However, his personality remained dormant within the Omnitrix's DNA database for a long time. It is unknown what happened to Zs'Skayr's original form, although it is likely that either he died or his consciousness was transported inside the clone body.
hmm, I imagine it's possible that the one post classic series may be the original though the knowledge of Primus and being re inserted into the omnitrix in the Vilgax episode puts that into question... maybe post Alien Force is the original it's hard to pin down with how many times he burns up and seemingly dies yet still appearing with clear memories of previous encounters unless it works like a hivemind or something where they share memories

When you say Max “owning” a sun gun is a coincidence, do you mean in general or specifically having it right when Ghostfreak decides to break out. Because I feel max having a sun gun isn’t impossible, he has been a plumber for a very long time and has bound to have fought a lot of aliens that also probably don’t like sunlight like ectonurites, vladats for example.
Pretty sure Valadat's are extinct at this time... and those are the only 2 known examples of aliens that are weak to sunlight. That having been said, it still isn't much of an stretch to think along the lines you did here. So him having that is probably the least coincidental of all of the examples.
Well he wouldn’t have fought Vladats because they were extinct long before Max became a plumber but I agree that he probably would’ve used one at some point, surely there’s at least 1 other alien species that doesn’t like concentrated light
The hoverboards size change can easily be explained, the thing already changes sizes between standby and active mode so it can probably just grow bigger than what we’ve seen before.
I Just realized how Hex and CharmCaster’s powers seems to be based on D&D magic which, besides adding a cool layer to their powers, actually explains some of your nitpicks about their powers. So, in order to cast a spell in D&D you have to: 1.Know the spell in question and in some cases have them write in a spellbook and prepared at morning 2.Have innate mana/magic energy slots (of different proportions) 3.Provide up to 3 different components (depending on the spell in question): somatic (signs and handwaving or body movements), verbal (wording) and material (ingredients specific to the spell). CharmCaster’s bag looks like a very cool and well designed mix between a component patch (in game this holds any ingredients a spellcaster might need to cast any spell they know) and a bag of holding (a pocket dimension bag). Alternatively to providing the material components a spellcaster may choose a spell focus to canalize the mana (I guess?) and cast the spell through it. That seems to be Hex method. Since he was without his staff and he didn’t have a component pack to begin with, he was limited to casting spells that only used verbal and somatic components. Maybe he didn’t knew nor have any spells that could break him out without said missing components. CharmCaster couldn’t track the charm Bc she either didn’t know the spell or didn’t have enough innate mana to cast such a high spell (this last one is definitely the reason she couldn’t perform the eclipse ritual herself) Maybe destroying the charms during the ritual would suck out the mana within it radius, or from the performer of the ritual (since CharmCaster took the lead of the ritual by the end, it probably has taken her its caster as well)

@@LucyWest370 If it was just a throwaway error, I’d agree, but in literally EVERY scene Ghostfreak appears in the classic series, down to the _transformation sequence,_ his symbol is at least a little off-center and skewed. Others have errors, sure, but the fact that they *never* got it “right” makes me think it was never supposed to be.
@@theillusionist1494 in his transformation sequence it looks fine man. The reason it looks weird is because its the only omnitrix symbol to be embedded under something else, making it especially hard to draw correctly. Even I cant get it right.
@@LucyWest370 …If you look at the symbol during the transformation sequence, the entire thing is stretched and slanted the exact same way it is during every other scene - vertically and to the right. The only difference between scenes is how much they exaggerate that stretch/slant. But it literally never takes the perfectly round shape.
Hex needs his staff, thus he couldn't break out without it. Charmcaster tried to use its power herself but couldn't, thus motivating her to break out Hex.

