aaa--aarbles!!" before bursting into hsyterics.
Apparently it was so funny that she cry-laughed along with me for a good ten minutes. Then I had to explain bowel obstruction while quietly crying into a tissue.
That was such a good movie, but I never watched it again. Nor will I.

This is like Japanese Societal Conformity the game. It's actually really interesting to see what people do who have a bit of a competition with each other.
Because of this video, my boyfriend and I now get to constantly make each other laugh. One of us will do something and the other will instantly go "That wasn't very considerate of you" or "That was mildly considerate of you". We've done it at least 10 times in 20 minutes and I guarantee it won't get old.
So it's basically reanimated "that wasn't very cash money of you."

This game really doesn't do a great job of letting you know. It seems like a WarioWare-esque game where you have to go through this stuff at least once to get the general idea. Still, seems like a cute game!
I think that's kinda the point tho, since in real life no one's gonna come up and tell you if you did the right thing or not in a social situation, especially not in japanese culture. It's really fun i think.

I relate to Arin's "kuuuuuukiyomi", I started learning Japanese this past fall semester and our teacher expects us to hold double syllables for so long. Like, Tokyo but we have to pronounce it "Tookyoo"
Thats so english speakers get used to phonetically consistent vowels, since japan vowels are on most cases short and some are held just for a bit

My Japanese teacher expected that from us as well, but she herself was Japanese. It becomes second nature after a while, but some words/names still sound odd (even after 15+ years of studying the language). "Susanoo" and "Houou" still sound weird when I hear them spoken.
On a side note: hearing someone say "Toe-Key-Yo" instead of "Toe-Kyo" hits my ear wrong.
