We need to be, the servants, always near Jesus. Doing what he tells us to do immediately and then, we will get to see it happen. Only the servants knew n saw the miracle .🎉

    I love this so much!
Seriously there is close to nothing good that came from lifestyle drinking of alcohol. We don’t need alcohol to feel good and Holy Spirit has given to us -Acts !!
I had 20+ over years as a social drinker and ended up drinking daily. Even as a Christian(!).
Alcohol almost always is a handle for Satan. I have seen too many families, marriages and loves wrecked because of alcohol.
I am a Jesus and Word chaser woman today. Jesus delivered me from the spirit of alcoholism 2.5 years ago. He is healing my family. I have to fight for this and I am so not happy that many pastor thinks very lightly of this and always justified for their own drinking. If I can live a life honoring Jesus and chasing after HIM, I feel “high” daily hahaha hallelujah!!
There is a wave of redemption over His bride now. His nation.

Brother Guzik, I have a dilemma. I have a pain syndrome from neuropathy in my lower legs, fibromyalgia, 5 surgeries on my legs which one ended in failure. I’ve prayed for healing beyond count and like Paul I’ve had to accept my weakness is strength though God. I’ve gone to the elders being anointed with laying on of hands and prayed over. God has not seen it for me to be healed. Ok, the dilemma is this , I take a narcotic pain reliever every single day. I’m sure my body is physically addicted to this medication. I’ve prayed that my pain could be decreased that I wouldn’t need it. To no avail. When I’ve tried to lower the amount I take I become so disabled that I can do absolutely nothing. When I do take it I can drive, go to church, think clearly enough to pray and study God’s word daily. When you preached the sermon on Jesus’s first miracle and gave the admonishment not to take anything that causes addiction I was reduced to tears, crying out to God for an answer! I truly want to honor my Lord and Savior with my life! Where is my potential to be found? I’m I condemned? I feel so heartsick! I have inherited the medical condition from my mother and my daughter has inherited from me. Are we generationally cursed because there really doesn’t seem to be an answer. I’m open for some godly ideas even if they’re tough! Hope the Spirit gives you the answer to tell me because I’m not hearing it!

Hello. I'm no preacher like bro David. I'm just a guy who read your post. I would like to say that I'm sorry for what you're going through. I see you posted this 8 months ago and I hope the Lord delivered you now.
But if not, I would like to encourage you to keep the faith. Remember that a believer's ultimate destination is Heaven. And sickness and disease are not allowed there. So if Jesus doesn't heal you on this side, know that you will be healed if you make it to Heaven.
But as far as the narcotics, I would like to encourage you to check your heart. Be honest with yourself and God. Do you really want to take the drugs? If you don't, and you're only taking it because you have to, then I think the Lord understands. He's full a mercy and grace...and love.
But at the same time, don't use your condition as an excuse to take drugs because deep down you really want to regardless if your sick or not. Again, the Lord looks on the heart. So be honest.
Now concerning your condition. If you are truly born again, then generation curses don't apply to you. If you truly are saved, then you are apart of God's heavenly family now. Whatever's been done in the past is now under the blood and you are a new creature now. Don't let Satan get in your head and make you feel like your any less of a Christian then anyone of us. Jesus loves us all the same. But we all have different purposes in life that only He knows. So continue this race until the end and all will be revealed to you in time.
      God bless.

@@georgejohnson7637 thank you so much for taking the time to write back a lengthy response!
Odd, that God waited this long to send a response! But His timing is perfect.
I went to my pain management doctor yesterday and I was told that the pain medication I take has become scarce due to blocked supply chains and if I find a pharmacy that has the medication I need to the pain management doctor and they’ll ok it.
Seems to me that my dilemma will be answered in a way I hadn’t suspected. I’m ok with that! Not that I’m looking forward to having withdrawals and more pain but that God always has the answer. I’m assured that all things work for the good of those that love Him and are called according to His purpose!
My heart is open to whatever God calls me to! If I’m meant to be bedridden then so be it!
May sound odd but I find myself excited about what God is doing in my life. Sure, I can get discouraged but I’m not taken out!
I honestly want my Savior, Jesus, to do exactly what he wants to do! His will not mine!!! There are many things I’ve seen here recently that God is actively doing in my life and totally blessing me! I give All the Glory!!!!
Again, thank you for replying 8 months later! I was in a bad way then. Your text was very encouraging. May our God bless you and keep you! I’ll see you soon! And I’ll be the one in heaven that reminds you of this conversation! Isn’t our God WONDER-FULL?

