This was a shake down pass. Not a competition run. It's a TEST run to check the car and any potential problems. You line up and launch the same way, you just lift at mid track. Saves wear on the engine for when the money is on the line. This is a real solid 8 sec car. Wow, so many comment from those who clearly have never driven on the drag strip.
@Kautzk my bad. and thank you for the information. I went to do a research, because I thought 'cuda' was an "engine type", and I didn't know it was a plymouth model. I like 70's american cars, but I don't live in united states, and some cars never got here. so some cars may be commom for you to find in streets, but here we only can see them in pictures or videos. so some models, we are not used to. understand my point? anyway. I thought it was a "dodge challenger" using a "cuda engine"
He backed off the throttle majorly and still ran a second and a half quicker than my Camaro. Amazing. Probably a 9 second car. I'd like to see a twin turbo Cuda.
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE 77. but maverick was built between 72 till 77 in USA and 73 till 79 in brazil. and it changed a little details, nothing compared to camaro for example, that changed so much, that not even seems to be the same car from 67/69 and 70 and beyond mavericks changes were vinyl roofs, aluminium details,.... and brazilian model had an exclusively rearlight model only from 77 to 79. so it is a very rare piece (for maverick owners to find in case of breaking)
thats a probably a 572, I agree its a larger motor but the supercharger vs turbocharger is the boost control, the supercharger is based on the engines idle where in most cases a turbo is computer monitored and controlled. I'm just a fan of the carb.
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE Yes. sorry. i was readying now the reply of "Kautzk", and I went to do a research. because I thought 'cuda' was an "engine type", and I didn't know it was a plymouth model. Flippin' AWESOME 'Cuda. Sweet ride. That engine is so powerful, it has to be strapped down. What kind of fuel does it use? Pump gas? Alcohol ? Nice video. Good videography. More, please. Thanks.
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE ... anyway.. I mistakenly thought it was a 'dodge challenger' using a 'cuda engine'... my bad, and I have to thank Kautzk for the information.
@TeginProgress when the drags start at a competiton everyone gets a test run to feel their car out and check for problems everyone lets off in these laps for as much money as you have in them why push them that hard when you dont need to all the time too much stress not to mention to get your license to run a 9 second quarter mile you have to launch and step on it to the 330 foot mark so seems to me was a 9 sec certification most likely
@TeginProgress he stoped on half of the way and he still did 11 sec. sivics cant even do 11 sec full throttle t'ill the end, this was just one little show what a muscle can do.
Looked like it was smoking pretty bad after he let off.May have been normal or he might have seen some low oil pressure.Surely if you were there the whole day you got to see it make a full pass.If you did what did it run?
I know more about it than you. oviously, a Supercharger, is just a crank-run air pump, that offers a mild performance boost, while not putting too much stress on the tempered engine block, or the RED BLOCKS and ORANGE BLOCKS, the TURBOCHARGER is modified CENTRIFUGAL supercharger which is self propelled therefore when the idle of the engine is compromised the efficiency of the TURBOCHARGER does not change, and therefore weakens the BLOCKS integrity.
Its a quarter mile track. He let off around half track. Either he didnt want to break something doing the 1/4th mile or he only does 1/8mile runs, but idk why he would do that when it was a 1/4th mile night. Regardless you couldnt hear yourself think when he went by
he's got a full race motor and slicks, let off at halftrack and STILL made a 11 second quarter.... you would might as well be sitting still in just about ANY evo
What he needs to do is run it at World Street Nationals. That car is too powerful for a test and tune night at OSW. They hardly do any prep on those nights
I believe at world street nationals in 09 he ran it and hit the wall. Ive got pics, beautiful car and got pretty smashed up. Hopefully they can salvage it
love me some Mopars ! and yes its a 9 sec. car if you know how to drive it ! jus sayin'. nice ride though ! my challenger should be on the streets this summer !
I agree Mopar makes big engines. Good engines, but why ruin a good torque ratio with a god damn turbocharger? They are better on the distance claim, without them.
camera man STINKS.......GREAT CAR THOUGH. CHECK OUT .......VANTASTIC 8 SEC CUDA, right here on You Tube......you wont believe it. VANTASTIC 8 SECOND CUDA.....right here on You Tube.
if i had to guess i'd say high 7's flat out.
Amazing video. This ride is awesome,I dream about Cuda every day...the car of my dreams.

ya thats more like a 12 or 14-71 blower. likely a high 7 car.lol
Beautiful beautiful that is at work of art
He backed off the throttle majorly and still ran a second and a half quicker than my Camaro. Amazing. Probably a 9 second car.

alot of super stock cars did that, i think its so when the front end lifts up from the torque of the motor the wheels are straight up and down
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE Yes. sorry. i was readying now the reply of "Kautzk", and I went to do a research.

that is a bad ass mopar machine! god damn, look at the size of those tires!!
Thats a 2005 low compression engine, those old big blocks don't need that kind of extra boost pressure, they have enough as it is.
@Giliganism However it is probably built from a 440 race block...
Flippin' AWESOME 'Cuda. Sweet ride. That engine is so powerful, it has to be strapped down. What kind of fuel does it use? Pump gas? Alcohol ? Nice video. Good videography. More, please. Thanks.
383 = mopar big block, chevy small block, ford no block. they are stock car motors. I pulled the restrictors and put in two UA carbs.
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE ... anyway.. I mistakenly thought it was a 'dodge challenger' using a 'cuda engine'...
my bad, and I have to thank Kautzk for the information.

great sound....love it!!!!!!!!!!!!
@cmfg600 Yes, but either way this is NOT a 383. The 383 is a 350 block, and this monster has a big block.
love cudas!
that motor is STRAPPED. its not going anywhere
@H0wT0g00gle you have to remember, most children do not know these things. As he gets older he will learn more.
@TeginProgress he stoped on half of the way and he still did 11 sec. sivics cant even do 11 sec full throttle t'ill the end, this was just one little show what a muscle can do.