Yeah, in Ultimate Alien, we do see him being recruited before the first Moon launch, and in Classic, it's said that Neil Armstrong was the second choice since Max backed out. The question we should be asking is when he retired exactly, I don't think we get that answer.
Hey, Kuro. They actually answered the question of Ghostfreak/Zs'skayr's original self still existing in the Vilgax Attacks video game. Even if it takes place in an alternate timeline, they go to his home dimension of Anur Phaetos & he exists there. The odd thing is that the original him knows who Ben, Gwen, & Kevin are, but it's an answer & I haven't seen any contradictory evidence.

@@iunnoo In the cutscene immediately before they went there, they directly stated that it was Ghostfreak's home world on another dimensional plain. And then he's there. The only real explanation, since we, & I assume the writers of the game because it was written & made before AF season 3 came out, only remember Ghostfreak dying to sunlight in the classic series the last time we saw him (though apparently leaving a DNA sample in the Omnitrix that teased future developments that never happened), so he was either dead or in the Omnitrix, or both, so the only explanation is that it was the original. The only weirdness is that he somehow knows Ben, which doesn't make sense unless they share some sort of hive mind or something. His dialogue when he explains being trapped in the Omnitrix implies he was cloned through the extraction of DNA from Zs'skayr. So, that's how I always saw it. Ghostfreak was a DNA duplicate or clone.

@@SolDizZo They never really delved into his backstory in any official media, so I'm taking all of that as a "maybe." I'd like it if they explored it in an official capacity, though, outside of additional reading. As for the consciousness thing, Zs'skayr's clone explained in the episode where he broke out that his consciousness is the result of the Omnitrix copying his DNA, which means that it duplicated his memories & mind. That "transporting consciousness" thing makes no sense when you remember that. That's a contradictory statement to say it was duplicated, then that it was transported to a clone body. You can have 1 or the other, but not both.
The chase scenes with Z’scare in his first appearance always felt like a breath of fresh air. We got an enemy Ben is actually vulnerable against when he is in his base form. So it becomes a cat and mouse game where Z’scare is chasing in his human form and has to wait for the omnitrix to recharge, but also when he is transformed that he does what he can to fend off Z’scare and his attempts of possession. Actually feels tense and like there is an enemy we had never gotten before.
It also shows how much Ben has phased out of using transformations for personal or frivolous purposes for the most part. This isn’t the Ben who will use the Omnitrix to sneak into a videogame premiere or prank Gwen, and the magic show stunt really only negatively affected the magician by throwing off his pacing (the performance was crashed anyway less than a minute later). So not only more strategic use, but contextually appropriate use.
My headcanon is that Paradox is behind a lot of the “coincidences” in the series P.s. I forgot how much of a badass Hex was in the original series. P.p.s. A lot of Ghostfreak’s “new” abilities could just be abilities that Ectonurites naturally have that Ben simply didn’t know about.

I did wish Gwen kept the keystone of Bezel. It didn't make her as strong as the Charms of Bezel would've made her but it still made her useful. However I am glad she got the spell book later on.
I think Gwen would get less hate for her powers if they stayed tied to an object like ben's do. If she kept one and got a new one every so often her power would have scaled as needed. Making them internal kind of broke theme.
Ghostfreak is one of the few aliens that Ben have used in every series inculding Diamondhead, Cannonbolt, Upchuck and Waybig Ben have used all 5 of them in Classic, Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse I am not counting the reboot no hate to it either 😊

I don't remember it perfectly, but wasn't that school from "Ghostfreaked out" the same school, where Gwen was studying in Omniverse? I really don't remember it. Maybe there might be some clues to the whereabouts of this school? If i am wrong, then i am wrong, no big deal. Of course my favourite episode out of those 3 was "Ghostfreaked out". I wish we saw more of Ben's vicious, violent behavior as Ghostfreak, like in that fight scene (short, but somehow one of my favourites), that probably would have added another layer to the Ghostfreak's plotline.

