Unless you want the 50's look I think this is the best looking 350 single out there. A shame we don't get it in the UK, I'd love Honda to bring a 500 version in.

500 in the "J"m platform would be a winner. i'd take one just for the hill pulling side.

Interesting you found the bike with OEM Dunlops wobbly and unsteady on gravel. Not my experience at all. I've now done about 50 km on dirt roads with my GB350 with the stock tyres - some sections quite steep and/or with deep gravel, some rocky and with ruts, some even a bit sandy. My bike handled very well and always was stable; surprisingly, even standing up worked well. The low seat height allowed me to paddle through some muddy bits, too, and the traction control actually kicked in on one or two steep ascents. The ABS worked well, too, on steep descents. Even ground clearance is good. In fact, of all the bikes I've ridden on this same route (Versys X 300, BMW G310GS, CRF250 Rally, KLR650 3rd. gen), I found the GB350 the easiest to control and felt most confident on it 🤔

just did a 90 klm run on it to long point on the macquauie river. did the run easy and very well behaved
even made a coffee by the river and flew the drone too nice and quiet there too

Sometime it is overlooked but the tyres are a major component of the motorcycles suspension system.

Always liked the look of these bikes after watching some of the first reviews from India (they have a great colour choices...and some excellent reviewers btw) and mate I have to say it, those tyres just make your bike look really damn cool. I know you have them on for a reason (the roads you ride), but there's some purpose and some old-school 50s-60s scrambler vibe now. And yes. The way a bike looks does matter to me. Even wee workhorses. Loving your work mate and cheers from NZ.

i dont really know much about tyres so ive researched a bit and went in direction others have.
what i can say is the tyre choices appear to run well on the sealed and seeing i dont ride hard -not that much difference.
bit of road noise but overall i think there ok
my guess is i will know more once i do a few dirt road runs on the different rides.

Hi Warro, I checked the Motoz site and couldn't find sizes that would fit the specs (100/90-19 front, 130/70-18 rear). What sizes did you fit? And if you did fit on oversize rear, any concerns it might reduce rear suspension travel or scrape the mudguard?

    • @ridewithwarro
      @ridewithwarro  2 месяца назад

yeah im not sure what i put on as i have not sat on a bike for 5 or more weeks. last trip for me was that macquarie river run on this bike where those combo tyres went expremely well. so overall happy with all motoz tyres on 3 of the bikes

If it’s not too much of a bother it’d be great if you could check on the tyres what sizes you have. I’ve been searching high and low and couldn’t find any dual purpose tire from any brand that would fit the rear 130/70-18 spec.

once i hated dirt roads..lol still recall when the honda crf250 rally came out. bought one rode it out to the dirt road. did about 400 metres and did not like dirt at all.
got off turned it around and rode carefully to the sealed and as soon as i got home -it was on GUMTREE....lol
i really never thought i'd go dirt but thats how it panned

3 honda gb350 duel adv front and rallz rear.

Based on predictions from the UK, EVs will potentially force the phasing out of our beloved petrol-fueled-freedom rides, see 'fit for [20]55'. At least at my age (60) I won't live to see that happen. It's ironic, pre-30 years of age and the focus is on looking forward, while after 60 the focus does a 180 degree flip...for some that is. The older a tradesman gets, the better he was.

Another nice succinct video, Warro. I've narrowed my bike choice down to two models, not-surprisingly both from Honda. The GB350 based on most of what I've gleaned from your channel, and the CL500. I'm really drawn to the classic look of the GB, but torn between that and the extra highway cruising speed and extra oomph of the CL's 471cc twin--particularly when slotted between two semis and needing to get out of their way, mostly on the odd occasion I head down the Princes Hwy to visit people anywhere from 50 to 300 kilometers away.
    Cheers, Warro

    • @ridewithwarro

im not up to the cl500 but i did buy 018/019/021/022 honda cb500x's new they are pretty good bikes especially the last 022 model but they all had one major flaw.
bad bar vibration and i hate vibration in bikes
the cl500 i think has same motor
not sure but if you dont mind a bit of vibration i'd go that way.
but in all honesty i think the Gb350 is a pretty good ride and without that 13t front severely underpowered.
even with these new tyres i had no trouble running along at 100 kph but saying that one cant beat power and id say the cl500 would cover your desires.

@@ridewithwarro From what I've found, the CL is based on the CMX which is a re-branded Rebel, but the CL has a higher seat for upright riding which is another preference for me, oh and it comes with a larger one-tooth rear sprocket. And yes, they all share the same 471cc parallel twin. I've seen your videos on the 500x. I'm learning more towards road riding. Cheers.