I too am replying to your comment as just another believer who read it.
I know exactly where you’re coming from as far as needing the pain medication. I’ve had 3 spinal fusions and the last one caused even more problems. I too live in chronic pain and pray for deliverance.
And like you, trying to reduce the daily amount only puts me in worse pain.
I am not taking this medication for any other reason than to be able to function at a tolerable level and I don’t believe that I’m doing anything wrong in the eyes of the Lord. I take the medication for the purpose it’s for and no other reason just like I take my blood pressure medication for the purpose of my high blood pressure.
Now, if you were abusing your pain medication, taking more than you’re supposed to for pleasure, that would be a different story and definitely cause for conviction and repentance.
But it sounds as if you’re in the same situation I’m in and if so, I don’t think for a minute that what you’re doing is wrong.
That would be like telling someone not to take their blood pressure medication or dialysis and let the Lord heal them.
I very much believe in divine healing. I’ve seen it. And I continue to pray that the Lord heals me and I pray He heals you as well if it be His will. If not, we both know there’s no pain in Heaven and we’ll see that soon!
      ~God Bless~

I’m so sorry you have to go through so many surgeries on your back.
We do have a lot in common.
I’m so thankful a Bible believing Christian like yourself would take the time and effort to tell some of your story about having to use pain medication.
I have come to grips with it though I wish were different. Our God is completely capable of healing us and if that’s His will it’ll happen.
But most exciting is there’s a better place and I hope to see you there!

@@donnaisaak3402 absolutely! And no need to thank me. I read your comment and absolutely had to reply because I know exactly where you’re coming from not just with the pain but the struggle of taking the medication. I no longer struggle with that. I’m at peace with it and with the Lord about it and I pray you are as well. And I think the only reason I struggled with it before is because there’s those that say about different types of medication not to take it and trust in God. Those words may come from a well meaning person, but they originally come from the accuser who wants to make us doubt our faith. Which is why people need to be careful what message they deliver asking themselves is that message from God. I can both take my pain medication and trust in God that if it’s His will to heal me, He will.
Stay blessed my friend. I’ll see you on the other side. ❤️

This passage from the Gospel of St. John is a good one to read during the Season of Epiphany. During this season, the early days of Jesus' ministry are concentrated on. In John, that would be John 1:29-2:11.

My understanding is that the wine would not make people drunk. Intoxication is a product of the fall. It shows that Jesus is the creator when someone said that it was good, just like in Genesis.

    • @DavidGuzikEnduringWord
      @DavidGuzikEnduringWord  Год назад +3

      Hi Reskin,
There is no scriptural support that I know of that says intoxication through wine was there result of the Fall. One could just as easily make an alcoholic beverage from oranges or apples. Everything that God made is good, but it can be wrongly used and then become something that is considered bad because it is used wrongly.
      Hope this helps. Blessings!

JOHN 2:4…..is a rare case in that: Jesus’ words MUST BE in the literal or He will seem harsh and non communicative. He in Young’s Literal and in the Latin Vulgate….says, “ What to me and to you, woman, my hour has not yet come.” “ What to me and to you “….is an ancient idiom in the Bible AND WAS USED BY ELISHA RIGHT BEFORE he miraculously provided tons of water for three armies ……AND YES…WOMAN HERE actually means “dearest woman”. Want proof? MARY MAGDALENE IS CRYING near the empty tomb of Jesus. How does Jesus address her? Gynai…woman…DEAREST ….later when she recovers He uses her name. When TWO ANGELS see her crying, they also call her gynai….dearest woman.
Literally a book could be written on John 2:4. Which hour does Jesus mean? In John it almost always means….his hour to be arrested and crucified. So. WHY does Mary know he just said yes to doing a miracle? One more puzzle piece and you’ll know. Mary was worried that if Jesus did a miracle….he would soon be arrested and crucified. So….Mary says there is a wine shortage but Jesus sees that she is fearful by her facial expression or a shaking in her voice. So Jesus is really saying….” What to me and to you, dearest, my hour (to suffer arrest and death) has not yet come.”
Bingo…Mary hears a big fat yes….but every paraphrasing translation has him saying no….

    @eileenvesosky8468 Год назад

If you just let the scriptures interpret itself you would understand that the good (old wine )was served first then that which is worse .The worse wine would be served second ,because it is either weak such as new wine or watered down old wine to make it go further. the word" but" means in contrast or opposite of. The opposite of serving the good wine first would be to serve the weak or worse wine first.. The governor of the feast is pointing out that the good wine is being kept or withheld till now.. Serving the new wine first would be the opposite of what would be appropriate etiquette . The Bible also says that no man having tasted old wine calls the new wine good. Try serving new wine today at a wedding reception and see how well it is received. The miracle of turning water into wine is a supernatural miracle but the text also points out that the servants knew where the wine came from where the governor did not. Also the newer translations change the word good to best. Good, better, best they are not the same. I think the Holy Spirit Knows the difference between good, better and best. Many people interpret scripture with their own thoughts instead of sticking to what is actually there