It seems a bit weird that 'They Lurk Below' had plot get points taken off for "Tennysons behaving in a way inconsistent with how they're characterized" rather than the perfect characterization score taking a hit.
I did that because, had the situation been as the plot intended, the character would react as they did in this episode. But the episode makes it out that just because the sea squids are aliens, we are to believe they are evil, and just accept that. I feel that’s more of a plot flaw than characterization, because to fix that, they should’ve made it more definitive that these aliens ARE evil, rather than change how the characters react. I think the aliens were intended to be truly evil, but the plot fails to prove this. They give no reason, motive, or clarification other than implying that “alien = evil”.
@@TheInkTank if we're looking for retroactive justification: the aliens were an existential threat. The 'humans' would have probably died if they had done things that even had a chance of being a waste of time, including trying to protect aliens who hadn't really made attempts to communicate. Thank you for the clarification, though. This is one of the better series currently coming out to chill out to.

I wish we had more time with Ghostfreak before he became a villain, I think a few more episodes with him would have made his transformation to a villain better
Honestly same Ghostfreak was always so cool but at the same time it makes alot of sense, it somewhat adds to this moment how rarely he was used compared to the others. Ghostfreak was a pretty op alien as shown with Big Chill the power of intangibility is broken so without this big episode it felt odd how underutilised he was... But with the hindsight of this episode, it makes so much sense why Ben heavily avoided using him. If you had a transformation that made you feel completely off unlike your others and creeped out then you probably like Ben would try to avoid using it. Ben also rarely used most of Ghostfreaks other abilities outside of just intangibility, he doesn't really use possession or telekinesis.
I think "Highest point at the time of a solar eclipse" implies that it is talking about the area where the eclipse is happening. After all, the Eclipse isn't happening everywhere, but we get one every year. Yeah, problem with a form that can't breath on land...... the "not breathing on land" part, kinda makes me wonder why at no point dose the Omnitrix ever give Ripjaws any type of gear like NRG's suit or Goop's anti-gravity disk so it will be useful outside of water based locations. For the Ghostfreak situation... I always assumed either clone, or some sort of hive mind thing, because why would 1 or 2 stands of DNA (or however much the omnitrix needs) take priority over, well, literally the rest of the entire body in terms of what get's his consciousness.

From what I can gather, the Omnitrix (or at least the prototype model) doesn’t really like magic and may not function properly when used in conjunction with it like in the Destroy all Aliens movie
I wouldn't called it a pseudo Ultimate form, more like a power boost. The alien's appearances doesn't change and it doesn't get new powers/ lose some. The gauntlet is more of a standard power boost
Ben unlocking master control reminds me of just putting random letters and numbers on a lego marvel game for cheats and unlocking times 10 studs on accident
I imagine that could be coincidence unless the profile the guys had on hand mentions that very thing... though it makes me wonder why Hex had the bravery now but not then in the future to return to Ledgerdomain... probably from the promise of the immensely more powerful charms of Bezel
@@Xeno-The-Wanderer it absolutely is coincidence, I doubt Adwaitia had been conceived of yet, but I think it might make sense retroactively. The charms, especially with the keystone, are very powerful, and would definitely have helped.

I think the point of the undersea aliens is that they crashed into the earth, they all died, and their ship's defense / repair drones are going haywire trying to repair the ship. So the drones are automatically pulling ships and planes down into the bermuda triangle to use as materials to repair the ship with an already dead crew.
Maybe Zs’skayr is using ectonurite powers that Ben couldn’t use due to inexperience. I mean the prototype omnitrix had glitches that didn’t transfer the instincts into Ben.
Plus Ben only has like 10 minutes with ewery alien at a time hardly enough to lern ewery single thing about them kind of like martial arts you can stick with one and master it complitly or go all ower the place and lern as meny as possible but only barely lern basics with each one
I’m pretty sure Charmcaster is stronger than Hex, she’s probably just afraid of him because he’s her Uncle and much older than her. Later she decided that she had enough and stood against him

