I just got a new 140 Cat about four months ago and our Cat dealer head mechanic in Kansas told us to take out that grease zirk and only use dry graphite on that circle drive! You are right the book does say it to grease but our dealer has had to replaced those gears because when you use grease that collects dirt and sand it will wear those gears down!! Do what you want but I would be asking your dealer about that just for CYA cover your ass!! Great videos! Thanks
Great example for the young Operators in how and why you should take care of this $ 500,000 plus dollar Machine and I know many Owners would love to have you on their team, keep up the great videos and stay safe ( from Canada )
Funnily enough on my jobsite I'm one of the youngest operators but I probably take the best care of my equipment, when I was running 1 of the 3 blades I was the only one putting the graphite spray on and cleaning my circle/moldboard off so it wasnt full of rocks or frozen dirt in the winter.
Can we have a Tutorial on what psi pressure you use on the tires with different equipment in different situations? Your videos are helping me alot, thank you
Love your vid's. So helpful as I'm a county guy getting to learn the 140M. What modulation setting do you use. Our old guy uses coarse, but it's too jittery for me.
In the hole on top of your circle where you spray your graphite, do you have someone spray it while you turn it? How do you do it if youre all by yourself?
Good Evening Sir, if I may ask you a question. When laying down gravel on the shoulder of paved road, do you keep your grader on the pavement or do you ride on shoulder keeping some blade on pavement lightly. Employer suggests 2-3%. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks for your time.
If you have enough room I’d keep the machine on the shoulder and put your moldboard right on the edge of the asphalt and then put your slope in that way hope this helps thanks for watching!
That’s what I thought would be logical. But I’m being told I have to keep the Deere 772gp on the road and shift saddle all the way over and slide blade over. I just feel that wouldn’t give an accurate slope since the right side of the blade is about halfway in that drive lane. It appears that everyone here is self taught, and to me it’s no good learning something wrong. I’ve watched several videos yours and others and from what I’ve learned these guys don’t have a clue. Thanks so much for your advice, input, videos , it’s really good instructional videos you are sharing. Once again thank you.
Hey wondering if you would know how to do the stow setting on your John Deere. I would like it so that I can press and button and it shows the blade in whatever setting I set it. Maybe it’s not even possible ? Hard to explain so sorry if it’s confusing
I unfortunately don’t know how to do that my Deere doesn’t have that option I’d recommend calling your Deere dealer hopefully they can tell you or maybe look in your operators manual.

Hey there, who does your servicing?
My cat dealer does all the major services I do the basic oil changes and grease the machine.