Let off half way through and still coasted to an 11.3, fucking sick!
yeah i noticed it too.
that huge engine was probably bending the front axel lol
:52- :55 brings a tear to my eye..beautiful
They didn't build the hindenburg to bust into flames, but thats what happened.
Beyond that, I have an 86' RC with probably and even bigger block. a 383Orangeblock.
That thing took off so quick the cameraman had to catch up. nice
Its a quarter mile track. He let off around half track. Either he didnt want to break something doing the 1/4th mile or he only does 1/8mile runs, but idk why he would do that when it was a 1/4th mile night. Regardless you couldnt hear yourself think when he went by
@MrAMERICANxMUSCLE I believe so. based on what you ask that?
he's got a full race motor and slicks, let off at halftrack and STILL made a 11 second quarter.... you would might as well be sitting still in just about ANY evo
correct me if i'm wrong but i think the reason he shut it down was cuz he didn't want to break out of the bracket he was running in
Only saw him make the 1 pass. And the track opened at 6 so filmed this probably around 6:30 or 7. Probably an 8 or 9 sec car
That cuda should run even faster then that too, hes gotta have an 871 blower on a 502 big block...
What he needs to do is run it at World Street Nationals. That car is too powerful for a test and tune night at OSW. They hardly do any prep on those nights
that is amazing to come off and shit down with that time. :-)
That's definitly at least a low 8 car
Check out the '68 8.99 Charger. This things gotta be in the 7's.
I believe at world street nationals in 09 he ran it and hit the wall. Ive got pics, beautiful car and got pretty smashed up. Hopefully they can salvage it
Actually a friend of mine was running his truck and while they ran the high HP cars i was still watching with my camera thank god lol
he got off the gas at the 330 mark and still ran an 11 hitting the brakes
@drizzetsrevenge Hate to break it to ya but this ain a chevy. Mopar offered a 383 big block :)
@LosCadaver Wtf? Do you know anything? a 383 is a stroked 350. It's a small block. That Cuda probably has a 500+ CI engine.
i didn't say i don't want it as a second car:D
it's perfect. and the corolla is close to a perfect first car too :D
I crapped my pants before he shut it down
A twin turbo Cuda' would be fast, but the excess torque put on the big block would kill it after almost every run. Just an observation.
@MrClean8907 I definitely think he was pushin the brake near the end.
@jake5596 Then why not post a video of your supra?
lmao at 16 seconds, its like, 'do not touch the cuda'
well then in that case you're right, its not a evo but a jet with a evo body... and yeah you'd eat that cuda for lunch
T.T that actually happened... aww , i feel bad for it
he let off at 1/8mile point nad still made11 second 1/4. VERY FAST evo is capable of mid 9sec run. same with impreza.
That's a '72-'74 Cuda.
he was probley getting his lisence
gears sound a bit off. Buts thats part of drag racing, trials and errors...
engine over heat cuz it was smokin before he took off?
Now that´s a fucking motor buddy!!!!
Yeeeeehaw!!!!!!
Mopars are always salvageable
thats one bad fish....It takes a mopar to catch a mopar!
go toyota go
ooooooo sting that was real nice
why did he slow down?
a Supra can eat these nuts
If we wanted your opinion we'd give it to you.
Oh good. I was bout ta say.
it looks like a candy apple red/burgundy color
i think that car could of done 7-8 sec
KING KONG BAZOOKA CUDA!
I bet that thing has enough horse power you could do a burnout just by letting the clutch out and not even step on the gas.
I just got an erection.
THE SUPRA WOULD EAT THIS
I think we got it all off lol
love me some Mopars ! and yes its a 9 sec. car if you know how to drive it ! jus sayin'. nice ride though ! my challenger should be on the streets this summer !
thats an amazing cuda
Quit coming back and commenting until you have something clever or meaningful to say
@MrClean8907 Probably high 8s....
awww i wanted to see the cuda blow the doors off that 5.0 =(
o.o I should really put my ramcharger on here...
He has some serious alignment issues
i wonder if you could get away with drving this on the street, the legality of it
cool story, bro
looks like he ran outta gas! lmao
Did you see the fucking monster tires on it at the back, Jesus criss
sis you guys wipe the druel off the camera
11 seconds? wtf ? thought it would push more than that...
he slowed down whyyy?? he could of done 9sec
"holy crap i want that"XD
Mopar or no Car!!
looks like a mid 8 to me.
he probably tested 1/8mile time. he brakes before finish line.
looks like he slowed down at the end....but fuck that cuda is sick!!!
DAMN. my bad bro. i thought you were serious lol
is that a 'dodge challenger' ?
Wow, shuts down at half track..still runs 11.30's that's fucking crazy fast
whats a supra?
dude he wants that