Actually i think galvans just retain their gills from when they're tadpoles rather than breathing through his skin you see those lines the galvan have on them.
I would just like to say that while Ben didn't call himself "Ben 10" in the classic series doesn't mean that he wouldn't call himself Ben 10,000 in the future, I mean Ben is around 30-40 years old in the episode where he calls himself that and so he could have always given himself that name off screen, maybe when everyone found out about his powers and being a hero. A Lot can happen for Ben over 20-30 year, just look at what he went through over a summer with Max and Gwen, and maybe he decided to call himself "Ben 10" cus thats how many aliens he started with when helping people as well as its a part of his second name and it sound cool.
Ghost freak was threatening for me because he was a Ben alien. So we’d seen what he could do... but then he pulls out some new tricks meaning he was stronger than we’d seen
Ghostfreak's consciousness can pass into a strand of his dna. You know before alien force, i imagined what if he came back through kevin and the ghostfreak part of the combo. Maybe something like eddie brock and the venom symbiote.
Oh yeah, Kevin got some Ghostfreak in him. Surely the writers didn't think of that or just forgot, which is a shame. It could've been interesting to have Kev struggling for both physical and mental control of his body against Z'kar. And add a layer to his wish to get revenge against Ben for "transfroming him into a monster" AND be stuck with a copy of Ghostfreak
@@alexhuduma9474 I think they made a nod to it in Alien Force, during the episode where Big Chill had kids, Gwen brought up the Ghostfreak incident to Kevin, he said, " Never liked that guy" or something along those lines. I agree that they could have done more, but I think why it didn't happen to Kevin was either because he wasn't wearing the Omnitrix, he didn't use Ghostfreak enough for it to happen, or Zs'skayr was too suppressed to do anything of the sort. Plus, if Ben was weirded out going Ghostfreak, then Kevin would be as well. Sorry for the wall of text, I had a lot to say.

Well it was sent to Max specifically by Xylene but the co-ordinates were off and it just latched on to Ben’s similar DNA. Also come on, what kid wouldn’t go check out the literal meteor that dropped just nearby them?
It's not really a coincidence. No-watch Ben changed the trajectory of the Omnitrix pod so that it lands near the Tennysons, and Ben's DNA was similar enough to his grandfather's so the Omnitrix latched onto him.
@@emperortgp2424 That was after the timeline was rebooted. Paradox himself has said that they have rebooted the Ben Prime Timeline. Meaning that in the original timeline No Watch Ben hadn't done anything. He merely closed the loop to avoid the timeline to change.

Ghostfreaked out is so terrifying, especially as a kid. I'm a bit too young to have watched the original Ben 10 when it originally aired, but i caught the reruns in 2011-2012 on Boomerang and watching that as a 7 year old is mind blowingly scary.
Man, I will never forget the first time I watched Ghostreaked out, the feeling of that episode is just soo intense and suspenseful. Also love seeing Charmcaster for the first time, honestly some of my fav episodes of the entire series are the one's involving Charmcaster in Ultimate Alien. Can't wait for you to get to those eventually at some point!

A pop-up trivia of Hunted says that while Ben was Ghostfreak, he may not have been in control and after he reverted back, Ben states that it felt "even weirder" than when he normally transforms into Ghostfreak. This is a very subtle detail, especially with it being the 5th episode of the series.
Well by that logic he also wouldn’t know how to walk so he most likely got the hang of it pretty quickly from their brains or something. Functions may be taken directly from the possessed person’s brain when Ghostfreak possesses them
If memory serves in Omniverse whenever an econurite possessed someone they always had one eye closed. But for the original series all that happened was that markings extended from the eyes, which might be involuntary. In Alien Force it would just turn the victim into an ectonurite, but that may have just been a special case.
I always thought GhostFreak grabbing and messing with ThumbSkull was something baking the lines of using his better understanding of his own powers to phase into ThumbSkull's head and either directly mess with his brain, or play around with his blood pressure and knock him out or slightly paralyze him.

Man the concept of Ghostfreak is still so cool and interesting, an alien that kept it's sentience through even a small amount of dna and ended up trapped, desperate to escape the Omnitrix. You'd think they'd keep such a great story idea for a later series.
The thing with the Luck Charm is that the action/event has to be possible. Gwen's skills were needed in the first place. She is able to perform them, but the Charm increases both the success rate and how so. Even if someone could only just partially flip over something, the Charm will help them complete it.
I wish Edwin had've shown up again. His reaction to the situation when Ben's identity was revealed would've been great. He could've even been revealed as the reason Ben10k had some of the tech he does.
now, on a production standpoint, I doubt the crew intended for this but lorewise, maybe Hex was referring to Adwaita as his enemy because, you know, he MURDERED his brother and considering how young Charmcaster is in this point of the story, Spellbinder's death must be very recent or at least only a few years, so Hex's abuse on his own niece was perhaps born of anger and hate for Adwaita than he has become consumed for revenge and power than he forgot he should be taking care of her in honor of his deceased brother
a fun thing that dawned on me, since Ben's aliens are the same relative age as he is, that means that Zs'Skayr in this episode, has the body of a 10 year old Ectonurite
It’s really unfortunate what they did with her later: in Ultimate Alien she seems to be working on a better relationship with Gwen and seems to want to free her people from Adwaita but the next time we see her she not only unflinchingly sacrifices the very people she fought to free but also takes immense pleasure in killing Gwen, Ben and Kevin, her final appearance has her be a full on villain.

This is what I found on Zs'Skayr:
The original Zs'Skayr was once the High Ecto-Lord of Anur Phaetos. He learned about the Omnitrix from the data files of one of Vilgax's data probes, which crash-landed on his planet. He left his planet using the probe and searched the galaxy by possessing many beings. Not long afterward, he encountered Myaxx while she was collecting samples with the Omnitrix on Flors Verdance.
Zs'Skayr possessed the Florauna that was being sampled, thereby adding Ectonurite DNA to the Omnitrix as well as Florauna DNA. Since an Ectonurite's consciousness exists even in a single strand of DNA, Zs'Skayr had effectively copied himself into the device. However, his personality remained dormant within the Omnitrix's DNA database for a long time. It is unknown what happened to Zs'Skayr's original form, although it is likely that either he died or his consciousness was transported inside the clone body.
hmm, I imagine it's possible that the one post classic series may be the original though the knowledge of Primus and being re inserted into the omnitrix in the Vilgax episode puts that into question... maybe post Alien Force is the original

When you say Max “owning” a sun gun is a coincidence, do you mean in general or specifically having it right when Ghostfreak decides to break out. Because I feel max having a sun gun isn’t impossible, he has been a plumber for a very long time and has bound to have fought a lot of aliens that also probably don’t like sunlight like ectonurites, vladats for example.
Pretty sure Valadat's are extinct at this time... and those are the only 2 known examples of aliens that are weak to sunlight.
That having been said, it still isn't much of an stretch to think along the lines you did here. So him having that is probably the least coincidental of all of the examples.

I Just realized how Hex and CharmCaster’s powers seems to be based on D&D magic which, besides adding a cool layer to their powers, actually explains some of your nitpicks about their powers.
So, in order to cast a spell in D&D you have to:
1.Know the spell in question and in some cases have them write in a spellbook and prepared at morning
2.Have innate mana/magic energy slots (of different proportions)
3.Provide up to 3 different components (depending on the spell in question): somatic (signs and handwaving or body movements), verbal (wording) and material (ingredients specific to the spell).
CharmCaster’s bag looks like a very cool and well designed mix between a component patch (in game this holds any ingredients a spellcaster might need to cast any spell they know) and a bag of holding (a pocket dimension bag).
Alternatively to providing the material components a spellcaster may choose a spell focus to canalize the mana (I guess?) and cast the spell through it. That seems to be Hex method. Since he was without his staff and he didn’t have a component pack to begin with, he was limited to casting spells that only used verbal and somatic components. Maybe he didn’t knew nor have any spells that could break him out without said missing components.
CharmCaster couldn’t track the charm Bc she either didn’t know the spell or didn’t have enough innate mana to cast such a high spell (this last one is definitely the reason she couldn’t perform the eclipse ritual herself)
Maybe destroying the charms during the ritual would suck out the mana within it radius, or from the performer of the ritual (since CharmCaster took the lead of the ritual by the end, it probably has taken her its caster as well)

The only difference between scenes is how much they exaggerate that stretch/slant. But it literally never takes the perfectly round shape.

Hey, Kuro. They actually answered the question of Ghostfreak/Zs'skayr's original self still existing in the Vilgax Attacks video game. Even if it takes place in an alternate timeline, they go to his home dimension of Anur Phaetos & he exists there. The odd thing is that the original him knows who Ben, Gwen, & Kevin are, but it's an answer & I haven't seen any contradictory evidence.
Wait I remember playing that level, was that actually a separate version of him? I assumed he just happened to be there when ben went there. [ben 10 coincidences]

The only real explanation, since we, & I assume the writers of the game because it was written & made before AF season 3 came out, only remember Ghostfreak dying to sunlight in the classic series the last time we saw him (though apparently leaving a DNA sample in the Omnitrix that teased future developments that never happened), so he was either dead or in the Omnitrix, or both, so the only explanation is that it was the original. The only weirdness is that he somehow knows Ben, which doesn't make sense unless they share some sort of hive mind or something. His dialogue when he explains being trapped in the Omnitrix implies he was cloned through the extraction of DNA from Zs'skayr. So, that's how I always saw it. Ghostfreak was a DNA duplicate or clone.

@@SolDizZo They never really delved into his backstory in any official media, so I'm taking all of that as a "maybe." I'd like it if they explored it in an official capacity, though, outside of additional reading.
As for the consciousness thing, Zs'skayr's clone explained in the episode where he broke out that his consciousness is the result of the Omnitrix copying his DNA, which means that it duplicated his memories & mind. That "transporting consciousness" thing makes no sense when you remember that. That's a contradictory statement to say it was duplicated, then that it was transported to a clone body. You can have 1 or the other, but not both.
My headcanon: his bodies have a hive mind,.

The chase scenes with Z’scare in his first appearance always felt like a breath of fresh air. We got an enemy Ben is actually vulnerable against when he is in his base form. So it becomes a cat and mouse game where Z’scare is chasing in his human form and has to wait for the omnitrix to recharge, but also when he is transformed that he does what he can to fend off Z’scare and his attempts of possession. Actually feels tense and like there is an enemy we had never gotten before.
Best moment in "they lurk below": Gwen and ben don't argue one single moment
That’s nice.
It also shows how much Ben has phased out of using transformations for personal or frivolous purposes for the most part. This isn’t the Ben who will use the Omnitrix to sneak into a videogame premiere or prank Gwen, and the magic show stunt really only negatively affected the magician by throwing off his pacing (the performance was crashed anyway less than a minute later). So not only more strategic use, but contextually appropriate use.
My headcanon is that Paradox is behind a lot of the “coincidences” in the series
P.s. I forgot how much of a badass Hex was in the original series.
P.p.s. A lot of Ghostfreak’s “new” abilities could just be abilities that Ectonurites naturally have that Ben simply didn’t know about.

I did wish Gwen kept the keystone of Bezel. It didn't make her as strong as the Charms of Bezel would've made her but it still made her useful. However I am glad she got the spell book later on.
I think Gwen would get less hate for her powers if they stayed tied to an object like ben's do. If she kept one and got a new one every so often her power would have scaled as needed. Making them internal kind of broke theme.
Ghostfreak is one of the few aliens that Ben have used in every series inculding Diamondhead, Cannonbolt, Upchuck and Waybig Ben have used all 5 of them in Classic, Alien Force, Ultimate Alien and Omniverse I am not counting the reboot no hate to it either 😊

It seems a bit weird that 'They Lurk Below' had plot get points taken off for "Tennysons behaving in a way inconsistent with how they're characterized" rather than the perfect characterization score taking a hit.
I did that because, had the situation been as the plot intended, the character would react as they did in this episode. But the episode makes it out that just because the sea squids are aliens, we are to believe they are evil, and just accept that. I feel that’s more of a plot flaw than characterization, because to fix that, they should’ve made it more definitive that these aliens ARE evil, rather than change how the characters react. I think the aliens were intended to be truly evil, but the plot fails to prove this. They give no reason, motive, or clarification other than implying that “alien = evil”.
I guess to put it simply: after the episode, are you asking yourself “Were those aliens really evil?” or “Why did they react this way?”
@@TheInkTank if we're looking for retroactive justification: the aliens were an existential threat. The 'humans' would have probably died if they had done things that even had a chance of being a waste of time, including trying to protect aliens who hadn't really made attempts to communicate.

Honestly same Ghostfreak was always so cool but at the same time it makes alot of sense, it somewhat adds to this moment how rarely he was used compared to the others.
Ghostfreak was a pretty op alien as shown with Big Chill the power of intangibility is broken so without this big episode it felt odd how underutilised he was...
But with the hindsight of this episode, it makes so much sense why Ben heavily avoided using him. If you had a transformation that made you feel completely off unlike your others and creeped out then you probably like Ben would try to avoid using it.
Ben also rarely used most of Ghostfreaks other abilities outside of just intangibility, he doesn't really use possession or telekinesis.
I think "Highest point at the time of a solar eclipse" implies that it is talking about the area where the eclipse is happening. After all, the Eclipse isn't happening everywhere, but we get one every year.
Yeah, problem with a form that can't breath on land...... the "not breathing on land" part, kinda makes me wonder why at no point dose the Omnitrix ever give Ripjaws any type of gear like NRG's suit or Goop's anti-gravity disk so it will be useful outside of water based locations.
For the Ghostfreak situation... I always assumed either clone, or some sort of hive mind thing, because why would 1 or 2 stands of DNA (or however much the omnitrix needs) take priority over, well, literally the rest of the entire body in terms of what get's his consciousness.
They actually changed that Ripjaws problem in the Reboot

From what I can gather, the Omnitrix (or at least the prototype model) doesn’t really like magic and may not function properly when used in conjunction with it like in the Destroy all Aliens movie
I wouldn't called it a pseudo Ultimate form, more like a power boost. The alien's appearances doesn't change and it doesn't get new powers/ lose some. The gauntlet is more of a standard power boost

@@Xeno-The-Wanderer it absolutely is coincidence, I doubt Adwaitia had been conceived of yet, but I think it might make sense retroactively. The charms, especially with the keystone, are very powerful, and would definitely have helped.

I think the point of the undersea aliens is that they crashed into the earth, they all died, and their ship's defense / repair drones are going haywire trying to repair the ship.
So the drones are automatically pulling ships and planes down into the bermuda triangle to use as materials to repair the ship with an already dead crew.

I would just like to say that while Ben didn't call himself "Ben 10" in the classic series doesn't mean that he wouldn't call himself Ben 10,000 in the future, I mean Ben is around 30-40 years old in the episode where he calls himself that and so he could have always given himself that name off screen, maybe when everyone found out about his powers and being a hero. A Lot can happen for Ben over 20-30 year, just look at what he went through over a summer with Max and Gwen, and maybe he decided to call himself "Ben 10" cus thats how many aliens he started with when helping people as well as its a part of his second name and it sound cool.
Ghost freak was threatening for me because he was a Ben alien. So we’d seen what he could do... but then he pulls out some new tricks meaning he was stronger than we’d seen
Ghostfreak's consciousness can pass into a strand of his dna. You know before alien force, i imagined what if he came back through kevin and the ghostfreak part of the combo. Maybe something like eddie brock and the venom symbiote.
Oh yeah, Kevin got some Ghostfreak in him. Surely the writers didn't think of that or just forgot, which is a shame. It could've been interesting to have Kev struggling for both physical and mental control of his body against Z'kar.
And add a layer to his wish to get revenge against Ben for "transfroming him into a monster" AND be stuck with a copy of Ghostfreak

@@alexhuduma9474 I think they made a nod to it in Alien Force, during the episode where Big Chill had kids, Gwen brought up the Ghostfreak incident to Kevin, he said, " Never liked that guy" or something along those lines. I agree that they could have done more, but I think why it didn't happen to Kevin was either because he wasn't wearing the Omnitrix, he didn't use Ghostfreak enough for it to happen, or Zs'skayr was too suppressed to do anything of the sort. Plus, if Ben was weirded out going Ghostfreak, then Kevin would be as well. Sorry for the wall of text, I had a lot to say.

It's not really a coincidence. No-watch Ben changed the trajectory of the Omnitrix pod so that it lands near the Tennysons, and Ben's DNA was similar enough to his grandfather's so the Omnitrix latched onto him.
@@emperortgp2424 That was after the timeline was rebooted. Paradox himself has said that they have rebooted the Ben Prime Timeline. Meaning that in the original timeline No Watch Ben hadn't done anything. He merely closed the loop to avoid the timeline to change.

Ghostfreaked out is so terrifying, especially as a kid. I'm a bit too young to have watched the original Ben 10 when it originally aired, but i caught the reruns in 2011-2012 on Boomerang and watching that as a 7 year old is mind blowingly scary.

A pop-up trivia of Hunted says that while Ben was Ghostfreak, he may not have been in control and after he reverted back, Ben states that it felt "even weirder" than when he normally transforms into Ghostfreak. This is a very subtle detail, especially with it being the 5th episode of the series.

If memory serves in Omniverse whenever an econurite possessed someone they always had one eye closed. But for the original series all that happened was that markings extended from the eyes, which might be involuntary. In Alien Force it would just turn the victim into an ectonurite, but that may have just been a special case.
I always thought GhostFreak grabbing and messing with ThumbSkull was something baking the lines of using his better understanding of his own powers to phase into ThumbSkull's head and either directly mess with his brain, or play around with his blood pressure and knock him out or slightly paralyze him.

Man the concept of Ghostfreak is still so cool and interesting, an alien that kept it's sentience through even a small amount of dna and ended up trapped, desperate to escape the Omnitrix. You'd think they'd keep such a great story idea for a later series.
The thing with the Luck Charm is that the action/event has to be possible. Gwen's skills were needed in the first place. She is able to perform them, but the Charm increases both the success rate and how so. Even if someone could only just partially flip over something, the Charm will help them complete it.
I wish Edwin had've shown up again. His reaction to the situation when Ben's identity was revealed would've been great. He could've even been revealed as the reason Ben10k had some of the tech he does.

now, on a production standpoint, I doubt the crew intended for this but lorewise, maybe Hex was referring to Adwaita as his enemy because, you know, he MURDERED his brother and considering how young Charmcaster is in this point of the story, Spellbinder's death must be very recent or at least only a few years, so Hex's abuse on his own niece was perhaps born of anger and hate for Adwaita than he has become consumed for revenge and power than he forgot he should be taking care of her in honor of his deceased brother
a fun thing that dawned on me, since Ben's aliens are the same relative age as he is, that means that Zs'Skayr in this episode, has the body of a 10 year old Ectonurite

It’s really unfortunate what they did with her later: in Ultimate Alien she seems to be working on a better relationship with Gwen and seems to want to free her people from Adwaita but the next time we see her she not only unflinchingly sacrifices the very people she fought to free but also takes immense pleasure in killing Gwen, Ben and Kevin, her final appearance has her be a full on villain.
In Alien force too he was good, he even let Gwen take his spell books
